great idea man... i plan to do something like that in my closet cept it's not going to be all veg.. so i still have a few things to work out.. i was thinking two sections, veg/mother chamber above and run the flower below. i think i have enough height to pull it off. kind of like an immobile cab LOL.

bad news first. one of the four last plants from seed, the bushiest/best out of the twenty that i've been vegging for a hot minute now, is a boy. and so it goes in the game of growing. BUT...

the good news is that when i found out the plant was a male, i was then able to pull the clones i had going from it. i was very happy to see that after only one week of sitting in the clone tray the roots were forming nice and strong on both clones. so i guess my silver lining is i now have more confidence in my growing ability, and that ain't half bad.

on another positive note, the two girls that were bent over from my first LST attempt are back up and kicking. its amazing. AND the buds are getting nice and hairy on most all of them! trich's are everywhere, even on the leaves. especially on the super ice.

reality: thanks man. i'm a bit curious too... i'm feeding 'em a light/moderate dose of glucose (karo lite) along with nutes, so i'm hoping that will fatten them up in the lack of HPS or MH. we'll see what the f.'s can do i gues...

my overall record for this grow is 14/18 females, so still not bad, with two to go. i think i can see some female preflowers on these last two, but time will tell. thanks to all for the well-wishes!

that's oscar the killer guard cat. i keep an eye on him whenever he's around the girls, but he loves to just chill in there. one time he just sat in the bloom room and stared at a flower for five minutes, not once touching anything. lol

zen or not, he won't be near them enough to do any mischief. :kitty:

just a quick dose of good news to report. of the last two bushiest plants from seed, the one in bloom is def. a female!! the one left in veg looks great... i am 89% sure i can distinguish female preflowers. either way, at least i get to see one of the bushier plants in action.

how much did those run you if you dont mind me asking... nice to see someone using something other than an HID and getting good lookers...
also are those long and big, dimensions would be nice to know, im assuming they are probably 1.5 ft in width and 3.5 feet long ? got a 8 foot closet...

ganjadreams: i'm glad you asked. i had the wattage wrong on my veg light... its actually a 200. here's a link: Sunleaves Comet Fluorescent Grow Fixture 200 Watt

hope that helps. if i had it to do over i would readjust the shelving and go with a Pioneer IV for both grow and bloom. they are just under 4' each. should fit in your 8x8. price is under $200 a piece, but the temperature control (by using flo's as opposed to HPS or MH) is well worth it in dealing with a confined space. let me know when you start, and best of luck!

and now to the garden. i had a horrible feeling that all of my blooming girls were rootbound, save the one in an 8" pot. so i bought twenty white/black 1 gallon grow bags, and transplanted them all! i was right. in a 4" pot, there was nothing but a mass of roots. glad i caught it. it was a lot of work, but i think it will pay off big in the end.

another wonderful aspect of repotting in taller containers, is that i was able to manage the height disparity by potting shallower or deeper in the bags. took the difference from almost twelve inches down to three or four. so now the light is closer to all the tops...

thanks b., they do look nice... you know i've already got a shoe box full of dried trimmings, the three male plants, etc. can i use that to make anything, or is it just trash for hash? how did you do the butter? thanks bro

Well here is how I did it this time

take 1/2 oz leaf (all the trim I got from my one five foot plant i took down)
dice it up finely and put it in a pot
pour water in enough to cover the diced shake
add 1/3 lb of butter (1/2 pound if you don't want it as strong)
let it cook on a low temperature while stirring every so often for an hour or two
make sure nothing burns!
strain it into a container, i massage the shake to get all the good stuff out into the container
put a lid on it and put it in the fridge to cool
after it has solidified seperate all the skanky water from your new cannibutter!

As I was reading your thread I was eating a nice breakfast sandwich so I thought I'd share the simple "recipe"



cook up some pemeal (canadian) bacon and an egg
toast a bagel then butter both sides of the bagel with cannibutter
Grab some cheese and melt it over one of the bagels
then throw it all together and you got yourself a tasty treat


by the way I've heard from a few people that yes males are great for baking with
I wouldn't know first hand though somehow I have never gotten a male
the gods of ganja have smiled on me, may they smile upon your harvests as well!

breath: thanks for the recipie(s) my friend. i'm gonna try the butter out with the trimmings i have, so we'll see if there's enough trich's on the males to make it potent... and damn that sandwich looks good! before i realized what i was doing i had already slathered ketchup on the computer screen and tried to take a bite.

as promised, here's a pic of the CO2 system i picked up at the hydro store: CO2 Boost



retails for $125. refill buckets are $100. supposedly it lasts 60-90 days, if synched up with the light they said it will last a whole cycle easily. at any rate, it was just the right size for my small room, so i'm giving it a shot. for now i just bought one to put in the bloom room, and if it seems to make a difference i'll buy another for the veg. they are about 9"x11", diameter by height (with pump attached). pretty small space to take up. i duct taped the air hose to my light, above the plant closest to the fan. it should blow over the other plants fine, i think:

amber hairs...

amber hairs...

my girls have only been in bloom for 24 days, and on two of the chrystal plants the buds wayyyy down at the bottom have started to change hair color a bit.

do i treat buds individually and take the little bud when it is 80% amber or do i just harvest when 80% of the entire plant hairs are amber? thanks to anyone who can give advice!
