about my grow, its 6x skunk special from female seeds, 25days veg and ~20 flo, and yeah its hps 150w + 2x cfl, ive got 39buds: 6-7 per one plant, the pots are 6,5liters and soil is standart marijuana mix that mean perlite, garden peat, worm fertiliser and sphangnum its ATAMI KILO MIX, i use MiracleGro plant food for flo

what u think about flowers, they are nearly 3 week old

hey all.... can i ask you all a question and then i mite be joining you soon.
currently using 70WHPS + 80W CFL but going to buy a 150W HPS soon, im buying all the components you see as thats about the only way i can get a 150W in the UK. can i just ask what size capacitor i should be using for a 150W (this is 240V UK so it will change but i can probably work that out).

Hi everybody,

Amazing thread! Good to see people getting the most out of thier watts.

I am an ex-OGer that has been underground for a little while. Thought I'd post a couple of pics from my OG grow-log. I used a 150hps plus two compact flouros for good measure. The strain was DP original flo and the method was SCROG. I saved some seeds and now I'm going to try it with a 400hps to see the comparo.

It was only my first and second grows, but the smoke was great!! Sativa dominant for sure

ReQuIeM dReAm - try a fan on the lower leaves or maybe trim them off - I don't know I'm not much of a dirt farmer - but when I take a clone after it roots the lower leaves look like that and I chop them off if the rest of the plant is growing well. Looks like moisture could be an issue that's why I said a fan.

Bulénath what up dude? how was the germ rate on the ob1s? life gets busy some times hope it's all going well for you.

Q_ba1 nice work - are the cfls for a more even spectrum? they look to be cool blue - what wattage, and of course what you got growing in there? Also thanks for chiming in with the answer on the capacitor!

NG2K I'm afraid I don't know what the correct size capacitor but Q_bal1 seems to know - I run my 150 without a capacitor - maybe this is not an option in the UK. Did you check the link on page one of this guide - not econolights but the other one - they sell venture lamps with capacitor - might have a ready to go 240V one for you.

about capacitor, it may be 220-240 volts, my is 230v and you shouldnt have any problems to buy it in any electronics stuff shop

20µF, i have checked info on my capacitor and there is the µF chain...

the mF chain i found on some web site and probably that was a little mistake there

Hey all. My girl which is very near harvest grew a significant number of new fresh white hairs. I wasnt expecting more hairs, I was just waiting for thrichs to go amber. This plant has gone through quite a bit of stress transplanting indoor from out and a couple power outages. Could this have caused the plant to reveg and then go back to flower cuasing more hairs? Just curious if this is normal or not?
Also another question, once I get my real grow started with multiple plants I plan to add 1 or 2 42W CFLs in with my 150HPS into the flowering cab. Would I be better off getting red spectrum to match the HPS or a blue spectrum to have some mixed color in there? Or maybe 1 of each? My veg/mother cab will be 2 blue 6500K CFLs, which I understand is best. correct?

Jason,
Blue spectrum for veg is best. 6500k is about as blue as you can get. Did you find the 19 watters? Ill post a picture mine in use, they are really good.

As the plant nears the end, it will still throw off some new bud growth with white hairs, but dont let it fool ya. Some plants, like Nuclear Cloud, just keeps throwing out new bud growth and white hairs, even though other branches have buds starting to die and shrivel up! This can be deceiving. Especially if the trichomes stay at clear/cloudy and never turn amber!

If your adding extra lights to the 150, then go with blue spectrum to make a more well rounded one.
