Lots to report

Seedlings/Clones under 2 UFOs (3500/5000k)

I set the seedlings back in a couple ways

* The starter cubes were/are too wet- I tried to resolve this by inserting more stones between the cube and the net pot, but not enough. I then transferred them to bigger net pots, then switched from my igloo bubbler to F & D. Better but... I should have used my tried and true bubbler with an air gap. I didn't because it only holds 6 smaller net pots and I started with 9 seedlings

* I also added too much Dutch Master Zone and bleached the first set of leafs, which means I also bleached the delicate roots. Combine those two pilot errors, and I'm lucky to still have seedlings

* Pretty much Ditto for the Clones. One has small roots, but the top was droopy, yesterday I moved it to a net pot in the F & D tote. It perked up. It's under the 'dome"

BrandX WW X G13: SS300 (2 x 150)

Very happy with all the branching/bud heads after spreading the 2 main stems.

I cut the feed cycle frequency down to 1 per 3 hours only because the pump feeding the seedlings is on the same timer, and they were staying uber wet. I still need to work that out

I would need to do a side-by-side with clones to determine optimal feed cycle

Med-Man Silver Skunk: SS 260

She is stretching quite a bit. New leafs look more sat like. Definite signs she is a Big Mex

Buds below the canopy are beginning to fill in and fatten up

FYI, the Cube is ~ 19" (7.5cm) on center

Color is still wrong when turning off the reds as the white is too cool

The 2 ufos (3500/5000) looks natural, though I did not take pics of the seedling/clones today

BigMex 260

I decided to bend/snap the longest branch so I could lower the panel to better illuminate the lower branches

I received this from Amare :

U only need abou 500+ umoles to start getting the density. The recommended flowering height of 22-24" will put you at ~1100-1200umoles, which will allow for another 18" of canopy. It's at ~400@40".

I'm pretty sure the following relates to the Hi-Intensity version, which I did not get

The 260 will surpass 2000umol at 7/9", and ~1600-1700umol@15", well surpassing their light saturation point, and also the point of diminishing returns. Raise it up to at least 20", but I recommend 22-24", which will give you ~1100-1200umol, about 10-20% more PAR than a 1000w HPS (~900umol@24").

WW x G13 Solar System 300w

Be aware that this plant was started from seed ~ 2 weeks later then the Big Mex, so she is doing quite well for her age

Happy Friday 13th, not many know it's negative origin: it is renowned for the day 61 Knights Templar were murdered by the King of France back in ~ 1307 AD

WOW Wikip lies (yet again, rewriting history): There is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" superstition before the 19th century,

... on Friday the 13th, in October 1307 when Jacques de Molay, the Grand Master of the Knights Templar, and 60 of his senior knights were arrested in Paris. This day is remembered in history - it is the reason Friday 13th is deemed to be unlucky.

It's jungle down there

It's jungle down there

The title is from a true story that happened to me that predates cell phones and GPS

I was given a new sales territory in a city with all street names, no numbers.

I was lost and stopped in a hair salon to borrow their telephone book to get directions.

While I was there a woman came in and apparently didn't notice me. She asked out loud, quite loudly, "Do you do bikini waxing? It's a jungle down there"...

The Med-Man Silver Skunk/Big Mex is developing a nice jungle down there, well under the main canopy. No doubt due to opening the 3 main branches wide, tied to the 19" cube, oh and the penetration ability of the SS 260

The BrandX WW x G13 under the SS300 looks great, too, as do the seedlings and clones

Pics tomorrow

Another chilly night

Not great or the seedlings/clones, but awesome for tric production

I remembered to turn off the reds for the pics, but that provides for too cool white images. Both ways leaves a false color rendition

Replacing a few cw with nw would help photos, and not be a bad thing for the plants

Pics 2 & 4-5; SS260 and SS300 respectively, show off the jungle

Next time I'll try turning the panels off and go with just the camera flash

Update: I left the reds on and tried color correcting as best I could for today's pics

Following up on a conversation with GoldenGrower on another site, the WW x G13 (SS 300) is getting flooded every 3 hours, whereas the BigMex (SS260) has been getting fed every hour. The WW x G13 is growing quite well considering

While they are different strains under slightly different lighting (+BigMex is a couple weeks older), they are essentially getting the same nutes, so, I just increased feed interval to BigMex from one hour to 3 hours

Both rezes have one large air stone, but thinking to replace them with a small low pressure pumps (which I have) to recirculate, thereby assuring 100% circulation 24/7

Note pic of BM showing an air pot + ornamental stones. I cut down a 4 liter AP to make 2 shorter ones

The close up BM bud is 6"

Hi PetFlora! :tiphat:
Since you recommend Amare, curious to know if you know why Amare Technologies do not have pricing listed on their website? Emailed them and haven't heard back :dunno: Wanted to compare one of theirs to a SolarFlare 110 but makes it hard when they do not display pricing.

