Zamal Hash Plant - Last Lap

High Mayan. Looks like your back in town and around the boards. Still curing the ZH? Would love to hear a smoke report when you do smoke her. Peace... :tiphat:SR

Hey all...well - thanks for the curiosity and patience. I am always amused how -after promising smoke reports, folks after harvest just fade away to ethers and vapors without the promised and all important smoke report...Not gonna happen here!! (although I wish my words and pictures were better.) Phew...with that said...

So, I have tried to hold off sampling this strain until the cure was complete (at least, in my mind). Tried some this morning...first, let me tell you, it is powerful. Muis powerful! My initial impressions, based on the sample, is that it kicks in with a powerful electric body and VERY expansive head. Not at all couch-locked - very clear but its the clarity of having made through several thousand feet of gray cloud cover to pristine blue skies. In other words, no mistaking the clarity for just another state of mind - one knows that one is soaring.

After an hour or so, the electric buzz that my body became began to morph into a nice relaxed state - again, very clear and clearly altered but a good deal of relaxation. The old "I can move if I want to but I don't really see a present need to do so" - that type of relaxation.

The scent of the cured bud has settled into having distinctly citric-dominant lead with some notes of confections and something else. I'll continue to work on it.

I'll try to post some more when I get to know the strain even better. As I only have grown out one seed, I'm thinking about casting another one upon the waters and seeing what I get. I will definitely grow this out again if given the opportunity.

Enjoy!!

What Baron said..

Looks like it's been dipped in caster sugar or something.. This plant seems to be a bit of a retro revamp of old classic hasplant hybrids - pure indi to pure sativa - always the best. Except of course the Zamal is hardly classic in my mind (well, I suppose it is considering it's landrace origin but only brought to light recently). There doesn't seem to be many playing around with ole school Hasplant vars much. Makes me wish there were more pure indies to pure thai and Mexicans..

Props Ace and brother mayan (as per.. ;))

Awesome:woohoo: and thank you for the report. Very stoked. Not to compete, but mine now at 6 weeks is looking crazy good. I will have to get some pics when done. If you don't care I can post them here so to keep ZH pics together? I only got one seed, but a dousy. For sure the largest harvest of all I've ever had and I gestimate 5 ozs plus. If you got more seeds I would pop 'em after hearing your report and after you see mine. I only pinched aggressively till early bloom and she grew 30+ side tops with own branching and with with one branch making her lookin' like she got topped. Mine is more bushy and takes up 2 spots. My friend says she smells of citrus too and she smells very good, but not too strong odor wise. I'm definitely thinkin' reveg now. Great high description and can hardly wait. And an almost 2 month cure like yours still to go. Longer the better I'd presume with the Sativa Zamal that she will just keep getting better and more head. Thanx again and hope all the best in your grows and life. Peace... :tiphat:SR

looks like really good hashplant cross :respect: to ACE

My ZH

My ZH

She was pinched aggressively in veg and is over 30 branches though some are hanging low. The left top is only a branch(the branch that could) and the top is the right one. High hopes for this. Smoke report comin' later. Not weighed yet. Looks great and very resinous/oily. She was underfed sadly most of bloom and totally rootbound and really needed bigger pot. Still very impressive yield. Thanx Ace crew. Here is a couple quick pics I was able to get. Peace... :tiphat:SR

That's a nice looking plant Speedracer - you and mayan have done some nice work there.

Very very sorry to say...

Very very sorry to say...

The ZH I did and would have been best harvest for me, I tried to dry slower and have been very sick lately alot and molded the entire thing just enough to make it trash. I almost cried as I do only a few plants and took me down to just 2 jars though another was just done so thats good. Always something good despite all the bad out there. Sorry will be no smoke report. Did get 3 more seeds with a few others so eventually givin' this another try by the Grace of God and in bigger pot lets see what happens. Peace... :tiphat:SR

Can anyone chime in on the sexual stability of the zamal hashplant? I believe I read that zamal has a tendency to hermi. Curious if that passes on in this cross.

Seems perfectly stable to me, have seen nothing to show any issues. I think you can pretty much trust Ace's gear (but I would say that on an Ace forum :)) and most people who have grown any will probably say the same.
Give them a go, you might be impressed :)

@Speed Racer
That sounds bad, sorry to hear it:/
On the other hand, now you know how not to dry;)

I have a ZH seedling for backup and I saved a place for it, so in some weeks it will go sunbathing. I hope it won't get too stinky lol.

Thanks BG. I have one started now, waiting for it to give me some branches to take cuts from. Just wanted to know if I need to keep a watch out for nanners. From all I've read (although there's not a lot out there) it's a great plant to grow and smoke. Can't wait to finally get some ace gear to harvest.

Yes I can. I only germed one seed, grew it out in my Spring photoperiod polytunnel grow. The increasing spring photoperiod (it wa around 11.5 hours daylight when I planted them out and by the time I chopped the top of the plant (I'm hoping she'll re-veg so I left all the lowers) it was nearly 15 hours.

These conditions certainly caused a lot of the various strains to hermy. Despite the Zamal's reputation for instability, the Zamal Hash was unaffected, in fact the Ace gear was 99% (ok, so I'm no mathematician, but you know what I mean) clear of this phenomenon, with a couple of very late nanners popping up on my Bubba Kush x Hashplant but I removed them and they didn't re-occur. Personally I'm impressed.

Just thinking about what I wrote there, it's a it misleading. I meant that the Ace FEMINISED strains were 99% free from hermies. In the regular lines I had late nanners on Bangi Haze, Nep Jam, and Orient Express. That make the lack of nanners from the ZH even more impressive imo.
