You can see a couple bugs in the upper corner of the bag that must have been shook out of the male flowers.

Yea they look kind of gnarly BC! Great work though they are really big.

star crash- I have indeed found in past years that my C99 seedstock will be finished by Sept 30th, especially grown in strong sunshine. I usually like to let it go through mid-October to get to my prefered ripeness. But I am seeing very advanced blooming, these plants are like 3 weeks ahead of where either C99 or OR95 would be.
I've also seen nearly this much earliness in a plant that is significantly younger(about a month) than the one at HM#1, she is a C99 x OR95 at my seed growing plot. This seems to knock out my theory that it is the age of the plant at HM#1 that is causing her early bloom(and apparently finish).
The earliness is probably caused by several factors combined with the genetics, I will be sure to plant seeds from both early C99 x OR95 next year, and see if the same thing happens. I think I will also test smoke buds from both near Sept 30, and see if they taste and stone enough, I may have a super good early harvest strain here, not perfect finish, but could be harvested and smoked early in needed.

Caligreen and newrandude, thankyou!

Autumn just keeps rolling in, soon I won't have to water very much, if at all. And I am looking forward to setting by a wood stove this winter, with my pipe or vape loaded with good outdoor.

This summer never got hot enough to annoy me really, usually by the time I see Fall start rolling in I am welcoming the cooler temps, but this summer never inspired me that way. I am looking forward to it though, especially that day where the last plant has been dried, and trimmed and goes into storage, safe and sound. I can't say I won't be happy to leave that growers "paranoia" behind for the year.

I'm still hoping to get out for a hiking trip to the hills, family buisiness is forcing me to keep reducing the scale of my trip from a 3 day expedition, to a overnighter on a shorter trail and smaller lake lake closer to home. But by god, I'm gonna make it to the mountains one way or another before it gets too damn cold!

This is the kind of place I want to visit-

Took a trip out to the C99 X OR95 seed growing plot

Took a trip out to the C99 X OR95 seed growing plot

Decided I would share some pics of these plants. They are younger than the C99 x OR95 at HM#1, 3, and 4 by about a month, and have been kept in pots, so I can move them from hiding place to hiding place.
Usually they have been kept under deep cover, but a blooming set in I moved them to much sunnier places.
Group shot: The lighter colored plant in front center is gift from a freind, it is supposedly Trainwreck of some kind, more later-

This is the biggest plant at this plot, she is nearly 6' tall-

A leaf and buds from a "Trainwreck" plant-
77109-09-07_Trainwreck.jpg

I recieved 2 plants from a good freind of mine who has been collecting seeds for me across California and Oregon. They outgrew their indoor grow space, and my friend had been having trouble with heat and Spider mites. He decided it would be a good idea if he gave me a couple so I could breed them and possibley squeeze more bud out of them outdoors than he could indoors with his present situation.
They had been on 12/12 for about 2 weeks when I recieved them nearly 2 weeks ago, and they went outside.

The plants were originally started by a freind of his from seed, and this freind claims that they are Trainwreck, although we do not know where he got the seeds, and can't confirm anything more specific.
When I heard they were supposed to be TW, the first thought that came to mind was that real TW is clone only strain, so I would assume that this is "cubed" version, or a cross of TW to a similar strain at best.

Looking at them it is obvious that they are a Sativa/Indica hybrid, and are obviously dominated by the Sativa side, they are far more Sativa than anything I have had in my posession before, making them valuable to me regardless of whether they are TW or not, I like getting things that are really different to breed to.
The leaves are typically much more skinny than anything I have, and the stems show a strong ability to be viney and flexable. The small buds that are forming so far have a very non-skunk odor, that I can't really describe, if anything the smell is off-sweet at this point.
Other than that, the plants are a mystery, but we will see what we can do. I have placed one with the OR95 males, and one with the C99 x OR95 males, once they have finished enough to have mature seeds, we will bring in the "TW" strip most of the bud, and attempt to reveg the plants and get clones, if she turns out to be good we may attempt to "cube" the plants by breeding sucessive generations of male heirs back to the original moms(incest action!).
I also am looking forward to seeing how the new crosses will do next year themsleves.

