I wasn't really thinking about mold when I asked about humidity.
I made a DIY AC/intake cooler once, but since it works by water evaporation and radiators, and isn't that efficient at high humidities.

About PL-Ls, would you say any brand of 55w in the proper temperature are okay? There's a 13 USD gap between Philips PL-Ls and "Plusrite" bulbs, despite sharing the same specs.
Also how much headroom are your bulbs using? Can't be much more than 5cm I imagine... I have ~10cm (4") of laminar-flow cooled lighting headroom... How much do you think I can shave?

Anyone made canna pills? That's where the popcorn is going. I found more popcorn on the branches from when I originally cut it to dry. This is 5.2gm and should make a fair few caps. I started water curing it tonight. Gonna WC more soon for my glycerin tincture.Hope all is well.
yess I did make them befor. I grinded up popcone buds put all the grinds in the empty pills. filled them up nice and tight.
I loved them. woo eee.

I don't know the Plusrite bulbs at all. But I can tell you a little secret about multiple bulb lamps.
We all love growing an inch from the flouro light source, but as soon as you have them close together the rules change.
If you imagine the light emitted from a bulb as a "cone", every time the area of a cross section is doubled, the amount of light is halved. Simple.
But if you hang your bulbs close enough to each other , and you make sure that when ever a cross section is doubled, it gets hit by light from twice the amount of bulbs. The space between lamp and plants become much less important, and you can worry about giving the buds some cooler air instead

Pedro, cheers, I bought an air conditioner because it was so cheap and barely used much power, and I figured it would lower the humidity too. I got it home and then researched, and realised it was an evaporative cooler! Useless in this weather.
But the cooler will make a great grow chamber of course

Now most of the cuts are dead/dying anyway I suspect it's too hot ambient, it's about 84f right now and it's night time! I dunno though. I sure hope I can reveg the keepers from this run.
Howdy Helis. Personally I wouldn't get the cheap ones but you'd have to look at their spectral output to make an informed decision. But on the other hand you don't neccesarily need Philips. I would take a look for some other decent brands. Osram springs to mind - they were the cheapest on ebay when I bought my 36w's, and they look decent to me. Got a 24w Osram 2700k in the vert grow and it seems to be doing what it says on the box
I try to have the tips of the tips about 1cm from the bulbs. Because I have big gaps this run between the bulbs, I also grow up into that space, beside the bulbs.
Speaking of which, I got the ballast wiring explained in person today so I should be good to go when the bulbs turn up.

From the reflector/roof it's 3cm or so to the bottom of the bulbs. So, I aim to have the buds 4cm from the roof in other words. They're very slim like that.

Either way my intent in shaving the 4" I have designated to lights is to reclaim some medium-to-bulb (plant height) distance, as I will also be losing some installing my E&F table for next round. Looks like the lights will sit in the top 2" of the cab now that I've had some time to tinker around in there.

and Scrub, I'm looking for just a good all around strain. I don't know a thing about which ones are best, like I heard BOG is good, and I liked what I saw, but is he just selling the same thing other people are selling but for more money?
Hey bro my Dyna x PD males dropped there load fucking everywhere then went belly up with no indication at all except that it must of been too much flowering for them so hard and quick, well I've got heaps of seeds coming along with some f2's in the making of the Dyna's and some mixes of the indica and sativa phenos from my Lot 2's, hopefully they are all viable and will create some fun crosses. Should have some new pics for everyone soon. Things are looking good @ your place bruz.

Helis, I've found if you get roots, you've succeeded! It just takes longer for them to actually grow because they're reverting back to veg before the top will grow. I'll try to find some old pics with revegged cuts. They look strange for a while. A lot of the first cuttings I ever took were of flowering plants and I always got 100% for a long time. I'm currently thinking it's either the heat, or too much air exchange/need domes, but I hate domes and need the air exchange, lol.
No burning on the vert bulb! It's quite cool to touch the bulb all over, with two fans on it. Occasionally some leaves will get slightly scorched on the edge or something, but generally no bad effects. Budlets have rested on the bulb/base without burning.
M-Saur - I can't speak for cheese, but you'd want some form of oil in there to break down the thc if you wanted max effectiveness. I'll be doing a hybrid of the techniques discussed here. There is no good info on pills on ICmag that I can find. Commercial interests may be involved from what I can tell.
As far as strains, I'm not too familiar with BOG but I know he's respected. The BOG Lifesaver on SeedBoutique is about $100aud which seems fair enough, I guess. Sometimes people will sell F2s cheaper so perhaps that was what you were looking at? If you get them from a reputable place they should be the same seed, even if different price.
If money's an issue, look to Nirvana and the other cheapies (F2s) and you should get some keepers.

What killed mine was that I cut them back massively, then had them in only the secondhand light from the vert bulb for a coupla days, then they were wilted and it was game over. I tried repotting to a smaller pot and even stripped one back to the jiffy, but too late. Strange that yours carked it too eh! Best of luck with those seeds

Here are some old pics I found of cuts taken from an Afghan in flower. The first one shows the roots, once you got them, everything is gonna be a-ok I put mine in harsh tropical sun at that stage no probs. I trimmed off some of the buddage but they would have been several weeks into flower.
And I believe this is one of those cuts 18 days later. First comes the mongy reveg leaves, then normal growth.

And the other 2 went out bush in tiny pots and weren't looked after very well.
I think they're a nirvana afghan these ones - slow growing, but great smoke.
