i found my original order specs for the S600

First, as per BML it came with gen-1 LEDs.

According to BML May 2014: The production SPYDR is built with Osram LEDs, which will deliver 30-40% more light than our gen-1 LEDs. Compared to the competition, the gen-1 LEDs are still very efficient, but our current technology takes it to a whole new level (and $500 increase)

My original intent was that it would have 2 separate switches and 2 separate bars for veg.

Alas, they were not equipped to do that (seems they don't have the small grower in mind). Here is the compromise spectrums, which repeat 3 times per bar. I staggered the bars to minimize the venetian blind effect of the spectrums lining up across 6 bars

3K + 4K + 6500 + 3K + 625 + 4K + 3 K + 6500 + 3K + 4K + 625 + 3K + 6500 + 4K + 3K

Lumens 5116
L/W 94 (pretty good for available diodes a year ago)
PPF (umoles/m^) 83.04
Efficiency 32%
Far Red 4% (700-750)

If you have the proper distance from the canopy there should be no venition blind effect as after 5-8 inches the lights blend.

Also what has been your max yield from LEDs cuz off my htg 135 (90 draw) watt "bandaid spectrum" as you called it I have gotten about 98 grams. So for not being what YOU consider a proper spectrum has done me pretty well. I only count draw watts so I have gotten over 1gpw on a 90 watt light. You?
And the amare light only has a little morebof the green spectrum than my light everything esle seems equal. There is no magic spectrum that your light is getting that mine isn't. Just less of the middle ground between the blue and yellow.

OK, it's been a couple days under the S600 where light hours is < 12

When the clones were under the SS300, light hours were ~ 11

Damn things are growing again. And I already pinched the top ~2" of new growth when they were under the SS300

MRN Reveg

It occurred to me to pinch the top as she had ~ 10 inter-nodal shoots already

Probably will need to bring back the Cube to spread her legs and open her up

Of course you are going to defend your purchase, but throughout our PMs it is clear you are fairly new to led tech, so save your arguments for when you know more.

And please stop PMing me

The only time gpw has any meaning is when doing a comparison of the same plant grown under different circumstances

Lots of strains are great medicine, but not big yielders. I am a personal use grower, I don't really care about big yields

No it is clear YOU don't know enough about LEDs OR additive light mixing. There is literally no color yours has that mine doesn't. Yours just has a little bit more green light around the 500-600nm range. If anything mine has more colors than yours. And gpw does count when you're trying to say a light is shit . especially when I don't see you getting close to half that gpw. Hell idk if you'vegotten the same yield as my 90 watt with whatever you have. Learn how to read a graph. And I responded to your pm thats how a conversation works. Enjoy just getting .5 a watt from your $1000 investment.I'll enjoy my 1gpw from my $140 haha peace

This reply is NOT for you, but for anyone reading your misguided attempt to show how much you know, when in fact all you are doing is regurgitating the lies perpetrated by cheap led companies, whose panels are not cannabis specific

Do a search for the spectral graph for NW and WW diodes, or 300k/5000k COBs (not multi-chip!).

What you will see is they contain all the spectrums, so why would anyone want to use only R/Bs?

D
enying that plants do not need/use the ~480-600nms very efficiently, as well as to FACILITATE r/b (not the other way around), does not change the facts.

No serious cannabis specific light manufacturer uses R/B only! Their panels are primarily white diodes/COBs. Some, like Amare Technologies mixes in a few flowering specific r/b diodes to amp up the key peaks

R/B panels never were designed for the unique light requirements of cannabis

Clearly, Dj
swallowed the BS hook, line, and sinker, and can't let go.

Think about it. Would you rather have a so-called 90w ufo (more like 60w) whose surface area is ~ a 12" circle made up primarily of a bunch of r/b diodes that lack full
spectrums, continuing to deny that plants use the ~480-600nms very efficiently to FACILITATE a few r/b diodes to amp up the peaks, or suck it up and admit they fed you a bunch of BS that you swallowed hook, line, and sinker, and get with the program?

A couple things.

1: its got 135 watts of LEDs. its 90 watt draw. I clearly said that.

2: its not led propaganda its science. Google additive light mixing. Mix a handful of colors and you get white. Not to mention my led has white. As I said before, I have those ~500-600nm spectrums just slightly less.

