Sounds EXACTLY like the two guys you want with their fingers on the big red button while dictating foreign and domestic policies. Never mind their history of pro-Wall St corporate sponsorship... errr. I mean ass-kissing, and Wall St. ownership...

Of course, with corporations basically running the show anyway, we likely won't notice much difference, except for the amount of shit the commoners have to swallow in the process.

Yeah, lets allow this 'vote for the lesser of two evils' thing to grow even more prominent and less responsive to the people of the Country.

One day this nonsense will hopefully appear in a macro or systemic study of masochism and group Stockholm Syndrome.
It’s very easy to disempower the huge corporations. Our reliance on technology to make our lives “easier” has reduced our own personal agency. All it takes is for everyone to decide to stop being consumers, and start being producers.

So yeah, we’re fucked.

A mass exodus out of metro areas would be a good start. Big business doesn’t scale well in rural low population density areas.

they own our government, politicians, most of the land & resources, and control most of the money supply.

general workers strike and a socialist revolution is the only way out or else we can continue going down the road to neo-feudalism.

to finish off whats left of a once fine country
do you think capitalism is an immortal infinite system? it did it's job, and now for the last 40+ years it's eating itself. although this was predicted by marx, you don't need to be a marxist to come to this conclusion.

i view economic systems on a linear evolutionary scale.... slavery was the dominant system then it collapsed and made way for feudalism to become the dominant system only for it to collapse and make way for capitalism, which became the dominant system and is now collapsing. we can either choose to continue collapsing into neo-feudalism and fascism or we can go the way we're supposed to towards a more socialistic system.

Capitalism isn’t the problem. The way our politics is funded is the issue.

If all campaigns were publicly funded, and all elected federal officials required to adopt a basic “poverty” vow during their term limited time in office, and years after, we’d be better.

They should not be allowed to earn anything but their salary while they work, and their severance pay for 5 years after.

im not disagreeing but this is a temporary fix. then in 10 years down the road when they figure out how to craft arguments against what you just said, and put in a government that erases all of this progress, what then? do it again and just keep going in some back and forth game?

these people have infinite resources. they will do whatever it takes to stay in power. figured that was pretty clear when they tried to overthrow the govt with Smedley Butler lol.

but yes on another topic it is definitely a problem our economic system is undemocratic and exploitative and the excess profits of our stolen labor is also used to steal our democracy and our govt from us.

this is a good point, campaign reform should be a major issue in politics
but it wont be
both side make too much off it and the people who buy the influence are reaping the benefits of their donations
plus the media and all the others involved
/the media loves campaign season where " they" but up all the commercial ad space?

capitalism isnt the problem, but money driven politics is not democracy

Cronie capitalism and corporate welfare fit neatly into the money driven politics. They are an integral part of this. And predatory capitalism eventually kills itself off. No Marxists necessary.

Exactly. Money should buy you all the material items you ever wanted, but zero political power.
