Unfinished Business - Headbanger - First Update 5/10
So happy to have the shot at running this strain again. Running 6 seeds to start this time will give me much better odds. As titled Unfinished Business, I still have a score to settle with the Headbanger. So a few cycles ago at my other grow I was growing one HB seed I was gifted from a friend. Turned out being the biggest, bushiest, most vigorous plant in the garden. It had an insanely strong stench of sour burnt rubber funk that was just mouth watering.
Anyways I was convinced this beautiful plant was a lady, one that would had been the prize of my garden. Well I was tricked and he turned out being a boy. I wanted to collect his pollen and make use of him, his beautiful structure and super stink. At the time I didnt have an isolation chamber built or a proper method to flower him out and collect his pollen. The outcome with my first Headbanger grow was so promising just to leave a sour unfinished taste in my mouth. Thats about to be solved go go super sour pheno!
Ever since I had to chop that beautiful plant down, Headbanger has been at the top of my list of strains to run. Well that time has finally arrived and I couldn't be more thrilled. These plants will be part of the first run at my new grow spot, I will be popping seeds in 3 separate rounds roughly 3 weeks apart. I will be running the Headbangers under a 1000w HPS with my Stardawg x Biker testers. I would think those to should make a nice pairing side by side.
The Stardawg x Biker Test Grow
There are lots of other happenings with projects going on with my new grow spot that is currently being finished up. I plan on starting a thread very soon that will detail all 3 of my projects Im working on along with all the strains Im running. That thread will basically be an entire overview of everything Im doing and planning, its going to be a fun filled 2015.
5/10 - I began by dropping 6x Headbanger into a shot glass with water to start germination.
5/11 - Like the Stardawg x Biker's that were dropped at the same time 6 of 6 seeds had cracked open and dropped to the bottom of the shot glass.
All but one already had roots popping out within 18 hours of being in water.
All 6 were potted in solo cups using my current soil mix.
Soil Mixture - 1 part FoxFarm Ocean Forrest - 1 part FoxFarm Coco Loco - 1/2 part perlite - 1/4 part earthworm castings.
Planning to flower these babies out in 5gal pots but I may go a little smaller and do 3gal. Im planning with this seed run to really avoid topping and or any training with the plants. I would really like to be able to see their natural growth structures to help with making selections. Something tells me by the time these girls are harvested I will have a hard time trying to pick a keeper.
As soon as they pop above ground I will get an update with some pictures posted.
