local ice is gone so my local spots for bass perch and crappie are off limits.I have to go 70 miles north east for ice and eyes.

I wanna hit up some impoundment tailraces this week in Wayne and pike counties in pensy this week.

nice walleye. they should start upstream spawning run soon here if the males aint already done so. larger females move a couple of weeks later...warmer weather/warm rain entering rivers MIGHT get them moving earlier.:woohoo: i'm dying waiting for them. water still too muddy from runoff right now to go try for them. idiots near here keep driving into flooded roads & needing rescues. i say let the morons drown...

I picked up 3 (18-19 inch) walleye just under the protected slot limit, got lucky, the other anglers mostly caught a mess of smaller fish (some keepers though) but Billy got a nice 28" 'eye, he released it even though he could legally keep it.......

K+ Billy ;)

if not for my arthritis I'd have been angling on the ice today, a good seat & heat in that Ice Castle go a long way for comfort, it's like a small apartment in there. :)

just broiled up 2 walleye fillets, wished I'd had some seafood stuffing to make stuffed walleye, simple to make.

Tell Billy I'm sending him some karma points. I always release my biggest for someone else to catch. Let them grow. Lol

First day that March is included on the 10 day forecast, spring is on the way!

Been out ice fishing half dozen times this year, shit ton of yellow perch where I'm at in northern New England, its nothing to catch 100 between you and a couple buddies. few bass sprinkled in, pike fishing is slow this year.

Anybody fly fish? Thats gonna be on my list to learn this spring

80 tomorrow here at Folly Beach. Yesterday there were beautiful 4 foot swells with not a hint of chop. I went out for 3 hours. So much fun.

yellow perch are as good eating as walleye, same family, same tasty white flaky meat as walleye. When my back was in better shape we'd chase perch on the big lake here, as you're catching them you watch thru the ice @ which direction the school is swimming; when the bite died we'd move 100 yds away and start drillin' & catching all over again, we'd also easily fill 5 gallon buckets full until they finally put a limit on them.

in the summer season we hear when jumbo perch are biting hard & we go out n' slay them, fill your freezer in short order.
