126 Watt LED Test Featuring Ice

Look at peoples posts. LEDGRL you post these pictures. To compare your grows to other people using your lights. Not one of them is as close as yours. Care to share what you are doing different? Or why yours are so much more flush and dank?

1) I likely have more experience growing with LED than any other person currently using our lights. For most of them, this is their first time with LED. I developed and tested LED lighting systems for more than 2 years before growing with them only.

2) I always ran a maximum yield setup with very expensive equipment: aeroponics units with the water chilled and oxygenated constantly, Fuzzy-logic controlled CO2, Temp & Humidity control, top of the line nutrients, etc...

3) Most of the strains I was growing, I grew for many years on end under HID. I have lots of experience with those strains particularly, and many years of overall growing experience with my equipment. I keep all variables as perfect as I can to maximize the end result.

4) I was using 50W per square foot of LED, which is higher than most people you will see on the forums.

There are some people who have posted bud shots similar (although not as large) as ours. S_a_H had some nice buds, as did Zombo, Genetics, and several others. No doubt someone will show me up soon, as I'm certainly not the worlds best lol. I'm just waiting for Verdant or Benji, or anyone else who comes along to do it

It appears Setting Sun may have his light far back off the plants, or maybe he moved it in order to take a pic?

Our light was kept at 6" until he ran out of footprint. He then raised it to 9 or 10", and I believe it has remained there for the latter part of bloom. To my knowledge, both panels are currently at the same height above each canopy. If our light appears too high, he probably adjusted it for the photos ;)

people you really have to relax on the LED thing, I do not think they will ever replace HID lights, it is not possible

But what it is, is another choice, cfls do not come close to what I can do with an HID bulb either, so why all the drama about LEd

I dont plan on replacing my 30 k w grow with LeD BULBS, BUT i may run some as supplemental, or lets say I wanted to start a small cab at home, sure.. But you guys are really comparing apples to oranges here.

Now on to the grow, great shots LEDgirl, and sleepy, they look tasty man, you will get them dialed in eventually bro

Great looking Buds, Sleepy.

LEDGirl- You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

She's tried that approach, but HID devotees refuse to be civil in most LED threads I've read. Enough detraction from this grow:

Sleepy, you did a phenominal job! :jump:

kwikie update...

kwikie update...

medi-useA-Redux>> for me, the best distance from light to canopy is/was 6-8 inches. if you can keep the canopy even, like in a scrog, that seems to work best. that was why i tried to grow bushes. tough to address the other question in this grow...2 of the 4 plants are very dense all over the plant...one is super airy all over the plant and one is in between...sorry, thats the best answer i can give you at this point.
LEDGirl>>thank you for posting the pics at full size! it is very interesting to see others' results...it is an unfortunate 'knee-jerk reaction', but it seems many growers prefer to blame a light; some nutes; or some other variable other than themselves when it comes to producing a desirable result and they come up with less than their goal...i am testing your light and posting the raw data...thank you for your kind praise.
Roortokeage>>thank you for staying along for the long ride!
Cannawinner>>great to have you back, ron...these light engines will definitely be the savior/missing link for many of our friends that grow in an enclosure or where heat can be a problem...very stealthy, too...
Roortokeage>>this post of yours has me confused...are you praising LEDGirl or chastising her?? i read and re-read your post and i still don't know what you are getting at...you like my pictures, or you don't like LEDGirl's...i can't figure it out.:chin::bashhead:
intel2000>>i don't know...
Dr Dog>>well said, old friend...thanks for joining me on my journey!! woof!
Zombo>>hey now...:blowbubbles:
Matanuskan Flo>>hey there...yes i did remove lower fan leaves as they were ready to come off...i generally prefer to tuck or bend a healthy leaf as opposed to cutting it off...a lot of lower foliage was removed.
MediScrogs>>thanks very much!
Matanuskan Flo>>i have no knowledge of the technology/products you are referring to...sorry.
MarquisBlack>>thanks, i am happy that you like them!
Zombo>>thanks, Z...thats very kind of you.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

so after LEDGirl posted those other pics, i got inspired last night to take some of my own with a lighter used as a reference point...

here are some current pics...click them for a larger view...

just some random bud shots...

well from who you guys chose to do your journaling. I dont think we will ever see those quotes and stats. Some poeple just dont put in the time, effort and the hours to figureing shit out.

But thats ok. I dont think we will see them blow up as much as they did when they first came out. I will still use my little panel. Since I cannot afford them exspensive ones. Maybe in the future who knows. but good luck to those who have them.