Brrrrrrr

Temp/RH inside the SS 260 tent this morning 56. I noticed some minor leaf tip curling. I checked RH, it is down to 26%.

I might need to pull out my ultrasonic fogger

I got a bright idea to heat water and put it in a 16oz thermos (lid off off course).
Didn't do much, but I put the hot water in a slow cooker (crockpot) which has a wide opening. TBC

When I went to put it in the tent, I noticed the RH had dropped to 24%. Within a couple minutes it jumped up to 27%

This is lots easier than using an ultrasonic fogger

Edit: I added the small single disc fogger. It's not doing much either. I need to pull out the larger one

Their smallest panel is Solar Spec 100, which is 100 watts actual. On another grow site one user compared it favorably to a A-51 160w panel!

AFAIK...

SolarSpec 100 (6w) MSRP @$295, Qty. 2-3 ($275), Qty, 4+($255) w/Cree option is $375, qty 2-3 ($345), qty 4+($325)

SolarSpec100: 1007umol@12", 496umol@24", 240umol@36"

Just as a marker, the Silver Skunk showed first pistils around January 28, so entering 4th week.

The BrandX is a couple weeks younger, but showed first pistils 1/30. It is budding like a mofo.

When I took it out to clean the tote yesterday, that back bifurcated branch was thick with buds

One thing I have noticed, compared to when I grew under the BML SPYDR 600, all the branches under the Solar Spec 260 (ditto SS300) are strong, so far fully capable of supporting the buds without cube support

Been busy this morning in the grow room and audio room (hooked up a new preamp- Parasound P5).

Been listening to it while readying 2 more clones WW/WH x G13 male.

I named it Midnight Rider after men and women reported how horny it makes them: longer and better sex I may have to raise the price
biggrin.gif

So I have 4 cones: 2 BigMex and 2 Midnight Riders + 4 strong Silver Skunk seedlings awaiting the finish of the current grow

Also replaced the 2 air stone air pump with 4 head, doubling the aeration in each rez. The 2 head is now on the seedling clone system

Now back to the stereo system

I usually post pics/update first thing in the morning, but the camera battery died

I am thinking to get a video camera, which I think will do a better job conveying the size

They've put on quite a bit of weight, since Thursday

Pic 1-2 is Solar System 300 Midnight Rider Buds continue to grow and fatten up

3-4 Solar Spec 260 Big Mex. Lots of trichs The gap between the nodes is closing fast.

New transplants looking good. I pinched several of the older ones. I usually wait a few more nodes, but am curious to grow shorter but wider, ala scrog

Made up fresh nutes for the babies.

No pics today, but I noticed the plants under the 5000K (including the clones) were much shorter than those under the 3500K, which had stretched quite a bit, so I did some swapping and raised the lights a few inches

cool thread.

do you have any evidence to support this claim? (the mutations and deficiencies, not eyeball damage)

thank you.

My evidence comes from both science and nature. Simply look at plants and animals in nature, as well as kept indoors, like reptiles

I am currently growing mint in my kitchen window. It's in a soil mix medium

I took a cutting and put it in my Mini-Me hydro system under the 2 ufos (3500/5000). Not only did it grow incredibly fast, but the leafs are > 4xs larger than the plant in the window, which gets very good sun light ~ 12 hours

Also, I have a company that formulates natural supplements and remedies for cats and dogs. Our arthritis/hip dysplasia protocol has reversed the condition in quite a few animals. Ditto our cancer protocol

Getting a proper balance of nutrients is essential

It is recommended to get out into sunlight a minimum of 30 minutes each day to assist in restoring/maintaining good health

Natural light spectrums contain not only the reds and blues, but obviously a ton of spectrums those lights do not
