I decided to reveg BM, and was thinking to try a method whereby nutrients recirculate 24/7 through a daisy chained bucket system

There may be a benefit for the roots,, but there is also the real possibility of soggy roots, which significantly reduces their nutrient uptake ability

Instead I decided to employ a technique I experimented with last year- Flooming

Flooming is what happens to water running down a river, which basically enriches and aerates the water, essentially making whatever is mixed in the water more bioavailable

When I first experimented I was trying to create a water fall (using a ~ 10" wide dust pan) with the water/nutes splashing onto a bed of polished ornamental stones some 10" below the lip. It took up a lot space, and did not provide the turbulence I was hoping for, but, I had a damned fine result combining it with a top feed Hydro Halo drip rings. Alas, the drip rings clogged from algae build up. This led me to develop my Mini-Me F & D system, which works fantastic

This time I simplified it to just having the water flow into a large net pot lid, recirculating 24/7

I will probably use a hole saw and make a hole in the net pot lid to accommodate the vertical tubing, which will make it more stable

I'm thinking to start a new thread for it

In the mean time, Midnight Rider now has tons of pistils. She's loving the extra 190 watts provided by the SS 260

You could try a cheap powerhead off of ebay. Saw a guy using rockwool slabs use them in the side troughs, kind of like your rushing river idea. I bought one and put it in my res, its fun.

I got mine for $9 + shipping I think

I decided to carefully cut away the remaining buds on BM reveg, keeping a few leafs to promote new growth

Surprisingly, I got 23gms of trimmed bud

I received an order of 1/2" marbles which replaced some of the stones in my rez. Round is better to re-energize the water

The first 2 days of harvesting the smallest buds has been drying in paper bags.

Bud weight is 23gms

The bulk of the buds (and much bigger/phatter buds) are still drying

Thought you might like to see BM all jared up. She grew under one SS 260

Note the Boveda 62* humidity pack is doing its' job. This is a large pack. I now know they are available in smaller packs, which would be good when/if moving to 1 qt/liter canning jars

Will wait about a week before final weigh in

Midnight Rider is chugging along.

I have been foliar spraying the yellow leafs to little benefit, but note the bottom bud leafs (younger) are a lovely green. They have also fattened up quite a bit under the SS 260

For your flooming idea you could easily mount an over the top aquarium filter on any tub. If you remove the filter it will act as a great aerator.

That was my first thought, too. I tried several. They don't pump fast enough. Water barley trickles. The benefit is from faster moving water

The pump I am using is 260 gpm. I could go bigger, which would probably require a funnel to catch the splash.

That would alsoy add vortexing, another benefit

Midnight Rider

Guessing she is within 10 days

Changed nutes to ~ 50/50 V+B & +Size @ ~ 400ppm

I decided to sample the BM. It's still on the moist side although humidity is 61*, it's only been jarred 4 days

Tastes on the hash side (yummy) and feels like it's gonna be a long elevator ride to the top

[Edit: one hour later] It definitely dials me down. Time as slowed way down, and I'm feelin good and introspective

No substantial changes to warrant pics, but I changed the light over BMex reveg to 24/0

2 days ago I turned off the whites over Midnight Rider and added ice bottles to the rez, hoping to trigger faster finish

Made fresh nutes for MR ~ 150ppm V + B + ~ 200ppm Size

Day 10 in the jar with the Boveda 62.

I had to open the jar daily and move the buds around as they tend to stick together

Dry weight 93gms. She sure lost a lot of weight, but the early reports are extremely favorable. One is a Jamaican who texted me twice while enjoying it (~ 2gms of samples have already been given out)

I know some of you are all about the gpw, which is only valuable when comparing a previous result to a new result using the same strain/pheno to whatever has been changed from the original result.

I know people will gladly pay $15/gm for this, meaning the 260 paid for itself twice over, and more wattage would not have added to the yield of this single plant in a 32 x 32 tent

This plant came from a back-cross, where I used a BM male to pollinate a BM female. The Skunk side of this cross is not a big yielder

This plant was closer to 50/50 sat/indica, whereas the mother and father were sat dominant

The good news is I have a bunch of seeds from her to find the sat dom expression, but it's been hot here for a couple weeks with mid 70 nights.

I will probably take a break after bringing home what's left, including the BM reveg. FYI, she has a couple tiny leaf nodes appearing now

Vortex/Flooming set up for BM reveg

Midnight Rider will go dark in 3-4 days

Midnight Rider has gone dark

I diluted her nutes ~ 50% this morning

Since then, most of the white pistils have turned.

Not sure whether going red only for 3 days did this, but looks like it's time for 3-4 days of dark.

I will reduce ppm by 50% again in 2 days, for a strong flush

I ordered a bunch of neodymium magnets to replace the iron magnets I have been using and to set up my 2 other rezes the same

It didn’t occur to me to preplan harvesting a special sat polycross MidNight Rider*. until 4/20, but that’s what happened. Honest

Took pre chop pics

She smells just like fresh peeled ripe citrus

After chopping, went to kitchen to trim

After trimming 5 smallish colas, I got the stoopid
confused_2.gif
idea to take a small toke... you know to help me concentrate while trimming

Shit, I can barely sit and type.

Buds in the frig

I finished trimming and harvested MidNightRider just a few minutes ago

She had very little primary leafs and they were quite small

However, the colas are mostly donkey dick size. The lid is 11.5" long

I left a good bit of bud on her to reveg (see pic)

Wet weight with some stem, just to hold properly 231 gms + 28gms larf

Pretty damn good for a plant that nearly died from DM Zone 'root treatment'

Placed in heavy duty paper backs into dark drying closet with fan