3: " why would anyone want to isolate only R/Bs? "
Idk why would you? I seem to recall you saying that as you were going into flower you added more red. Those are separated red LEDs they're not white. So you are utilizing these only red leds you speak down on.

Im in Colorado the mecca of great cannabis and I get compliments on my shit constantly.
"tastes amazing",
"omg, that's so frosty compared to dispensary weed I buy!",
" that fucked me up! I was too high"

I don't need your approval.

I reread an article on defoliation, which I have done in the past, but chose not to for the initial MNR grow under the SS 260.

Now that I'm under a different light I decided to proceed

Will do it again in ~ 7 days

I didn't go too crazy, but here are before/after pics

Then stop posting in my thread

The LED industry has proven that cheap individual diodes, as employed in the light you are using, barely make it to 5000 hours before losing > 40% of their intensity what little intensity they have

Plenty of guys are getting outrageous results using only 500K + 3000K COBs. Amare chooses to bump both the blues and reds, but 90% of his panels are WHITE

Now go annoy your x-girlfriend but leave me alone

Haha I've looked through your pics and its clear you wouldn't know what a plant needed if it sent you a text.

"FYI, I never get cloudy or amber trichs, even looking through a jeweler's loop"-hilarious

I'm posting in your thread because you decided to mention my "INFERIOR" light. Which has been killing it. If you really knew anything you'd be able to figure out my light isn't missing a damn Thing except more power being only 90 watts. I did my research and know that my light isn't missing ANY spectrums, just power.

Regardless your plants typically look pissed off, Better light or not. Ill stay away mister "holier than thou/my research is better" lmfao

The real reason is you cannot let go of the fact that you bought a mediocre dime a dozen led panel and are hell bent to justify it

One more reply and I'm gonna start going crazy in your thread

For the rest of you who are still somehow hanging in here, check this out. It's a new led player and their info is spot on. Blows Mr pathetic out of the water: http://www.transcendlighting.com/products.html

Here's the results from a serious grower using top notch Apache Tech LED panels and his own COB drones both of which are expensive

He is barely getting 1 g/w

You can watch his YT videos GreengenesGarden

The test was not for a specific light or spectrum, just a sample of the garden. My drying lines dropped and things got mixed up early on, after that I just didn't care anymore. Treated it like a whole crop.

Yield was good. ~1g/w for the AT with 7 plants, and 1.12g/w for the cxa panel with 9 plants. About the same ~1.1 g/w for the 3K drone with 4 plants.

He should sell them and get a 135w panel

As you can see the defol has not negatively affected the plant. Did some more after taking these pics

Although the leafs are much bigger, bud development is not near as good as under the Amare, maybe it will just take longer due to so much more reds. It doesn't seem like adding the ufo 5000k has helped

I cleaned some algae building up in the clone tote, and soaked the roots in a diluted bleach, then ran them under the faucet

Also cut away dead and near dead leafs and trimmed away some of the lowest buds

Yesterday was cleaning day; pump filters/rezes + fresh nutes

Now that the rez temps are being kept closer to ideal the clones especially have responded by fattening up
:)

The reveg is doing well after second defol. Will do another round soon

After taking the pics it occurred to me to start training the branches so I added the second stack of cubes

This morning I replaced the marbles with hematite marbles. Not sure that will be additive since I already have the neo magnets, but what the H.

I will check on them every couple hours to make sure all is well

Also did some more defol

So far no negatives from adding the hematite marbles :dance013:

Buds are exploding now. Probably the biggest reason is keeping rez temps cooler, which may well help the magnetic component perform better, too,
BUT defol can't be counted out

Still looking for a reasonable chiller alternative so I don't have to flip frozen jugs. Hot plates are common, why not cool plates?

Note the bottom of the clones are done. Starting to cut them away

If you live near a city or college perhaps try getting one of those dorm fridges cheap. Kids moving out will throw them away or get em cheap on craigslist.

Pack the mini fridge full of frozen jugs

Thanks. I think I figured it out...

[FONT=&quot] I’m going to get enough copper coil to wrap ~ 10xs around a gallon jug, which I will fill/freeze with water

The 2 ends will be long enough to hang inside each rez

Not sure whether I should pinch the ends or leave them open
