visited the outdoor dry stuff , no mold so all is well , some of it is well over a week now

The present paper dealt with the mycelial growth, sporulation, conidium germination and appressorium formation of Botrytis cinerea in relation to the incubation temperature and spore age. The optimum temperature for mycelial growth on PSA medium was in the range of 24-28°C, and the maximum and minimum temperature seemed to be at O° and 35°C

At this juncture I should probably fess up to being obsessed with the grey satan.

mycelial growth = the horrible grey fuzz we know as mould I think they are the fruiting bodies of botrytis or something like that.

Any chance of a more detailed explanation of how you do it Tonto?
Is there even a tarp over them or are they uncovered?
Fan leaves left on?

put up some lines in a forest(no tarp), close enough to the edge to get enough air flow but no rain, then hang up canna branches and start plucking fan leaves , then give a rough trim (very leafy bud), come back couple days later, if theres no mold leave it then till theres room inside to dry.

i experimented with a few places last year and everything molded over night, got very lucky finding my spot now + great view when trimming

after seeing the results of a silica boost to plants im feeling pretty good about next year and the usual mold fight, certainly going to be growing alot more purple widow

My last 2 plants were cut on the 23rd so it`s all down to the drying room now , smells like a floral pot farm in there , gonna be a good xmas .

LOL funny sig tonto. Man I can't wait for summer. A bright desolate field in the middle of nowhere, radiating heat, sounds so nice right now.

im hoping karmas at play and all this snow entitles us to a scorching summer, snows helped me find a load of new spots that im going to start on them after christmas, outdoor growing is turning in to a 10 month hobby.

kicked of the 2011 season prep a few days ago by topping a load of trees, was going to another site however and found some farmers chopping trees down close by, hoping its just maintenance and not a land grab, site has raised beds so i really dont want to lose it.


any one decided on what their putting out?

Grim reefer: i was asking if putting 1m height plants outdoors after the last frost after hardening them off would prematurely induce flowering going from 18hrs light indoors to about 12-14 hours in early mid april. Should I wait until there are more hours light outside - until may sometime? Trying to grow the biggest plant possible for this climate.

Hey guys I know this is an old post but if you are still trying to figure it out, try this; I grow outside in western Canada and I have to wait til after the 3rd week of May to get past frost, and sometimes thats not long enough we had killing frost and snow at the end of may last year. anyhow I used to start indoors and move them outside and would look up the light period of the time I wanted to plant and what it was at the time of starting them, ie if May 24, 20105:07 AM9:27 PM16h 19m 46s and I want to start them at beginning of May May 1, 20105:46 AM8:49 PM15h 03m 32s
so I give them 15 hrs and 3 minutes of light, then every few days I up the light period to match the outside and by the time you set them out you'll be near matched at 16hr 19minutes of light and then it will continue to veg until the light starts decreasing after June 21st.
I use this sun calculator to work things out with, you would set it to show for your closest city or area.

I have a type of plant of my own breeding I grow here that I just seed to the ground and it finishes by itself by mid september. I found it was to absolutely no advantage to start them indoors as in finshing time and quantity/quality
