Happy to announce this stinky sexy lady was chopped down last night at 10 weeks of flowering. I was thinking she would probably take 11 or 12 weeks but she was good to go at 10. I could have given her a couple more days but I wont have the time to this week to chop her down so Sunday was the day. I had high hopes for this lady from the start and she didn't disappoint. Really pleased with how she turned out and very excited to sample her flowers. I wont lie she was a bit overlooked during this cycle, between the Road Dawgs insane stank and the I-95's crazy frost it was easy to not take notice. Her stink and beauty was impossible to ignore and overlook during harvest though. Holy hell does this lady have some dense as rock nugs that reak to high heaven. My nostrils were burning and my eyes were watering the entire time she was getting chopped down and hung to dry. Not to mention her greasy sticky resin that coats all of her stalks and leaves, I still had her stank on my hands when I woke up Monday morning.
This girl probably has the most dense flowers I have grown in memory. It was easy to feel the weight on her branches and the rock hard density of her flowers when she was getting chopped. From the look and smell on this plant she seems to be a good mix of both parents. She has a Og structure and node spacing but on a more sturdy and compact frame, she is able to support her weight much better than anticipated. Her flowers have formed much like dense Og buds but taking a closer look its easy to see the Sour Diesel influence in her nugs. Smelling her will leave no doubt of the Sour Diesel parentage if her appearance did, she does have some Og funk to her but is very Sour dom in that department. Her stank was getting masked by the Road Dawg at first but she is one sour skunky stink bomb.
Update Continued 11/8 - Flower Day 70 - Harvest Time
She was a very easy to plant to grow and keep happy, I love the compact vertical structure she displays. For the next round I do need to up the cal/mag a little bit as she was hungry for more than she was getting this run. I could probably feed her a little heavier, she seems like she could take it just fine but my current mix seemed to keep her very happy none the less. Overall a great plant to grow, looks to have great yield potential and it doesn't smell or look like her smoke will disappoint, smoke report coming soon.
So here is the first clone for the second run on this girl, this one is in El Dorado and I have another one going into flower this week in my tent. Sorry for the horrible HPS glow but I have no way to escape it inside the rabbit hole. I need to double check but I believe she was at 3-3.5 weeks when this picture was take which was about 6 days ago now. Things are off to a great start so far for the most part, the stretch or lack there of is another thing entirely. Recently in past weeks I begun using a weekly foliar regimen on my vegging plants. These are the first round of plants to go into flower with this treatment and the only thing that has changed since the last cycle. When flowering the seed plant she seemed to stretch about 200% or so on me. This clone was topped and put into flower at about 18 inches tall and she now stands at just over 24 inches. Im not sure if the foliar feeding has any correlation with them not stretching but I have 5 other clones that are doing the same thing. The other strains have shown very similar stretch to this Headbanger the first run and this second run have shown little to no stretch. On the plus side all the plants are off to a much better start and look to be fattening up nicely, I just have a room of plants much smaller than I expected.
Thanks bro, she turned out really nice, very happy with her, shes a great plant. I have been slacking myself keeping all my logs updated recently. Thanks for dropping in my man.
So its been a long time since I have updated this thread, nothing since harvest. Finally have the time to get some pics posted and a little bit of information on this girl and how she smokes. I will provided a more detailed smoke report shortly but I will give the skinny on her here.
I do have 2 clones of her that are currently in different stages of flower. One is right about 2 weeks into flower and the other is about 2 weeks from finishing. So far the clone runs are looking and coming along even better. I love the way this plant grows she is so easy to manage and fills in her space so well.
I also have a second pheno that is now about 10 days into flower, Im really excited to finally flower her out and she what she is all about. She was the runt plant that was almost tossed a number of times, finally got her figured out though, she doesnt have a lot of vigor but she is worth growing compared to how she was. I will continue to update both Headbangers here on this thread and they will also be logged in my El Dorado thread.
A few more pictures of this girls nugs, I just love the structure of her flowers. She forms big chucky nuggets all the way to the bottoms no larf with this girl. Her flavors have really come forward after taking time to cure, I will provide a full smoke report shortly. This girl is a great mix of both parents though and leaning a little more towards the sour side of things. If I had to guess I would say this is a 60/65-40/35% Sour to Og pheno. She leaves that lip smacking sour petrol flavor on your tongue with a dash of lemon pinesol og goodness.
Sorry for the nasty yellow glow of the HPS its hard to escape it inside El Dorado, these pictures were take nearly two weeks ago. Things are moving along really smoothly this girl is probably going to be ready in about a week or two for chop. The past few days she has started to get her fade on. She is looking really nice and has filled in great so far. Soon I will get some more pictures of her as well as the other clone that is just getting started in flower.
Plants are looking Awsome Kalyx...!!!... I can't stop thinking about when I grew the Headbanger... I loved this strain...
I have decided that I will run the last three seeds I have and hope for a female... I've just been so nervous about growing this strain again because of the sour stench that they put off...
This strain and Sage and Sour where the loudest strains I've ever grown...
Second run with the Headbanger #5 from clone finished up nicely, really great plant. She puts out such nice dense flowers that just have an amazing taste. Love her compact vertical growth structure, makes her so easy to manage and she takes up so little floor space.
Im currently flowering out the mutant runt Headbanger #4 she is looking pretty similar to the #5 but the smell on her is so much stronger. Really excited for her to finish up and take a proper sample, she has such an awesome sour stank to her. She will be finished in the next week or two and I will get plenty pics of her before she gets the axe.
Newbie here , I wanted to use my first post to thank you for the pictures , I have 3 seedlings that are on 12/12 and your thread makes me eager to grow them and taste the finished product , thanks.
