Thanks for stopping in Cannibis Cowboy!!!!

We will be swiping up some of those S1's as soon as they are availible!!
Is there a date for you to have them to Red?Will any be listed at Seedbay?

We all figured that the ISS was a knock off of Steves gear but we were all hoping for a special plant out of the pack of seeds..If you can't get the original gear you have to try to do the next best thing and hope for a special plant to pop up..It certainly can and does happen..I just wished I knew the S1's were going to be availible before getting the ISS..
I'm be doing both it looks like :chin: More the merrier I guess....

Enjoy reading your post and glad to see you stop in....

Take care and stop by more often.............................CC

Looked through your article the other day at the bookstore...Killer hash photos bro!!

Diego,
the description used to say Hawaiian X Afghani but now is Haze X Afghani..

I used to hear good things about it back when the seed was availible..

Mr. Dank has grown a few of their varieties with very good results..
I trust his judgement when it comes to killer herbs...Main reason I went for it with the Fed strains...

I thought it was just a swt3 f2 or something like that?

edit: talking about cotton candy, not ISS

Hi lorax

Sweet Skunk came from a batch of seed from the Sweet Pink Grapefruit clone crossed with Sensi Big Skunk. If I remember correctly, it was a batch of about 500 seeds, and the SS was the standout excellent individual.

EDIT: Oh, you meant Cotton Candy...I think that might have been a sweettooth derivative.

Hello everybody,
I might chime in with some of my opinions and experiences with a few of the mentioned strains if you all don't mind.

First off Capt Crypt, yes, the ISS is what you want. She is hands down the best skunk or skunk hybrid I have ever grown. She is BIG, stretchy with large buds, and a mouth watering sour-lemon-skunky smell and flavor ever. She works so very well with hybrids too.

The Mikado is some seriously good funk too. She is supposed to be a knock off of the original SPG, but I find that either bullshit or else Federation worked with a far different phenotype produced from the SPG and has been working with that. Reason I say that is because I have grown many seeds of Sweet Tooth #3 which is a SPG backcrossed several times to be almost pure SPG. Well, there are absolutely NO similarities between ANY Mikado or ST#3 I have ever grown or smoked.

Hope this helps.

I remember talking with Sam Skunk Man a long time ago on OG. He was saying there were originally 2 strains of skunk. One sweet and one road kill strain. He stated that he liked the sweet skunk better and this was his final product. The skunky skunk kind of went it's seperate way without all the publicity that the sweet skunk had, but still made a name for itself.

I remember a strain of skunk in the early 90's that smelled just as a dead skunk on the highway which was bright green with flourecent orange hairs. One nugget would stink the entire house and a pipe load would give an intense uplifting high for hours. I was very interested and have read a lot on the subject as I wanted to again find this long lost strain from my past.

I have also heard rumours that state the skunky skunk was just plain to noxious to grow and growers were being busted too easily by the smell alone. That is why it became so rare - but this is just from unknown forum members, so who knows if this bit is true or not. It does sound plausable though as I remember it being the most noxious smelling weed I can remember ever obtaining and must be a bitch to grow, especially in the later part of the 80's and early 90's.

So, after that bit of boring rambling, does anyone know of a cut or seed source that closely resembles (or better yet -IS) the skunky skunk strain? Is it now extinct? I have grown numerous skunk strains and have yet to find one similar to my past.

hmm about the cotton candy... since it said haw x afghani and now haze x afg i wouldn't be surprised if it were still the hawaiian just one that exhibited the haze smell strongly, and they changed the description to haze as a selling point. which i think is a shame as folks should know it's the hawaiian with such sweet traits, nevermind the misrepresentation.

anyone have any pics of ISS plants? seed or clone, would be nice to toss em up for us :p

It's not extinct my friend. I can't lead you to the source, but I've occasionally smelled the Skunky Skunk's prescence while touring the Amsterdam coffeeshops, it does stand out as a smell after all. So it's around, at least in Amsterdam.
I remember smoking it in Denmark in the early 90's. I haven't really thought about it since, but a couple of years ago when I drove down a Virginia country road a hot summerday, with plenty of skunk roadkill along the way, a putrifying skunk/rotting corpse odour invaded the car, and I thought "damn, it really smells just like it."
I couldn't pin it on a particular strain, but it brought back memories, remembrance of things past.

I.S.S was one of the first strains in my garden, it was a clone gifted to me from another grower friend. 3 years later I still have it. It is a very special smoke. I let mine go at least 10 weeks , but can go longer( the buds get bigger and bigger). It seems to handle nutes very well in flower. The end product is amazing, unique smell and taste, and a very cerebral high with just enough body to it to be relaxing. Very nice stuff Capt. I think you'll be very happy.

The roadkill is rare these days, but I have seen it around the Atlanta area. Just letting people know real skunky weed is still around.

Only problem I have encountered with Fed's products is that phenotypes are all over the place. Even with ISS and Mikado, which you would think would be fairly stable, phenotypes are all over the place.

With the ISS, you want to look for the plants that are vigorous and stretch when flowered, have very long and somewhat fluffy bud pattern yet still very heavy in terms of yield. She has a very sweet bud smell early in flower, and then turns in to a super pungent smell towards the end of flower. She waits to pack on her weight till the very end.

Another pheno that I liked a lot was a total freak phenotype that was very dense and tight with rock hard nuggets that tasted just like a good piece of grapefruit, with a smack of musk. She grew short and stout and was covered in beautiful orange hairs, and beneath the hairs was a crown of crystals. She was what I used for my Golden Goat mother.

I also had a few phenotypes that turned purple on me.

Also CC, have a blast with those Romulan and Mikado's, and keep an eye out for that keeper. How many packs of each did you get?

I only got one of each........
I thought there was more stock but it seems like most of it is sold or going fast...
I think she is planning to get some more if availible..
I wish I had grabbed at least 2 of each but I guess 1 is better than none :woohoo: ....
I'm good germing so should get 100% or near..
When things get better for ya Dank they will be waiting..(what ever I find that is....)
Take care my friend.....................................CC

I am glad to here the real old school Skunky skunk is still around. I have been looking for a cut, or even just the buds from the late 90's until present. I still have not found it myself, but at least I know my search won't be in vain. Thanks for letting me know she still exists. Woo hooo!!!

I don't know for sure if it was super skunk. but a buddy of mine was getting these really dark, fat skunk nugs. They smelt like a 100 year old man that was beat with a dead skunk. And the high was smashing. So the dirty skunks are still out there. Better then the fruity skunks. Only skunks better then the super skunks I had was a killer pheno of skunk #1, it smelt really chocolate. The stone was more of a part euphoric high.

The smell of a skunk...

The smell of a skunk...

I used to have a SS Chronic "mom" that was ass crack skunk in smell and taste. Skunks are everywhere, each has its own unique stank. Grow out a few hundred seeds and I'm sure you'll find a putrid skunk that fullfils the inner skunk. ;)

The smell of a skunk is almost better then that of a fart trapped under the covers. :yoinks:

When driving down the road and we smell a road kill skunk my wife always plugs her nose. I can't understand why, I think it is a beautiful smell! I'm sure I wouldn't want to be sprayed by one, but from a distance it is remarkable.
