-Why do you cut out the tea in week 3? I usually take it thru week 5.
-I add alfalfa to the tea also. What weeks do you think this is most vital?

I defoliate about a week before my plants get tossed into the flower room

I take off all the shitty lower sites that would just be larf anyway

I defol again after the 12/12 stretch, mostly all the big fan leaves

and again, just like Jack, later into flower almost all fan leaves are gone. only ones left are bud site leaves

just thought id throw in my 2c on what I do personally

theres no 1 way to defoliate

^good post. i find each strain likes her bush thinned up at different time, and to just let her tell me by trying different methods and seeing which ones respond best for my set up.

Jack what youre talking about doing and what people who promote the bro science practice of defoliation are doing are different, theyre talking about removing all the leaves thru veg and all weeks of bloom, not at the end of the cycle gradually..fwiw...bless

Got to disagree here. Most people I see doing what is often referred to as "defoliation" (though the term isn't being used correctly) are removing only a percent of the total leaf mass at one time, not stripping every leaf all at once like you are implying. Jrosek or whatever his name was that popularized the total defoliation method for a short time stripped everything, but many people quickly found out most plants don't respond well to that level of stripping, but do respond very well when leaves are taken gradually from the time stretch has ended until chop.

Jack did you ever get you Gavita's turned 90 degrees for proper light overlap? Gavita's have a light foot print of roughly 4x5. The position I saw them in, in your pics has them giving the least amount of light overlap and could be part of the problem on why your seeing more growth from your other lights.... Also not sure on the distance your keeping them at but during my veg I was only running them at 600-825W and kept lights at 20-23 inches above canopy. I flipped to flower 3 days ago and turned lights up to 1000W and plants seem to be really happy with lights at 27 inches above canopy. And I'm running the very same light to table ratio you are. Two 4x8 tables with 3 Gavita's hung above. I built out my scrog tables so they are 5 ft wide. Here are some pics I took this morning. Day 3 of flower. Notice how my lights are oriented, this is the way you want your lights for proper light overlap.

Everyone can relax and get off jacks nuts. Just csuse he's one of the better growers out there doesn't mean he can't make a mistake. Thought lights were hung wrong. Was offering some help. What height u running the gavita's at jack?

Any dosage recommendation for the canna booster?

Jack, haven't seen you touch on the 2000 ppm foliar feeding since you first mentioned it. What's in the foliar besides Canna Boost or is it just Boost? How many times a week are you foliar feeding with that dosage? Do you foliar feed on Aptus plus base days also or just on the base days?
