FYI: this thread is much better when you filter the posts

All of Blaze's threads end up like that, unfortunately. Assholes seem to flock to his threads like starlings.

If you don't filter, you end up bashing your head into the keyboard screaming "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET THE MAN GROW!"

Or so I've heard... :joint:

Great Pics Blazeone, It's nice to see the quiality side by side shots, and just how you choose the pics, I like it.

It does seem the buds are juuust a bit ahead on the hid side buuuut I do personally think led grown plants take a few days longer to switch from veg to flower, I bet they catch up!!

I am starting to believe that the led's defiantly let the plant grow with way less stress and it has its benefits for the plant in the long-run. I just don't really have anything to prove this but it has been my experience with led's...

GO LED's!!!!

Looking real nice blaze. I've been checking out the other comparisons on this site, and a few others, and I am really impressed. Very curious to see what the final product is going to be like. Hopefully this thread can go on without anymore haters dropping in.

impressive results with that LED, lots of people tend to forget this thing is half the wattage of the HID and the plants almost look identical...thanks for this grow show blaze, I'm learning a lot:tiphat:

Thanks for this wonderful thread.

I am rebuilding my cab over the next month and the thread has cause me to rethink the design. The result is:

CFL for seedlings and clone chamber

LED for veg chamber and first 1/2 of flowering

400W HPS and LED for finish

So far it's HID by a length!
The buds are fuller.
On da odder han', dere not twice da size.

I'm awaiting the final tally with breath abated.
(Turnin' blue ovah heah)

If the hid buds are not 2 Zs heavier than the LED buds, I'll be sticking with leds.
(Assuming equivalent potency n taste of course.)

The reasoning 'roun' here is skewed, by da way we get screwed, by HELCO, our fre'n'ly power company.
We pay north of fiddy cents per KWh.
So, the HID would run me 'bout $720 US, mo' dan da LEDs for a bud run.

Great job so far brah!:bis:
Take a bow!

Aloha,

After skimming through this whole thread every couple of pages I'd only use LED's to maybe pre-veg or clone orfor side lighting on a high power HID setup.

Hey Blaze you got the time to now combined the two lights in one grow?

Anybody think LED's can help out in the cloning department for them hard to clone strains? Use LED's that have the proper wavelengths of light for photosynthesis.

oh yeah one more thing hey Al Gore why LED's gotta be so damn exspensive?

Howzit brother..?? Hope yer well and life is treating ya good.. I would say HID is starting to pull away from LED... Fatter for sure and nugs seem to be more connective on HID. I would agree with someone else saying LED for veg and cloning IF they were not so expensive.. Great work on this side by side thanx for sharing with us all.. peace n pufs..

Yeah at this point the LED seems to be lacking a little in the flower department, Perhaps it will catch up over the next 4-6 weeks. I have no clue but as I stated previously it is what it is, What it will be it will be....

We will soon see whether it compares or not...

I used to run a hollowed-out double-door fridge with a cooltube & a 250 watter in there. If I had access to the 215 watt LED's @ that point in time, I would have been able to nearly double my yield, I'm sure. How you ask? Because not everyone's situation is the same!

If I wouldn't have had to cram a cooltube in that fridge, I could have had (2) 2x2 trays in there instead of only one. The fridge was over 6.5 feet tall, so after subtracting the 3" for the light and 6" for the space between plants & LED, and I'd still have over 2.5' of vertical space for each tray. Not bad considering I ran lots of small indicas that were flowered right after the clones rooted!

I haven't done the micro grow thing in years, but my point is that the LED technology is already helping, or could be helping, a lot of growers out, even if not in a conventional way.

Keep up the good work Blaze, we're all anxiously awaiting your updates.

I'll postpone my judgments until dry harvest weights are in.

From what I've read on other led threads, their buds are nearly twice as dense.

Hey Blaze how does the wobble of the tops compare?

You might be able to actually better compare actual bud weight vs. just observing the size.

I think I'll wait until the results are in all I can speak from is lookin touching and observing, Right now the HID is thicker denser and more filled out. Does this mean the led wont come back nope not at all, That remains to be seen. Right now the hid is much heavier and thats from a inside perspective.

There is still a long ways to go yet, Way to early to try and assume a certain outcome. When the dry weight is in we will no without doughts. I mean really they are very comparable density wise, but the hid per cola is heavier, again though the led has more branches....

We will know the facts in at most 6 weeks....

Hey Blaze. Thanks for sutch a nice treath!

As the setup is now maybe the hid will yeld highest, but with the LED way, You would be able to stak smaller grow caps(in hight for exsempel) or small erea where HID would be way to HOT! You could have maybe 2 or 3 grows on top of eatch other, and still controll heat?
That way LED would could yeld better, on the same erea as HID...

But anyways thanks for a nice read..