Just incase these plants are indeed some part Trainwreck, does anyone have a clue when it likes to finish outdoors? Many searches have not dug up much for me......

esbe, masterlow37, Highlighter, SumHumFun, Thankyou!

esbe- Yeah, names don't mean much more than a way to keep track of a genepool or a popular cut. In the end it is more about the love of the herb, I love variety!
The OR95 is a strain that works well in my climate/countryside. Since I have a strain I know will always come through for me..... now I just like finding other things I can cross it to for a little different flavor, this new "TW" plant should be interesting.

masterlow37- Smoking the herb at the lake is the most breath taking of all.

Thanks for the info sumhumfun.

Seed plot's lookin good, BC! I was supposed to have those shots this fall, but I got too many females! :D

HM1 plot looks happy as well! Glad to hear you found a couple early gals and a new sativa dominant line to play with!

I'm in the middle of planning a 3-4 day backcountry hiking trip in the smokey mountains! Some time in october... It'll still be warm enough... Its been 2 years... I seriously can't wait!

Really loving the show BC, The nature and cannabis pictures are very enjoyable to look through as your season progresses.

looks like you have some very interesting things going on as far as polination goes as well, hope you find what you are looking for in those crosses.

Best wishes with mother nature and the rest of your year :rasta:

Thankyou djff, pipeline, and Dimebag!

pipeline, that single log bridge is pretty cool! What kind of pack are you using these days? I started with a Kelty "Radial Sherpa" back in the day, which is a 8000+cubic inch external frame pack.
After sliming my gear list down alot, I carry a Gregory "G" pack, which is a 3000 cubic inch internal frame, ultra-light hiking seems to suit me. The big external frame pack still lives as a bulk gear hauler during planting season.

Dimebag- Same to you man, your grow seems to be a cup that runneth over! I suspect I will find my new crosses delightfull, variety is the spice of life!

I'll tell you, I enjoyed it! I'm sure the guys who built it were ripped on only the finest herb... :D

Not sure what kind of pack I have... Internal frame, i think its a kelty... Same one as in the photo... My friend and I bought the same one before the trip... got a good deal....

I don't know if i'd be able to even get to my spots with a pack like this on.... smaller pack works well for those 2-3 ft tall brush restrictions... In the dormant season it's probably not be so bad though....

Ya know, they should call me backpack man, I've collected so many different packs through the years.
My favorite general use pack for growing is a old Army "ALICE" external frame pack, it can hold 4 1-gallon jugs, and its shaped in such a way that it is no wider than I am, and its top is much lower than my head, meaning it doesn't get caught on brush and branches that I walk through or under(it was built for combat).
The shoulder straps can also be disconected for quick shedding of the pack if needed, in case the VietCong launch a ambush while I am on the march.

I also have a very old REI external frame pack that is also good for heavy and bulky loads, and a couple different book bags that I like to use for scouting, just big enough to hold baggies for soil samples, my compass/sunchart, notepad, a water bottle, snack, and long sleeve shirt.

What up BC. I just wanted to say i totally dig your guerilla style of growing. I wish they had areas where i live that you could put plants out in nature. All your pics totally make the plants look at home. Keep up the lovely grow!!!

I'm no longer as worried about any of my plots being found by the loggers, its clear to see that they will not be doing any work in the vacinity of any of my plots, so thats good. If I can make it through Bow hunting season, and a week or two of Rifle/deer season then I should be bringing in a bounty.

The weather has become overcast, the temps have dropped from highs in the 90s to highs in the 70s in one day. The sky seems to be promising rain, but none so far.
If this weather pattern stays, its possible I may only need to water one more time this season, if that. I was enjoying all the sunshine of my girls though, it was making them very frosty and big.

I'm sure we have at least a week or more of dry, warm weather still to come, the more the better at this point, I wanna keep the buds growing and finishing, and keep the mold away as long as possible.
