thanks sugabear, that bubble wrap stuff is what they have at hd. they sell the rolls of it for like $30. think i may just go with the white paint though.

So sorry to hear about the situation there. Many of us here know right where you are coming from with regards to the med situation. Lots of folks have found that marijuana is as effective as many perscription drugs, and in some cases, works even better. In my book, our health comes before all else. If I couldn't grow my own, I would surely go back to buying the meds I needed, be it legal or not!

I found a website/webstore that may be of interest to some of you. This company is under the same "umbrella" as www.businesslights.com (Its a recommended site located on the first page/post of this thread). The only real difference that I can see is that this site is catered to your horticulturalist and not your commercial type lighting people. You will even notice that the websites look exactly the same. Well enough jibberjabber here is the web addy.

A 4in vortex cost $138 shipped to Canada, so far that is the best price I was able to find anywhere.

Softy - sorry to hear of your issues - I think you made the right choice - please remember harming your self is never the right option as desperate as the situation may seem it will work out.
Reeferdan - what's up man - can I get an update? I'm sweating here thinking I steered you wrong with the setup - I hope that's not the case - if it is I'm sure you can turn those lamps horizontal and switch to scrog without too much effort.

wow, once again i am stunned. i've probably grown out 20 plants since the hobby started and have never had a male. most of the seeds have been bag seed except for a dozen sent from a member of the boards. even under the spectrum of my new 150 hps setup, i was 6/6 with females. i'd love to post up some pics but am still hesitant.
IRIE: I got 2 of those cheap 150s from the amazon the other day. Free delivery and what? $16 each? They made a definite screw up there, but followed up on it. They're $50/ea now.Just the bulbs are worth what I paid. I'm kinda wonderin' what the ballasts look like. I'll have to take one apart tomorrow. They also just say sodium, not high pressure sodium. They look the same though. Thanks.

qdavid: really easy disassembly 3 screws to remove the reflector and socket then all the guts under it. nice and sturdy mounting so i couldnt hear any "humming" from the ballast.

tested both my 150s and both are a go. i plan to remote ballast them and use the cases they're in as the ballast box, since its weather proof and now i dont have to find/make a new ballast box
. not sure how im mounting the lights yet though. really wanna do a cooltube with batwing just need some parts first. after turkey day its time to go parts shopping so ill update when it happens.

I'm noticing a trend that people are finding the case in which these lamps come to be excellent ballast boxes - only needing to remove the socket and add cord. Makes such good sense as you don't tinker with the mounting of the ballast coil and therefore don't risk increasing the hum when you mount it in your DIY ballast box.

Nothing beats a good ol paintball match after a nice spliff with some friends. We used to play quite a lot in my backyard and we actually played in a speedball tournament once too. Good times... so hard to get everyone out nowadays though!

hooked one of my 150s up today and ran it for about 6 hours as side lighting to check it out and im pretty pleased with it. gets hot but not deathly hot, oh and i can verify that it is a High Pressure Sodium after taking a look at the case sticker it lists some specs.
jasonk :cool another paintballer. i played a few tourneys and was gonna play in the NPPL if it wasnt so expensive for paint and everything. man i miss hearing that "3...2...1...10 seonds................GOGOGOGOOO" then sprinting off to the 40 snake guns a blazing.
anyone heard or seen the "stoned assassins" play paintball??
