My Afghan 78 def passed on mold/pest resistance. Very musky aromas, flowering time 80 days.. I didn't find any A78 that finished under 70 days. None had broadleaf, Short/squat structure, or fast flowering.

1 pheno from the A78xP420 will go 100-120 days.

WTF lol. Can someone translate this ..
THC/CBD ratio <7 (almost always >2). Mature achenes usually ≥ 3.6 mm long (Fig. 3a, b); perianth mostly sloughed off (appearing as irregular spots or stripes); exposed exocarp exhibiting prominent venation; lacking a prominent protuberant base; not disarticulating from plant, and often trapped in the dense inflorescence var. afghanica (“Indica” in the historical sense2)

How does everyone define an Afghan these days? Broadleaf?, Terps ?. short stature? or just the region the seeds originated from?.. I'm finding Poly hybrid looking Sativas in Afghan seeds.. That Bodhi Black Kandahar looks like mostly Sativa. Do Afghans typically flower faster or is this not an issue ?.
I think anything that was sourced from Afghanistan I would consider an "afghan", but more specifically the inbred lines selected by which ever regional drug market
Was it fem or regular seeds because WOS only has the fem is stock?
I grew the W.O.S Afghan Kush Regs, that's what I have ATM. https://www.alchimiaweb.com/en/afghan-kush-regular-product-6547.php

Not for USA based customers though, I guess the best alternative would be the feminized seeds they offer on the W.O.S. website.

Thanks for the quick reply, I prefer the regs myself. I personally think you get more phenotypes from regs than fems and that sounds like thats the ticket to a really potent pheno.

So they don't ship tot he US? Thats a bummer.

EDIT [TYPOS+FORMAT]:

I take it they mean the THC is always more than the CBD, so if it were 1 it would be 50/50

Achenes= seeds

Perianth in cannabis is the thin layer that covers the seeds and either gives them spots or stripes, in this case irregular spot/stripes

Exposed exocarp exhibiting... : the part of the seed not covered by the perianth shows strong venation

lacking ...protuberant base : unlike durban seeds, they are rounded and don't show a proper base (butt of the seed)

Not disarticulating...dense inflorescence: Unlike some types where the seeds pop off the bud really easily and are visible, this one tends to hold on to them and they are not easily spotted,
probably because the bracts are narrow...

var. Afghanica (please tell me you don't need me to explain this part)
indica in the historical sense (i guess it's folk nomenclature if they are not referring to Lamarck)

None of that paragraph was meant for growers lol. I know what most of the words used mean. Writing it like that was nonsense IMO. This is pretty much all that needs to be remembered as a grower.

THC:CBD ratio between 2:1 and 7:1 and dense flowers would interest many if not most growers. The rest is a description of what the seeds look like.

That is an excellent graph, thanks for posting it.

Most of that paragraph was not meant for growers IMO. I read a lot of cannabis related material. That's why it stood out to me. Looks like they interpret cannabis seeds as fruit. THC/CBD ratios are super easy info to interpret/explain. That doesn't tell me it's an Afghan.

Really?? Why isn't this strain talked about in the same manner a lot more
Low yield and high susceptibility to intersex and mold. Those are why I stopped growing it after the first harvest, if I kept the clones past cure I would have kept growing it in a micro tent just to keep smoke stash but the female I had(all of them) produced ballsacks/intersex traits.

The smoke was one of the best I've ever had, always worth it if you're just fucking around looking to find something new but lots of work to select the very best/stable pheno.

Does anyone know if Maple Leaf and Purest Indica are basically the same?. The elevation between Hindu and Mazar are different. I did find some info that Murphy's afghan(Purest indica) was worked into Nevils Mazar line?. . Figuring out who did what is the hardest part.

Maple leaf is listed from Afghanistan (Mazar-I-Sharif)
Purest Indica is listed as Afghani.

That's interesting, I'm surprised someone hasn't work the line to remove at least the intersex issue. Plenty of strains are susceptible to mold. Plenty of people will compromise on yield. Look at DC for example

I reached out to WOS but keep getting email kicked back due to size. Not a proper email address more like a chat box.

I am trying to find a alternative way to ask them about their Afghan Kush. If its anything like a pheno of Endless Sky I had over 15years ago I am interested.

It would put you in a trance just staring forward in bliss.

WOS has two Afghan Kushes. The regular (which by the way is sold out so someone's been buying it), and the Afghan Kush Special, which is has been a gone "through a rigorous programme of selection and improvement using some truly explosive male and female Afghan Kush specimens".

So I guess someone has, but it wasn't some guy online, but WOS themselves?

@goingrey so the special is the same line just with better selection?
