Nice work Pipe dream. Got to agree w/sugar, you're a tinkerin' fool LOL. Have to ask though. what exactly is that thing. I assume it's a warming plate of some kind.

You got it. A warmer for plates and pots for when company is over. Or to keep things toasty for dinner. Just check the garage sales, plenty of them out there.

I just use a heating pad set on medium. Low is too cool. But, I have to put a couple of short 2x4's between the pad and my cloning/germination pan cause medium is way too hot LOL. Stays right at 80* that way.

150's? How close?

My new 150 from econolight doesn't seem to get that hot at all. Now, I'm sure they sent me the cheapest bulb on the market, but I can hold the back of my hand 6-8 inches from it all day w/no ill effect. Is this normal? How close can I realisticly get this thing to my plant? What's the effective range of a 150? Sorry, I've been told I have a tendency to "mind fuck" things. LOL

yep that's pretty normal - the bulb really doesn't throw that much excess heat - I'd say keeping the canopy within 5-6" is a good place for maximum density... here's some pictures to show exactly how close I let my bulb get...

Chopped the Dutch Treat dominant pheno this morning....



Flushed the Shiskaberry dominant pheno. Trichs just turned all cloudy.

First, a few pics of the two ladies from the bag-seed grow under a 150W HPS:











Mom vegged for 5 weeks. Pics taken @ Day 21 flower. Good seeds on the way. Mix is 50% soil and 50% coco, watered when needed, using GH nutes @ 1/2 lucas strength and just switched the mom to full strength, hoping to see some more green color. Temps are 85 high/65 low w/ more than enough ventilation. Thank you for reading!

All the Scrog literature I've read said that a 150 will cover an area of about 3 sq ft. That's the main reason I bought this fixture, but that doesn't seem too realistic if I have to keep my bulb 6" above my plant to get good results. Any input here gang? Thanks
