The Official Hempy Bucket Thread

I do fine with little to no runoff. Frequent small feelings via drip. Give em some extra for maybe 10% runoff once a week. And my water is hard as fuck

Get a drip system going. Easy and cheap.

If u have to worry about wind pulling ur plants out of a pot I'd say it's not an ideal location. And going Hempy to soil should be fine. But just Go with a straight soilless like promix so you can keep going with the synthetics. I wouldn't switch to organic

As for my location for flowering, the crazy thing is that the sunroof has a high wall all around it but it still can get windy (rarely)..but WHEN it does it just goes crazy.

Do you ph your nutes? (Stupid question maybe). I do, usually 5.5-6...water here is also extremely hard, talking 8.5-9ph and lots of calcium in it.

I love how simple everything can be if you let it. I swear by Hempy, coco, Heads 6/9 with Koolbloom blasts! Very cheap and extremely effective.

Awesome how people are keeping these threads going. You don't need all the latest Bullshit.

Grass...

my tap is @ 8+.. 400 ppm - very hard. that calcium that you may have may also not be "plant useful"..

I pH to 5.8 in coco. last run was perlite/vermiculite - 6.2 or so, wasn't too particular.

Update.
13 days since transplant. Currently getting 1 1/2 tsp. Floranova Grow, 2 ml Floraliscious+ per gallon. Ill be switching to Bloom ferts in a couple days. Ph'ed to 5.75-5.8.
The FIM I did on them took really well. Multiple tops on most of them.
I flipped them to 12/12 last night.

Back to maxi bloom in hempies... all of my issues as far as wilting leafs and stunted growth seem to have gone away... here's to keeping it simple even in hempy. Past 3 cycles were on liquid nutes... no thanks.

He fills the jug w/ nutrients BEFORE adding water.

Correct me if I am wrong, that's a BIG no-no.

I always add water first, then Micro, then shake, then grow, then bloom. I would never mix nutes first and add water later...

I seriously doubt it's a big no no.. granted I use powder ferts... but seriously.. how much difference could it make.. unless your adding silica.. Add that first unless you have already fully diluted ur macro/micro..

I dump my V+B in a bucket.. spray hot water or dump a boiling water in.. swirl till mostly mixed.. fill rest with cold water.. dump into rez.. continue till rez full..

then I add my Calmag, silica if I feel like it, and pH..

Never had a problem.

for those of you that transplant seedlings from soil into hempys, do you just set and go about your business, or do you try and rinse most of the soil from the root system before rooting in your hempy? :tiphat:

My first run I went promix solo -> perlite/vermiculite hempy's only tickled the bottom of the roots to loosen a bit. went fine.

I've used maxibloom too but it wont dissolve for shit. Im all for keeping things simple also but wtf? Hot water first? Ive had to do this in the past. Pain in my ass. Even with hot water first I end up with all sorts of crap on the bottom. What is it? Filler? That shit just refuses to dissolve. Who the hell wants some sort of filler in there?

yeah that.

V+B dissolves a little better..

I don't get crazy.. just start with hot water.. swirl a bit.. then by the time I fill it the rest of the way it dissolves..

for me.. volume of water seems to make the difference.. a dose of the sauce will take HOURS to dissolve if not using the intended amount of water..

I do wonder what the shit is that doesn't dissolve.

When I did it I had a small spray bottle and tried to wash off as much soil as I could, then I actually dunked the entire plant's roots into a bucket with water and swished.
Some fine soil was still sticking so I guess it's impossible to entirely remove it.

Plants took it well tho, they're THRIVING now in the hempies.
