High, wally! While it is true that the llama manure I used is only 1-1-1(or 2-1-1) at best, consider the fact that I used 3 gallons or more for each plant!

I like llama and bovine manures better than Chicken manures partly because they are also soil texture improvers(as you mentioned), they help to loosen Clay soils, and help sandy soils hold moisture better.
Basicly they help improve the soils as a whole because they have a higher Carbon to Nitrogen ratio than Chicken manure. They contain more organic materials.

Chicken manure is a great fertiliser for situations where you mostly just need a massive Nitrogen boost, but I also need help with improving the soil texture as well.
And personally I find that Guanos are much lighter and easier to carry for their NPK ratios than most commercially available chicken composts.

Also, I like the NPK ratio of llama manure, 1-1-1 is pretty balaced, you can't argue with that! The plants I grew this year are my largest non-greenhouse plants ever!

You got a great mixture there, the year that i grew them 5lb plus plants i was using Espoma's Plantone nutes, it is derived from poultry manure w/ blood and bone meal, greensand, kelp meal, ect. really great organic mixture, it almost seemed like the nutes were made just for growing ganja ,first time in 15 years of growing i had ever had such enormous plants using organic nutes, organics rule!!!

I am wanting to try Buffalo manure , a friend of mine has truck loads of it delivered from a Missouri Buffalo farm to his garden every year and this guy grows some of the biggest damn cucumbers and tomatoes ive ever seen.I know one thing for sure ,Oregon folks grow the biggest pumpkins ive ever seen.

Been doing some early clipping and trimming on the Female seeds Purple, only one left to finnish. The purple girls are averaging 1/4 lb per plant. Very (and I mean VERY) easy to clip.....take off the sun leaves and shave with a big sicors and I am left with rock hard buds after drying. I have 22 more females to finnish yet, because I grow about 10 diff. strains, harvesting and manicuring shold be spaced out for about a month or so, man that helps. I'm hoping for about 7-10 lbs all said and done. My friends and I should be able to smoke all year without buying anything. The seed project is going great, have harvested, catagorized, and stored approx 1000 seeds thus far. Would like to get some of these crosses out to you guys......any suggestions?

your plants are looking huge BC. can't wait to see all those pretty colours!!!

I noticed u were interested in the flowering of weed plants and i have a nice little spec for ya. I am growing some of luna's NL 47s and mine starting flowering the first week of july!!!. they are all between 55-65 days of flowering now and i will be harvesting some this weekend. If this early flowering interests u check out my thread and i can give u more specs.

I don't use the steer manure out at the guerilla gardens, only for the vegetables... Too much water to carry for the amount of nutrition it supplies... A very good soil conditioner though!

I used chicken manure as a top dressing last year, worked well. Guanos were used this year because like you said, they're lighter and easier to carry for the amount of nutrients they supply.

I'm going to make it a point to fertilize the plots this fall, and hopefully I'll be able tio get a green manure/cover crop established to help boost soil nitrogen.

wallyduck- I use various Guanos for feeding, and there are many varieties. The most common types are Bat and Seabird guanos, with in those types are many different ratios of NPK, older ones usually have a higher ratio of Phosphate, newer ones are higher in Nitrogen.

When I use Guanos, I use "Down to earth" brand, they are distributed by a older organic gardening supply in Eugene Oregon, here is their website- Down to Earth

I usually use their 3-10-1 Bat guano as a bloom feeder, I used the last of a 5 lb bag a few weeks back, and have since been using Miracle grow bloom booster for feeding during bloom.

For basic veg fertiliser I have used their 12-8-2 Seabird guano mostly, either as a side dressing or in a tea(or soup if you like).

Most sacked chicken manures commecially available in my area are like 2-1-1 or 4-3-2 at best, but they are poor quality due to the fact they are lousy with excessive bedding materials like saw dust.
I'm sure that a guy with access to a Chicken coop could get much stronger quality manure(like 6-4-4 or so), and I am sure this is more the quality your were refering to.

A Chicken coop is on the list for Spring 2008, its been many a year since we had Chickens on the ranch here, and the old coop has long ago been scraped clean, I think the last year I used this very old and high grade fertiliser was in 2002. I like the eggs, fresh meat, and fertiliser these birds make.

I do promote the use of Chicken manure for Cannabis growing, it is the most common fertilser available in front of many grocery stores here in the states(organic or not) after Steer manure, and can be very cheep. I especially promote the use of Chicken manure/Steer manure blends for people with poor soil(Clay or Sandy).

I guess what it boils down to is that Steer/llama manures are best for poor soils, perhaps with the addition of Chicken manure or Guanos, and if your soil has good texture, its best to use only the strong stuff like Guanos or Good chicken manures.

In order to get the same affect I would with a higher NPK fertiliser, I simply used lots of the lower NPK fertiliser.

The weight was not a problem with the llama manure because I dried it prior to hauling, more the problem was bulkiness.
I actually think my NPK was closer to 2-1-1, or even 3-2-2 or more since my stuff has no bedding material(known as a "short" manure) and also since I used lots of stuff that was less than one month old.

Each plant recieved about 5lbs of llama manure, which once you break down the NPK and poundage is about 22.8 to 45.6 grams(if it was 2-1-1) of Nitrogen per plant depending on the actual NPK of my manure.

This year I used a 10-2-1 guano for veg and Foxfarms 0-6-0 guano for bloom...

Last year Super Bat brand guano (5-5-1) was used for veg and Budswell guano (0-7-0)was applied before bloom.

Glad to hear youll be keeping chickens next year! It'll pay off in more ways than one!

 BC, whats your opinion on rabbit manure, ive read its 1 of the best, also read that you can put fresh rabbit manure right on plants without burning them...

Peace :canabis:

masterlow37-Hey there! All I know about Rabbit manure is that it is very mild, and similar to llama manure in many ways, I believe it may have a slighty higher Nitrogen content usually, but I have no Rabbits and have never used it......
Looking around the net I see NPK figures of 2.4-1.4-0.6 at several sources, making it a fairly good basic vegging fertiliser with the addition of a bit more Potassium.

And now..... A HM#3 update!
It started raining while I was at my plot yesterday, just in case the pictures look extra shiny.
It was about 9 days since my last visit, and we had several 95-100F days in that time, so I was fearing for them, but they looked fine! We ended up getting almost a half inch of rain yesterday, plus I soaked them good with spring water.

There has been a increase of activity in the areas around some of my plants, it looks like Loggers may be setting up to do some work. I'm not really too affraid any of my stuff might get found, but it still makes me nervous, oh well....its all a part of the game.

Lookin great! Congratulations on the rain! Hope it doesn't come too much too late though....

Excellent budshots, they're filling out pretty quick! It looks like there is a glob of amber sappy resin in the second picture, the first budshot, on the left side of the bud. I've seen people post questions about it before. Its likely an insect causing it....

Or is that just a water droplet?

Gotta love those bright magenta pistils on the C99 x OR 95!

Hope you and the loggers are able to keep out of each other's ways!

Thanks pipeline!

I think that spot might be something that dropped out of a nearby tree, maybe a bit of tree sap.

Its almost assured that I will get rain towards the end of the season, more than I want, but maybe the weather will get more dry, I guess we will see.

I tried to place my plants away from things of interest, like harvestable timber, so I hope no one stumbles through any of those brushy areas.
