500 Gallon Raised Beds in the Foothills 2015

Cation exchange capacity (CEC) is the total capacity of a soil to hold exchangeable cations. CEC is an inherent soil characteristic and is difficult to alter significantly. It influences the soil's ability to hold onto essential nutrients and provides a buffer against soil acidification

The CEC is the number of positive charges (cations) that a representative sample of soil can hold

so is 25 -30 a good CEC ?

Hopefully your addition of peat, and cottonseed meal will bring the ph down enough in time, however if you need a good source of soil sulfur, Espoma markets theirs as just plain out Soil Acidifier and there is a picture of a hydrangea on the package. Cheap and available at most nurseries, hardware, farm, and even big box stores. Peace.
I'll keep that in mind. most grow shops only have small amounts of sulfur but im holding off on adding any regular sulfur until i get another soil test done. we got the last few pots mixed and ready this morning so now im going to let the soil chill for a month and then test again in a month

What form of sulfur are you using ?! Pure elemental ?
so far i have only used Sulfate of Potash 0-0-50 and i used 4 cups per 500 gallon pot. im hoping the S.O.P along with the peat moss and cottonseed meal will lower the ph to an acceptable level.

Good luck hope it turns out better than last year! Subbed :D
me too

Subbed, good luck mate
..appreciate all the good vibes

If you dont know what the CEC rating on the report means, call the laboratory and ask for explanation from the soil lab hehe

Get a response in relation to all other factors that pertain to YOUR analysis report

You need to take into account your medium with respect to CEC

CEC is not good or bad, it is the exchange capacity of medium

https://www.extension.purdue.edu/extmedia/ay/ay-238.html

This is a good read to buff up on CEC

Long story short, looks good, but ask your soil lab for info.

i'm in for this one. You are ahead of me i still havent had my soil test or started mixing dirt!

a few big plant guys are using Bodhi seeds this year. Last year there was not so many. It will be nice to see some of those crosses in big plant form. Which ones are you going to grow? you got a pretty long list on the first page there.

StanKDanK, any idea which Bodhi gear finishes earliest? I'm shooting for the first week of October at the latest, beyond that, non-stop rain is pretty much guaranteed here in Oregon.

yeah we are trying to get things done early this year before it gets any hotter. I decided to go with more bodhi gear this year cuz last year I wasted a lot of time on TGA gear and was dissapointed in most of the strains.
I liked the lucky charms last year and i saw your success so got a bunch bodhi packs..
i think i might have popped too many seeds

I wish i could help you out but I honestly have no idea
i would grow in a greenhouse if I lived in Oregon

Stankdank what TGA gear did you grow last season? Did you do the 501 last year? I have only grown the Agent and one pheno was very nice but most patients were over it quick. We are growing the Quantum now and so far its growing well and not lanky like the description. We are hoping for a Sweet Irish kush dominant pheno.

yes we had two 501st OG's last year. we had a purple pheno that yielded good and had great bag appeal and smell. I would say it might have been one of our nicest strains last year. so keep an eye out for the purple ones

well where should i begin on the tga :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:
the space bomb is the only tga i can honestly say I like and the rest of them were shitty in different ways.
Timewreck had decent yield but smelled like real dog shit
Jillybean smelled like grapefruit and yield was ridiculous low
Plushberry was the most airy bullshit buds ever seen
Cheese quake was average on smell and yield

sub claims his quantum has 30%thc LMAO I saw results from sc labs showing quantum kush in the 15 -16% range

Hahaha damn! I pulled the 501's today! They were growing horrible, long internode spacing and no branching. Leaf structure was nice and stem rub was average. We only grew half a pack so maybe the goods are still waiting. Sorry to hear about the TGA gear that's a real bummer! Fingers crossed on the quantum. Good luck with bodhi's gear but don't think you need it!

The most fucked up shit I noticed about TGA. Subcool has his yt channel, and during the plushberry testing he said and I quote, "the plushberry will NOT be released to the public due to problems with consistent herming". He said it cut and dry on his channel, no bullshit, less than a month later it was in the lineup. WTF! We have had a few nice females from his genetics, but they are few and far between. Lots of hermaphrodites however. And some of the varieties do it more consistently than others. I just spent about an hour trying to find the video, but no success, I am not gonna look through them all. But it is true, every word.

Yep, I have pretty much stated all I have to say about them. That shit is just blatantly fucked up. I have always been nice to their reps, and smoked them out, BLEW THEIR FUCKING MINDS. Make $$$$! HA

@Roosta That's sketchy and a bit scantless. We never jumped on the tga/weed need band wagon and never will. Most of his crosses I have tried have been pretty lame but occasionally you come across a nice pheno. Thanks for stopping in glad to have you!

haha crazy about TGA, for the most part his strains are pretty mediocre. mostly fruity hazy hybrids, it honestly makes me think he just makes one or two crosses from similar families and then just makes up 20 different names to sell them.

what is weird is that my favorite TGA shit was plush berry, which everyone is saying was bad. i didn't personally pop a pack, but a veteran homie in Mendo did, he found some FIRE in plush berry. some 100% purple buds with nice stack and deep fruity smell. he ended up banging a plush berry male onto the Tangie and the phenos from that cross were great, tangie dominant but with purple hues. ended up using one of those males for my Animal Tangie and those offspring are showing nice traits from the plush berry side every single pheno turns purple and has deep cherry/grape cough syrup smells.

never know with TGA! all the space queens, etc i ran from them was mediocre at best, just low yielding hazy and airy.
