Cities and Counties/Boroughs invite industry in and give them tax breaks up the ass hoping for windfalls later on down the road.

We've even forfeited some residential air space in the Fairbanks North Star Borough in order to afford the military being permitted to break the sound barrier with fighter jets at lower altitudes, because the Borough is aware of the boost to the economy that the military really represents.

Even tax breaks for contractors for local housing in the North Pole area for what was anticipated to be off-base housing for the new families coming in to support the F-35's.

The local Borough spent close to a cumulative $1 to $2 million to romance, and wine and dine the DoD into placing the F-35s here at Eielson Air Base at a time that the F-35's were notorious for poor cockpit sighting in re. to the pilot's ground view, they performed poorly at that time in cold weather, and we are much further from the Coast than Elmendorf Air Base in Anchorage.

And that ignores the history, however limited, of military aircraft crashes in or near residential areas.

Actually the amount of aid has been pretty much the same for a long time including during the trump administration. There was a recent spike in military aid after the October 7th attack by Hamas. The Republicans controlled the House so they were part of that increase. So it isn't just the "dems" giving money to Israel. It's a bipartisan charity. But it's strictly military aid so they can defend themselves. But they need to start paying for it themselves.

I'm glad that the economic aid stopped after Obama took office and hasn't resumed. Israel doesn't need economic aid. The Democrats ended that.
