canntalope skunk by insane seed posse
Background: Cantaloupe Skunk is a rare pheno of Mendocino Joe's Skunk. One of the first Skunks bred in the late 70's in Southern California, by Sacred Seeds. The only low odour pheno we've ever found in this strain.
True old school weed!

Mendocino Joe's Skunk Is this available anywhere??

Hi BluesHarp I don't think that Mendocino Joe's Skunk is available. But better yet Sam the Skunkman has released under Cultivators Choice in the Chimera breeders retail section his old Skunk #1 :)! This is more than what you're looking for, for it is straight from the breeder himself. I hope I helped.

Yeah, the Cantaloupe Skunk is interesting. Most are very low odor, but a few of them aren't. When I grew it before I was in an apt and couldn't risk the smelly ones. So I handed them off to a friend. Med state but the landlord at the time was a real a-hole. He didn't bother to keep cuts and of course they turned out dank as hell. Pretty intense skunk smell too. Might be a good place to start. Make some f-2's and dig thru them.

I have some seeds with a garlic stench when growing but more lime if you squeeze the buds very garlic type smell in it pure and a cross so it carries that strange garlic smell to its kids its indica leaner but low resin unfortunately
I have tons of seeds though of it pure its the famous no pine tar kush

Ok so cantaloupe skunk I don't think is skunky at all I'm growing a bunch of crosses I made with it well one the Chem x opg from real gorilla crossed to cantaloupe it passes down its smell and flavor the cantaloupe peach that kind of unique thing it has. I'm not sure about the cross they are just babies now
The old School skunk I heard was good stinky skunky stuff from old School genetics 26 seed for 150 eu damn it seems all the things I want right now are 150 ish
Last their rks from lucky 13 road kill skunk crosses one to deep chunk one to og kush I also like their nl13 strain I heard the romulan and skunk 85 are no good for skunk like an animal bad obviously weed smell

Here is a nice thin leaf Male that hopefully breeds plants that smell less like a skunk so its a nice low odor Sativa type I use foil to make little pollen collectors I air dry the pollen and store it in the freezer folding up the aluminum and in a zip lock bag pollen will mold if you dont dry it enough
I pulled out this plant yesterday its in a bucket 🪣with water
I think its a purple Honduras haze Male

Yeah boss, there are no seeds from 1990 skunk floating around.
7 years after your comment, I can still get beans from 1990. Strange it think it's 32 years ago, but someone I know has been filling his fridge for a lifetime. Starting around 1990.
I'm sure any serious seed breeder has a similar fridge full. I have jars of green nearly 20 years old, and chucked out some 90s sheva shanti seeds last year (badly stored)

I'm working on GB now, I've been working on reseeding Garlic bud. Im going to Feminize the Plants i have going now.

I get a skunky note strong sometimes when I'm cutting up bud sometimes, strong Garlic aroma. At harvest time it's got a good skunky long throw scent at peal potency.

Garlic bud will be back soon.
I love Garlic bud. The GB I hold is Ortega's Skunk plants. Nevil bred the seed bank selection that i currently hold.

I'm going to make many crosses with the last Garlic bud genetics I am growing now.

I'm friends with Nevil's master grower. I've got a nice seed collection, been growing over 45 years.

And my first appearance on here, I'm new here. This looked like a great thread to join in🕊

I'm also developing new landrace cross strains, landrace to landrace. 🕊

I'm crossing Tirah Valley Kush into Garlic bud now.

Shiva Shanti was Garlic bud x Kush x SK1

I'm actually going to see what it's going to be like without SK1

I just crossed Hawaiian Sativa into Garlic bud and will test those seeds soon. I also crossed Maple leaf with the same Hawaiian Sativa.

Both have to be tested now.
(PIC) Garlic Bud breeder plant i have.💯🕊

Here's my polaroids from 1988. Skunk#1 and Northern Lights ordered from Neville's seed bank. I'll never stop kickin myself for not saving the genetics. Of all the talk about levels of stinkiness or whatever, true Skunk#1 fell between perfumey and Skunk depending on when it was picked......

It's sad that Neville passed away a few years ago. I don't know who has the truest, most original Skunk#1 today, I've ordered seeds from a few sites and I'll see which ones are at least close. There are of course many people looking for it, but there are also people chasing almost comical/caricatures of it......."death and rotting meat" kind of descriptions. I get the desire to crank up the language, I don't think anyone actually wants their weed to smell like dead old fish or bum's feet........if these words are used as "aspects of", then sure.......

I liken it to wine. Sometimes you'll see a Cabernet described as having "notes" or "undertones" of leather and tobacco. But I don't think anyone wants their wine to smell like the bottom of a shoe and an ashtray..... ;)
