haha nice….ive been putting my seedings out into the open sun too…they LOVE that shit! goes from a puny little start to a real plant in just a few days….finally up-potted the first round into 2 gal pots and have another wave of seeds in the beer cups poking through. plus i have about 300 clones in various stages, love this time of the year…assembling the plant army for action!

its good to hear you are doing an outdoor season this year.
you should start a thread so we can all see the show

I was planning on transplanting all my seedlings into 10 gal pots and putting them in the greenhouse today but looks like possible snow @ 3000ft in the foothills in the next 2 days so i'll have to wait until next week to transplant when it warms up again.

Screws do u use pots ? I use grow bags and just cut the grow bag off

we used 5gal rootpots last year and for transplant just tear them off. i have used growbags before for veg but its a bitch to cut them open and remove the plant, its easier to just tear off a fabric pot.

yeah i remember last year was a bitch getting them transplanted out of those 10gal thin skins. I may have to rinse off some 5's and make it easier for myself. thanks for the idea shcrews

@shcrews Grow bags are the easiest but most wasteful method IMO. I feel guilty using them but transplant is a breeze with grow bags 10 gallon and down. Just put in place cut sides and pull the plastic out from underneath. The more gentle you try to be the more you end up tearing roots in my experience. It's not that bad transplanting 10's even 20's nursery pots with two people just don't try to do it when the soil is wet.

i hated the 10s too and i hate grow bags even more…had my best results using the 5-7 gal plastic pots they are the best size for sure and easy as hell. the key is not pot size really but making sure they dont get root bound and stunt at this time…you want them in their final holes right as those roots start really stretchin..

this cold snap pretty crazy….dipped to 30s on my ridge too and snow was falling right up the street. gonna hold off a week as well…hopefully next year i have heating in there. my 7 gal starts are already 3-4 ft i need them outside into their 200s asap!

^yeah thats some crazy weather..it hailed pretty good last night and we got some snow on the hill. I started to transplant some of the bigger seedlings from cups to 5 gal pots today and put them in the greenhouse.
we didnt start all of our seeds at the same time so we have some plants bigger than others so the bigger ones get out first.
in the next week or so its time to install irrigation because im way over my old school hose watering for hours on end

Nice to see things coming together for you.
Are you planning to top those plants or let 'em do what they do?