I think many of our customers would disagree with you, but then again their end product speaks for itself. Needless to say, less than 2% of our clients post grow journals online, so what you're seeing is a VERY small sliver of what our various customers are actually doing. So far the best results that have been reported to us by our customers, have been from people who are outside of the online forum community. But let's take the results below for example, as they were recently posted over on 420Mag by Level Head using a single 126W and a single plant: http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/113752-roadrunner-126-watt-led-via-dwc.html

It would seem as though the results from this individual are pretty on par with my own. They are also very similar to other photos I've posted from other gardens I've setup for other people. So yeah, with just 1 light (low powered at that), you can make BIG buds. Guess someone else has posted those pictures you've been dying for Roor, and they do nothing more than validate my own grows which people have been so skeptical of (what can I say, I'm just good at what I do). So yes, it is possible! But not everyone will have the capacity to reach these kinds of results... Like you said, "Some poeple just dont put in the time, effort and the hours to figureing shit out."

Ive been keepn my mouth shut till the end.Im sorry but those arent very impressive results! And LEDGirl why are you so short with any1 who (posts their honest opinion)doesnt see good results w/these lights. Sleepy grew a "great" strain w/great nutes and seemed to do a pretty good job. Im sorry but you really seem one sided and trying too hard to dis HIDs to sell LEDs. the final results werent even close to" the quality "buds from sleepys results using HIDs.

By the way HIDs (like just about everything else)
are being improved upon checkout the #s and results hortilux blue is kickn out! sorry girl PEACE!

Right there with ya Stagger, "This is a test, this is only a test."
Even in my highly automated lab-like environment I would be hard pressed to reproduce all the variables that can affect the yield of a crop as much, if not more, than the lightclosely enough to mount a fair argument for or against one type of light source. The only thing I want to learn from this thread is IF LEDs will support the plants throughout the whole growing cycle. I repeat: "This is only a test.":plant grow:

Props to Sleepy, it looks like they're working so far.

Yea EG Im not exactly going to make any friends w/my opinion, probably gonna be in the doghouse w/the Dr, but Im not very popular around here anyway!I actually thought Dr Dogs post was being on the nice side, but ouch!! And after watching sleepy do a great job I think Level Head is stretching the truth alittle,he doesnt sell LEDs does he? a friend of mine tried LEDs and Ill just say NO it didnt produce double what his HIDs did!

These lights might suck at growing things, but they sure are pretty to look at. How many watts was the heater sucking to heat your grow space sleepy? I would say more than lickley more than your 400 watter did. I appreciate your effort and I was really pulling for this to work out.

LEDGIRL --- Those are Great Buds you got there and a great plant. But how long have you been dealing with LEDS? How long have you been Growing? How long Everything.....
You need to realize, Growers and new jacks will be seeing all this and want the most for there money. But they are not going to do as good or great as you! They may in the future or longer down the road or if they get teh correct help.

Believe me Im with you with LEDS. Why do you think I have a LED Panel? I think LEDS are great light source and have there flaws. its just people who dont know what they are doing. Will be like wtf.. and why. I just think there are alot of issues with LEDs and you need to know what you are doing.

Come take a look at my Babies there not too bad with the 45 watter!

Im new to the site but not to growing.Tried LEDs and have to admit they sucked bigtime! Im pushing it being a newbie but it sure seems like there are alot of pro LEDs members in this thread that are pushing these lights.I felt ripped off and every1 else Ive met feel the same way about their LEDs. IMO its a scam!!!

Any of you guys wanna buy mine for next to nothing? Theres no way the last pic of levalsheads was grown w/LED.Good job sleepy would like an opinion of comparison to lights youve previously used?

Each yeah this technology is obviouly getting better and better . The first years this came out put a sour taste in growers mouth as it was expensive and the bud sucked. But the Chinese are getting better and better at this like they always do lol . I read in a mag. that they have a 2" by 2" that puts out 200.000 lumens not on the market yet . It's the spectum your looking for here and if you pair up the two . You can put put 1000 watt from 5 led lights right quick. Plus your 600 watt HPS increasing your watage can't see the harm there lol peace out Headband707

Its a work in progress. I give pros LEDgirl. Frankly I give her the benefit of the doubt. I cant purchase a system because of the cost - but I fully support the cause.

@Sleepy - way to go bro. You hast not forsaken us. I ALWAYS give props to the pioneers. I remember back in the day when MDanzig started with the lowryders when no one esle would. I know for a fact that the Auto-flowers are quality - but there are still those that down them. I think its the same way with LED. THINGS IMPROVE. LOL. Way to jum out there man
