Here's the deal... I'm not sure how many people have the same cut. I'm sure it's out there, but I know exactly who I gave it to, and that list is small. The guy who gave it to me in 95 hasn't had it in 15 years. When I gave it back to chemdog in 2006 it seems that he hadn't had it in a good while, and I heard that he didn't have it long after that...So how and when did the original cut get passed Around? I know it was stolen from my friends house (RIP) around 2000 in cottage grove, OR... I never forget anything. I'm sure some of the NY crew has it still. I was told "DON'T ever give this to ANYBODY" and I'm a man of my word. So that's what's up. I gave it to 5 people over all these years
We used to smoke the kindest of Ganja when I was growing up in the 80's in VA. They were all from the Super Sativa Seed Club.
My favorites were:
Beatrice's Choice
Nigerian crosses
Afghan Crosse
Northern Lights #5
and of course the SuperSkunk
exactly, whats its used for is my biggest concern, dont misunderstand im all in on knowing the genetics and keeping stuff "clean" .. but the biggest part really, as i see it, is people buying A but getting B because of labeling.I agree. It's time to go back to naming strains based on what it's in the genetics and quantified. People deserve to know what they are buying and consuming and even what it's used for.
the cuts need backing up, The hoading thing is all good but what ya gonna do when you lose it, get busted, robbed or just some shit just happens. I'm glad I passed my cuts around, and have needed them back,
I think they should be passed out to everyone, you still have to grow it well, which is what really sorts the men from the boys.
@npsecta, very nise, seems the'91 has the give a way rounded out club head cola.
more pics! more pics!!!
Passing it to everyone will be like throwing pearls to the swines bro.
Do u imagine Don Perignon passing his cepage to everyone so that they can grow and make Don Perignon in their respective garden?
Hell No !! And thanks god this is not happening.
We shouldn't worry bro, SkunkVA is a man who kept a clone for 20 years, seems like he knows what he is doing, and he seems to doing it well
Agreeed HIH. Maybe responsible sharing is what is required a la GG4.
It depends what Don Perignon's motivations were. If he cared less about business and more about the greater good of the wine drinking community then maybe he would have.
I understand the protected origins argument if you're talking about ensuring a certain standard of quality, but the analogy cannot be used when comparing legal grapes and non/semi legal plants. Should one feel they wish to drink DP, they can go purchase a bottle. Can't pop down to the shops and purchase a hoarded cut can we?
Peace

I think it's the hype that spawns fakes, not the sharing itself.
Peace
U can purchase the buds, just as u can get a bottle, if u have the links or if u know the clubs, for those who are in legal or medical state for instance. Same with certain bottles of DP, u don't get them just like that in shops! They are wanted bottles and some wait up to ten+ years just to get one.
Same with the Elite clone. If u do u work, one day it will reach you. If elite cut is all over the place then its not elite anymore, but beated out.
The fact that they are rare its what make their value and the value of their flowers.
I kind of agree and disagree, I too believe that when you do good work good things will come to you.
but,
Most elite cuts have only become elite because lots of people grew them and rated them, then passed them to their own close friends/circle.
if they had been greedy and kept it to themselves none of us would of got to try it.
The one thing I don't agree with, is other's making money off of your shit especially when they obtain the clone by saying one thing then just straight hoar it out, straight bad karma.
Take the GG#4 clone for instance, when it was passed friend to friend everything was cool, soon as they sold a few all hell brakes loose, mainly down to the HTCC win.
I think you are right about the hype causing the problem's. As before High Times everyone only passed the clone to close friends now there is a chance of making some fast money and boom out go the morals.
