The Island Sweet Skunk is supposed to be Breeder Steves Sweet Skunk of old and I for one am very happy to have been able to grab these...
It's my understanding that the Cannabis Cowboy is supposed to be releasing an S1 of Steves Sweet Skunk also..
I remember Steve bitching over at IC about Federation stealing his Sweet Skunk and marketing it as ISS...Either way I'm just happy to have em'!!!!

Theres an excellent pic in eith CB1 or 2 of the Sweet Skunk....

I'm wondering if this is the Skunk I have been looking for as I have been through quite a bit of the Sam Skunk #1...

I have heard many great comments about this wonderful herbage...
Let's hear some personal comments about the Sweet Skunk.......

The Romulan and Mikado along with several other Federation strains are availible at Seedbay right now...
Better get em' while you can....

Take care all.................................................................CC

I'm pretty sure it's a Breeder Steve strain originally...But I can't remember which one he was saying it was..Might be ortega or his afi line..I can't remember...He posted it all over at the old CW but you know where that info is.....

Hey Capt... I ordered the Federation hat-trick as well. What a nice surprise to find these three strains available. Romulan is legendary and what is not to like about Mikado? Anyhow... I"m thrilled to have a shot at them.

Will be nice to learn a little more about ISS. I've heard nothing but good things about this line.

I wonder if there the same as pre break-up. If so then they must of still kept all the clones and such.

I've been growing Mikado for years, I had once read that it had something to do with breeder steve's sweetpink grapefruit, but i don't remember how reliable the source was. I wouldn't be surprised, since many phenos have a lemony-grapefruit smell and taste. I aslo made a kick ass cross with a Mikado mother and a father from BCGA's Killer Queen.

These are a few pics of MikadoXKillerQueen at 2 1/2 weeks flower

I should get some juicy pics in a few weeks!

I would love to try ISS, especially directly from steve. I heard chimera released limited ISS s1s and I'd love to get something like that. I wont give Federation my $ though, Steve used to claim on CW that their strains were F2s of his basically like Sidd was saying, I forget which he claimed was which, but, if steve or chimera or someone more reputable released them I'd grab a pack

btw Sidd nice work

so all parent stock is identical? or f2?
looking forward to the grow reports

what's in the iss again? hawaiian sativa and skunk? hummmmmmmmmmmm:chin::D

I'm not sure about ISS lineage to be honest.

what breeder steve said on his desk @ CW iirc was that federation stock when they were carrying mikado, cotton candy, etc was all F2s. from what I understand they have long since moved on to other projects, no idea what they do now, but steve has credibility w/ me and that was enough for me.

that said, steve has a new site up and running, hopefully his forums will be up soon and he can clarify any questions.. would like to try his donk and swt3

The Sweet Skunk looks nice to me as well. The flowering time of 10-12 weeks scares me, I'd need one that finished in no later than 10 weeks, not just barely, but we'll see. This is what Cannabis Cowboy has to say about the Sweet Skunk S1's.

Cannabis Cowboy
Sweet Skunk Selfed - SSS1

The original cut from Spice of Life seeds circa 1994, Feminized and in its pure form, has been released for the first time for you to judge for yourself. This is the elite clone that has been the all time favorite for sativa and hash lovers alike throughout BC for over a decade.

A unique flavour and odor that is unforgettable to any that have tried it, this girl is blessed with some of the most concentrated trichromes you will ever encounter. A soaring sativa high that is not for the unseasoned smoker, she produces full melt water hash or golden odorific dry sieve that will impress any cannaseur of fine resins. The flowers possess excellent aging properties, concentrating their flavours and evolving when properly cured.

Being a mostly sativa plant indoor growers should be aware of the prominent stretch that it will encounter in its first 4 weeks of flowering, Pruning is recommended for wider style plants, excellent indoors, outdoors in warmer climates, or in greenhouse environments.
Depending on preferences and conditions, you should expect her to flower for 10-12 weeks.
Above average yield, unparalleled potency and flavour.

Fed's hawaiian sativa and ISS always had an appeal... does anyone know the ISS lineage? if it is hawaiian sat x skunk then that would make perfect sense, as when i crossed a hawaiian cherry sativa to a sam's skunk #1 it had stellar results similar to what ISS always appears to be. can get 3x+ stretch cometimes heh... does fed's have an incensey hazeish smell to it? what about flowering smells? btw don't discount selfed seeds... done right, 100% female become a realistic dream :) i've had 100% females of my haw x skunk for a while now an mmmm. well, it's not fed's ISS, but here are some pics, phenos for comparison i suppose... like capt asks, is the ISS stable being worked from a single cut? perhaps i could take tips based on what the ISS pheno is like on which pheno I should keep ;) thanks, n peace n green thumbs all :joint:

12/12 from seed.

Don't know how you derive 1/2 of IC from 20 packs but anyway, if the seeds are from the ISS clone floating around Van they should be good. I would think they are F2's though.

If you mean the skunk you been looking for as in that roadkill skunk from the 70's alot of you guys are after I'm not sure its it.

I've never had it personally but all the reports I read on it said its a great fruity sativa and people seem to like it. But none of them said it was that pungent funk skunk. they said it was sweet and floral, like TFD's pure but more stable.

like I say I never had it myself. but thats what I heard about it.

good news guys!! yo'd be surprised what a little digging can do

selfed sweet skunk beans, a la cannabis cowboy, breeder of soulshine, the mother of the mountain jam cross: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=39133

edit: oops, I see octavian beat me to it.

chiefsmokingbud: my understanding is that ISS is a clone. so if its a clone, where did some random company like federation get a father with which to make F2s? the only legit sweet skunk seeds I've ever been aware of have all been S1s.

Not sure Lorax but the ISS is supposed to be very very close to the cut!!!

And the Mikado is some kind of copy of the Sweet Pink Grapefruit.According to many who have grown them out they are killer...
I've read on many occasions that the ISS is just like the Sweet Skunk cut...
I guess I'll know how good it is soon enough.

i had a chance to smoke some of what i was told was the sweet skunk clone. it was superb, i've been saying that it is one of the most underrated cuts out there. beautiful long narrow skunk leaves... i'd like to put my hands on that!

The Island sweet skunk is certainly not the same as the Spice of Life original, or the clone that we love so much, just another knock off of Steve's work. If you are looking Sweet Skunk hybrid I would recommend the sweet blue from SOL, The original from the source bred with a proven father from DJ Short.
