wow...too many to name all of you in this update...

wow...too many to name all of you in this update...

i hope you don't mind too much...

thanks everybody for stopping by my test and posting!!

i took some pix last night...they are doing pretty well...looking healthy.

i have been giving plain water adjusted to 6.5 pH...i will feed with their next watering.

kosmo: i see your point, and i must agree with you...they do look smaller than what i am used to at this pint during flowering...but...the end result is what will decide. until then i am reserving my judgments entirely. i am happy to have you.

Roortokeage: yes, 4 ice plants.

i hast not forsaken anyone...i have recently found a good paying job and have been at it full bore...yesterday i lost my only pair of eyeglasses, but my wife just found them!:jump:

here are some pics from last night...click an image for a larger smellier view.

individual plants first...

some random shots:

and some closer shots...

your around 60 days now, they seem to look like they are yellowing (ripening) is this strain an extremely low yeilder?

Very healthy looking though , thats for sure!

Good luck with your new job and as soon as you get insurance get some back up glasses :)

Thanks Sleepy. I just searched thru some old threads and I see that the LEDs from UFO produced about the same amount of bud as normal when supplemented with 2 T-5 side lights - but the when just the LED the harvest was much less. However, others have reported differently (apparently) on other boards, these 2 trials were here on IC.

Hi Sleepy

How are you feeding them? same or 3/4-1/2 less than with hid? I know it's probably discussed somewhere here, but can't find it..

I'm taking notes with all these experienced growers doing these ledtests so maybe I can figure it out someday myself :D.

Today Is Day 60...

Today Is Day 60...

Amoralchemistry!!>>thanks...no i have not run this strain before...my plans for harvest are: cut the pants, dry the plants, weigh the plants, and then put them in jars for a nice long cure....
Centrum!!>>yep, today is day 60...i don't think the Ice is a low yielder...just in my grow!...thanks for the congrats, and yes, i will be very happy when my benefits kick in!! thanks!!
intel2000!!>>i don't have any clue what goes on anywhere else...i am registered at ogas.ca, but i am only there a little bit...i like the folks there, too...as for other grows with the LED's...i think most have been happy with the results. thanks for the congrats!:thank you:
unthing!!>> i am feeding about every third watering or so...yes, less feeding than with my HPS, because it takes much longer for the medium to dry out between waterings with the LED light engine...unless you let them totally dry out between watering, you will drown the roots and kill the plants...i have never fed with every watering...i feel that 'less is more', whether i am using my T5; my 400 watt HPS; or this LED. it is so much easier to add a bit of nutes if underfeeding than it is to correct after an overfeed.

In my experience growing ICE (although it could be a different phenotype), it was not a high yielding strain. It was a light and fairly leafy bud, certainly not dense, but the quality was top notch. I was able to achieve 4 ounces on my largest ICE plants (2-3 on average sized), while I could do 6-7 ounces consistently with my Strawberry Cough plants, and 6 ounces consistently with my AK47. Anyhow, just thought I'd share that. Can't wait to see another update :)

Update...Day 67...

Update...Day 67...

Roortokeage...where are we now...hmmm if i had answered this when you posted, i would have said bahind the 400 watter...after looking at them last night, i think they are catching up...not necessarily in size, but they are certainly very dense...this will get interesting between now and the finish...one seems very airy, one looks very good, two are in between...:blowbubbles:

tokenoldguy...thank you...glad you found the thread.
whatissixbynine...no pix??? hmmm...
LEDGirl...wow...impressive results...i have never grown this ICE from Female Seeds...so i wasn't sure what to expect...i am sure it will be high quality, though! thanks for posting!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

so here are the pics i took last night...

I must say, I am not dissatisfied with wh@ I have seen so far...enough th@ I, for one, am convinced LED's from here on in are worth a try. I still intend to keep my HPS...but I think I will set cab2 up with LED's.

By my reckoning, even if 2 LED panels are 2/3 as good as my 2 400W HPS's in my cabinets, I would be content. The heat th@ I have to deal with is considerable...so the offset of lower heat output is worth the possible difference in growth to me.

Looking good there, sleepy:)

I figure with my training method {scrog}, I should get good benefit from using LED's...so, can you describe for me Sleepy, any visible difference between the buds th@ are within 2"-4"-6"-further of the emitted light?...I'm asking because I'm wondering how high a bud canopy to aim for and wh@ my cutoff height might be.

Hey Sleepy, those are some nice looking ICE buds! I'm constantly amazed by the variations I see from one grower to the next, and how that makes their "audience" view our lights. For example, Setting Sun over on 420Mag has been doing a grow using our 126W against the Haight Solid State 186W panel. While our light is certainly dominating the competition, the size of his buds are very poor in my opinion and he's doing 4 plants just like you. The poor size of his buds is causing a lot of people to have negative views towards our lights, even though there are plenty of other individuals out there like you who put his grow to shame. I thought I'd include some photos so you'd know what I was talking about:

Anyhow, thought that might be interesting for some! I'm sure you can see now why we want so many grow tests on the web. It's so that there is a good variety for all of you to see what different people with different strains, in different conditions, are able to do with our products. Otherwise 1 individuals bad results could certainly cause a lot of damage to our reputation, as they'd simply blame our lights vs any other causes (has happened a few times already) :comfort:

Well Sleepy, I hope you join the 1 gram per watt LED club on your first LED grow ever! The way you're growing and the size of your plants leads me to believe that you will be close. I think you've done an excellent job of taking these plants through bloom thus far, and look forward to seeing your end results in another week or two! Most of all though, thank you for giving this community a quality grow test to observe

Look at peoples posts. LEDGRL you post these pictures. To compare your grows to other people using your lights. Not one of them is as close as yours. Care to share what you are doing different? Or why yours are so much more flush and dank?
