Post your soil analysis....

Ok. I was going to wait for my N's testing to come back. Little embarrassed how these numbers came out. Much different than my numbers a month ago from Logan........

This analysis is a spectacular example of the mis-reading or mis-interpreting the issues of calcium using Melich 3 when using lots of carbonates, crab, oyster, dolomite, etc...

Result? Yep. Calcium deficiencies.

In this case, with more sodium in the soil in terms of base distribution, sodium is replacing potassium in the plant. Not good.

This particular sample results is very strange though. I asked the guys at the lab to retest the [email protected], as having more calcium in AA compared to M3, makes no sense.

Can you also explain why the optimal range for sodium saturation would be 0-10%. What the hell kind of crop grows best in 10% sodium saturation?

Can't wait for my N tests to come back. I have a feeling I am at zero, but Slownickle thinks I have lots of N. We shall see.

Slownickel's advice was to bump the Calcium, Manganese, potassium and copper in my soil levels. Foliar in Mg, Ca, Mn, K and Cu.

I am guessing I am done with the woo woo juice for a season in the soil, huh slownickel?

Another question slow nickel. How long before I can test the soil again after fertigation? Can I send out more samples this week to see how we did? I always retest after amending. True data.

It reads like you aren't going to use PHT Ca and K and the salute micronutrients ? Seems like they would get you all the elements you're looking for when applied in correct dosages , curious what you plan to buy and use instead of the stuff you already have and why you're choosing to do so.

Good job retesting after applying the RX. Gotta see what happens right ?!

I used some sulfates.

I am not quite ready to say it, but I am close. AEA is possibly not for me. Too much guessing from products that continuously change. For sure switching to Baicor micros.

Why do you want to work that hard?

Have you ever tried an inline diaphragm pump and a good spray gun ? You'd be surprised.

One can find 12V diaphragm pumps that will go up to 70psi for less than $80.00 and a good spray gun costs around 30-40. You can use a pickle barrel or pretty much anything for your tank. I like NSF rated food safe containers though

Thanks for sharing your soil journey with us, FF. It's helpful and fun to watch.
For sure, thanks for joining the journey. Seems like we all could hone our skills for a better next season. Hope this thread helps everybody get there, including myself.

I had a 25 gal sprayer from the farm store, but that got ruined during my Rejuvenate explosion. You just can't get molasses out of a motor.

Now that you mention it, I have been going back to basics on a few things. Ditched my old multi function sprayers for some Dramm 1000pl heads and wand. Been ditching the sprinklers and hand watering.

I have a 250 gallon IBC tote that I pump out of. I have an electric on demand pump that pushes 50-60psi while running. I have been considering getting a dramm fog head and using that in junction with my IBC tote, pump and garden hose.

Care to comment on if I am on the right track? Got a link or two for me?

Edit: also, you ask if it's that hard. Well, trial and error for us that don't have other growers to consult with. I will get there eventually, or die trying.

Also, if you think that back pack sprayer is hard work.......I was doing 2-3 hours at a time with a 2 gallon hudson handheld fogger.

If you can make my life easier, I am all ears.

It's insulting to the people who take time to post to help you when you say you don't have other growers to consult with because that's exactly what this forum provides you the opportunity to do. Don't be such a defeatist or pessimist... It's like with the soil tests. Don't be your worst enemy.

Look up dramm fogg-it if you want to turn your wand in to a fogger

I spray rejuvenate through a diaphragm pump all the time works great I just flush with clean water.

Did you try TSP to clean the pump and motor? That's really good to clean up organic messes

Well hard work is relative. One or two even three passes with a 4 gal backpack sprayer isn't bad because you can fill up 3 5 gal buckets mix them all at once and keep them bubbling, or not even bubble it and just stir it really well and pour...

But we are up to 120-140 gallons to spray everything right now so literally 30 rounds with a backpack sprayer at 32lbs of water weight plus the backpack sprayer weight... OSHA says NO WAY! And that's a major concern if licensing is in your future
