I have read this thread and understand the basic principles but how do u keep the 1.5 in plumbing from leaking at the connection sites?

if you are talking about the connections at the containers we use Amazing Goop glue, plumbers edition. walmart homedepot lowes etc

everything else is just standard pvc cement.

but what size system are you planning to build? in what shaped space? hard pvc may or may not be the best way for you to go.

what size plants?

I actually didn't use any glue. All I did was screw the carlon fittings in real tight. Figured it was draining into the bottom bucket anyway so I didn't bother. I haven't had any issues in that regard, either.

Well I am starting to build a grow shed from scratch and I have decided that I would like to try ppk. I am still looking at dimensions but probably a 10 x 10 or 10 x 20. I am doing a six plants such as yourself to start. But I have access to almost 10 care giver cards. One of my friends was diagnosed with ca. And that's what kicked this whole thing off. I want to grow him some decent meds. So this looks likes the easiest system. And you have been so helpful. I have been looking at strains but any help with that would be appreciated

Just catching up on my reading. It's been 13 months since i started my ppk. If i can do it anyone can. Old dogs can learn new tricks. The earth is not the center of the universe. Thanks again d9. I was really nervous about trying this. Things are great. On my 3rd grow now. So things are paid for. I average 24oz of really nice buds per grow. This is the most economical way i have ever grown, with stability to boot, this is fool proof. Thanks again. Glad you are doing well. Damn i posted again i must be addicted or something?:woohoo::moon:

yeah, you're a real turbo poster! 10 posts per year. it's only taken you 5 years to be able to pm.

once you mainline ppk
you just cannot stay away!
it may be an addiction
but is it an affliction?

what kind of lighting are you running?

Hey Delta, did you get a pm from me? Not sure if I sent it after I typed it. Damn sativa!

You guys may know of this place, you may not. I don't think I've seen it posted before but I don't read every post in these forums.
If you need anything made of plastic, including tubs, buckets, containers, fittings, hose, pumps, etc......I only shop here:

http://www.usplastic.com/

Check the place out if you never have. Their pump selection is sweet as are the fittings.

I do have the advantage of living within a 20 minute drive of their retail showroom so I don't have a clue what their shipping costs are like. Nice thing is, the showroom has shelves upon shelves of clearance stuff. I've gone in there to pick up $5 worth of stuff and end up leaving with $100 worth of clearance plastic sheets, fittings, one-off tubs- you name it I've found it in there.

I'll even throw this out for you guys- if you're looking for something out of the ordinary or very specific that you can't find, hit me up with a PM and I'll go see if it's available. I'm in there at least once a week. We'll work out shipping later.

Thanks for the offer RM, I've used USPlastics for years and would like to see their retail space. Although your help with going to their showroom for me/us, at least, is appreciated but I am from one of those states where LEOs would love my name and address. although you seem, straight, I, for one could/would not take the chance, if you get my drift.

there is ABSOLUTLTY inference here suggesting YOU are LEO.

I know this has been posted. But I've just spent the last 1.5 hrs looking to no avail.

How many 7 gallon bowls will a bag of MVP fill?

Thanks!

2 at 5 gals each. the 7 gal bowls, because they are so wide, will hold almost exactly 5 gals each 1" down from the rim. this is after some slight loss from cleaning.

if each bag were exactly 1.5 cu ft, which they claim but is not true as the bags do vary somewhat, you would get 11.22 gals before cleaning or screening.

i find that my cement mixer cleaner loses about a gal per bag during washing but it is all the finer stuff that goes throught the 1/8" holes so the final air filled porosity comes out to about 30%.

Yeah, yeah... you and that cement mixer. LOL. I will be sifting out 10 bags with a screen this weekend in like 10 degree temps. FML! LMAO!

D9:

Sorry to resurrect this thread for such a question, but I am convinced the answer is not in here.

What is the intended lighting scheme for the (6) 3 gallon on 40 quart modules in the beginning of this thread?

I assume a 1000 watt hanging in the middle of each circle of 6, but what is it actually?

hey gregor! that system ended up being sold off and moved but the original intention was for 1k's in each circle and one 1k dead center in the middle of the four circles. then a total of 8 600's around the walls.

D9.. have you (or could you) posted any root ball aftermath pics from your 'feed tub' grows? I remember the pics of the 5 gallon buckets from the PPK thread, piled in the corner of then, your shed.. they looked like little cement columns..

OH,,, how you been?:tiphat:
