This week I added the Delicious Cheese Candy mom. Back up to five. The oldest is five weeks, so four more and I'll see how I do. They were looking a little hungry so I fed them. I think they will need to be fed a lot, there is not much soil left in there.
Today I added my Holy Grail 69 reverted mom. This is the last one I plan to add. The youngest is 6 weeks, so hopefully this will start supplying me with some smoke over the next few weeks, my jars are all empty.
Took some fan leaves and fed everything. It sure is getting packed in there! In about a week and a half I will be taking out the first of these (J-11).
I was trimming up some of the bottom growth when I noticed I was starting to get a little bit of mold on the stem where I had supercropped some branches. I decided to take a look at my thermometer/hygrometer and noticed the humidity was off the charts! The difference in temperature likely also caused condensation. Clearly the single fan isn't going to cut it now that summer has come.
When I built this I thought (hoped) that single fan would work. It was no problem during the winter months when the heater was running and it was very dry. Now that I have the evaporative cooler running, it's much warmer and more humid. I threaded this fan through the intake and placed it under the plants. Hopefully this will get some much needed air flow. I also set the temperature of the thermostat set to 16*C.
I trimmed up all the lower stuff to increase the airflow more. I don't want to loose the whole crop to high humidity.
I separated the pots as much as possible and trimmed the big fan leaves off everything that was done with stretch (all but the bottom right).
Thanks for stopping by. Now that I cleaned everything up and spaced it out, things have been back to the normal range. The first of these will be ready to come out in a few days. That will allow me to spread things out more. These will likely be the last flowering run in here. I may be selling it to another patient as a veg cabinet.
I pulled out my first plant, now there are only five, and it's a little less crowded. She was one of the plants I culled, J-11. She was a bagseed and is gone forever.
She barely gave me anything, 4.83 grams. Next week would have been Pineapple Express, but she went hermie on me. Next up is SLH in two weeks.
That's more like it! 8.02 grams of some great smelling Deadhead OG. She is the best bag seed I've run. Smells and tastes like a kush with a nice heady high. Perfect for a morning/all day smoke.
THC Bomb final weight was 5.97. She is officially culled from my garden. Though the nuts were on the small size, they were amazingly dense. Boring comercial taste.
I have to go back out to CA again this next week, so I went ahead and took both the Cheese Candy and the Holy Grail 69 (at 8 weeks). They both look like some of the best buds to come out of this cabinet. I'll have pics and weights when I get back.
I was going to toss some old Cheese Candy clones, but decided to put them in the filing cabinet instead. 12 of them in the MT38 pots I'm going to use in my dual-150w. Let's see what happens in a couple of months.
Here are the Cheese Candy clones after one week of 12/12. I dropped the shelf down two inches, then fed:
10 ml/gal Bio Vega
8 ml/gal Bio Boost
2 ml/gal Rhizotonic
5 ml/gal SM-90
pH 6.1, 437 ppm
Cheese Candy clones at two weeks of 12/12. Lowered the shelf another two inches and fed:
10 ml/gal Bio Vega
8 ml/gal Bio Boost
2 ml/gal Rhizotonic
5 ml/gal SM-90
pH 6.1, 655 ppm
Some statistics from my file cabinet grow:
Total / Last 9 Weeks Total Yield (g): 89.33 / 49.33 Total Time (days): 159 / 63 Average Yield (g): 11.17 / 8.22 Average Time Between Harvests: 26.5 / 10.0 Yield/Day: 0.56 / 0.78
Week three and budding is starting to set in. I pruned off the biggest four fan leaves off of the bottom of each one. I then gave them pH 6.1 water. Next feeding I'll start the Bio Flores and drop the Bio Vega.
Delicious Candy Smoke Report Info:
Formerly known as Cheese Candy by Delicious Seeds, it is a cross between Cheese (Exodus) and Caramelo. It is an indica dominant hybrid. Grow Info:
Grown in an organic soil SOG with the Bio Canna line of organic nutrients. The lighting was 86W of off the shelf LED lighting. Curing in the jar for about four weeks. Growth:
Vigorous growth, with a single dominant cola if left un-topped. She has a fair amount of stretch and makes some nice dense buds from top to bottom. Aroma:
In the jar the smell has mellowed to a nice earthy smell with a hit of fresh cut grass. Out of the grinder the smell explodes with the smell of sweet tropical fruit with a hint of menthol and yeast. When smoked the yeasty skunky smell fills the room with just a hint of fruit. Taste:
On the draw (no flame) the fruity and menthol flavors dominate. When smoked those flavors yield to a more astringent taste. On the exhale and aftertaste the yeasty cheese notes dominate. Effect:
A little narcotic, but not quite a couch lock. Gives a general feeling of euphoria with a little bit of the spins. The main side effect was dry mouth.
