Cation exchange capacity (CEC) is the total capacity of a soil to hold exchangeable cations. CEC is an inherent soil characteristic and is difficult to alter significantly. It influences the soil's ability to hold onto essential nutrients and provides a buffer against soil acidification
The CEC is the number of positive charges (cations) that a representative sample of soil can hold
I'll keep that in mind. most grow shops only have small amounts of sulfur but im holding off on adding any regular sulfur until i get another soil test done. we got the last few pots mixed and ready this morning so now im going to let the soil chill for a month and then test again in a monthHopefully your addition of peat, and cottonseed meal will bring the ph down enough in time, however if you need a good source of soil sulfur, Espoma markets theirs as just plain out Soil Acidifier and there is a picture of a hydrangea on the package. Cheap and available at most nurseries, hardware, farm, and even big box stores. Peace.
so far i have only used Sulfate of Potash 0-0-50 and i used 4 cups per 500 gallon pot. im hoping the S.O.P along with the peat moss and cottonseed meal will lower the ph to an acceptable level. What form of sulfur are you using ?! Pure elemental ?
me tooGood luck hope it turns out better than last year! Subbed
..appreciate all the good vibesSubbed, good luck mate
so is 25 -30 a good CEC ?
i'm in for this one. You are ahead of me i still havent had my soil test or started mixing dirt!
a few big plant guys are using Bodhi seeds this year. Last year there was not so many. It will be nice to see some of those crosses in big plant form. Which ones are you going to grow? you got a pretty long list on the first page there.
StanKDanK, any idea which Bodhi gear finishes earliest? I'm shooting for the first week of October at the latest, beyond that, non-stop rain is pretty much guaranteed here in Oregon.
Stankdank what TGA gear did you grow last season? Did you do the 501 last year? I have only grown the Agent and one pheno was very nice but most patients were over it quick. We are growing the Quantum now and so far its growing well and not lanky like the description. We are hoping for a Sweet Irish kush dominant pheno.
The most fucked up shit I noticed about TGA. Subcool has his yt channel, and during the plushberry testing he said and I quote, "the plushberry will NOT be released to the public due to problems with consistent herming". He said it cut and dry on his channel, no bullshit, less than a month later it was in the lineup. WTF! We have had a few nice females from his genetics, but they are few and far between. Lots of hermaphrodites however. And some of the varieties do it more consistently than others. I just spent about an hour trying to find the video, but no success, I am not gonna look through them all. But it is true, every word.
