As far as anti us terrorism Afghanistan is probably the hot spot right now. There are thousands of trained fighters we abandoned over there. Pretty easy to get them to go after the people that left them for dead.
The question might better be asked as to how these places hate the US? I doubt it's because of 'our freedoms'. Liberties, maybe. Like the liberty we take in violating others' boundaries. Those liberties, perhaps.

Another common delusion is that our foreign escapades are a result of our concern for those foreign populations, as opposed to opportunism for corporations the US sees as deserving of extra access, and strategic military footholds to appease the State Dept's boundary challenged wish lists..
