y the fuck do ppl get so "hung-up" about dreadlocks????

L

longearedfriend

seriously? When the majority of vocal cannabis proponents are burnt-out losers, how do you expect the "movement" to ever be taken seriously by mainstream society?

^^

aw don't be like that brother...

there are non smokers that want legalization too

non-smokers that speak out against prohibition

...

I think calling other people losers...........................................................

what kind of vocal cannabis proponent are you ?

I presume you aren't one to begin with...

and I understand... maybe for security or laziness you don't want to implicate yourself.. well I don't think you should judge

I think- because dread hair smells sometimes :hide: but fuck it- it's your life (nose)
eminem is listening to deadmau5 as of late
ya most of the time there just lazy to dip there dread in water and viniger, lol:tiphat:
yah ive had a dread thread here and there on here, but sometimes shit ppl say just erks me.

my wife and 5 month old son are visiting the grandparents in tx today, and my wife has 1 dread in her hair, and i haven't cut or combed my hair in 6 months..i have had dreads over half my life.

we prolly won't be cutting hunters hair, and if he wants dreads or not is his business.

but my parents give her shit about what dreads represent and how they are soooo bad.

my mom spends a few hundred buks a month to get her hair did, and yah it always looks "nice", (not my taste tho)...but i dont give her shit about it.

.....why the fuck do ppl need to judge other ppl so harshly on such a meaningless issue?

dreads are the only hairstyle that i personally like...i don't care what anyone does w/ their own hair..... and i like how they spit non-conformity... but really it's just fukin hair.

off rant :tiphat:
its a socialogical perception and repersentation of hood smoking thugs who do and deal drugs.or have an anti social carateristics.(dont hate on the spelling as i swing my dreads back)(that i no longer have)LMAO).peace:tiphat:

Slavery was abolished in the 1860's..the Civil Rights Act was passed in the 1960's...Where were all these white people that disagreed???

How many 30+ old white guys wake up one day and say i want to get dreads? Why does it all seem to begin at a certain age AND end at a certain age???

obviously not in a position of power to be able to make changes, or should i say that the majority had things the way that they wanted it and requested no changes from their representatives not to say there where heaps and tons but a select few didnt beleive... ye compliance on your 2nd point once they are deep enough into the corporate or business life there is no turning back, so the norm is befor they jump into that life style get everything that doesnt fit done and out of the way, some just never make it back...

That's exactly my point....well off white kids tend to play with the "darkside" for a little while and then when "real life" begins they return back to their normal ways. To be honest, I think we are at the point where society accepts this as a phase which some of their kids will go through.

.....and we have already voted on the use of the term 'wigga' here :I don't mind the word 'Wigga' (on this site) 790 82.04%
'Wigga' is a racist slur.....BAN THE WORD! 173 17.96%

ye, i feel some kind of way about it as i am mixed, though my african american is obvious. i apologize, anger does get the best of me at times, and i tend to fly off the handle when it does. but this statement highlighted means what? the majority has never been wrong before??

you say "real life" like the corporate life is the only reality that its possible to make a living

well if our time here is truly finite, which it is, I say we reject all assumptions of what this subjective reality is "supposed" to be, spend a little more time creating what you want it to be. little harder but worth the effort

Simply providing a glimpse into the viewpoint of the rest of the country with that statement. :tiphat: Nobody takes the cannabis legalization movement seriously because we have yet to give them a reason to...

I am who I am coz I is who I is.
The reason the cannabis movement isn't going anywhere, isn't to do with us the people, its to do with the giant pharmecuetical companys mainly, who throw millions if not billions of dollars towards non legalization for the simple fact is, they dont want cannabis stealing away all their millions of dollars of profits they make off synthetic medicines, Which cannabis has many of uses which would override the expensive medicinal care we pay for atm.

Until they can legitimately make a synthetic drug in the exact same form as the natural plant itself, they wont fail to stop all movements to abolish prohibition.

You cant patent nature, but you can make it illegal until its possible to own a patent exactly identical to this nature.

:S fucked up.
Peace n Pot.

of course that is a large part of the issue, perhaps the largest. But to deny that we as a group are not providing a good image to support our cause is asinine and yet another example of how we pass blame off to others rather than working on the issues that we actually can change.

exactly

the government is afraid of smart people with books in their hands and ideas in their heads. if we had more doctors and successful professionals come forward to represent and be honest about cannabis this would cause trouble for the establishment. the problem is many of the smart professionals are benefiting financially from cannabis being illegal so...change will be slow.

side note

lets admire some really clean dreads

Gypsy why don't you like hair again??? lol

The world is comprised of just two
types of people, those who have
dreadlocks and those who don't.

I'm colour blind especially on the internet.....it's not what you look like that matters here, but it's what you say and so to me it is not obvious that you are African American, this being a global site and all...

....Your apology is accepted because I know all about anger and have over the years managed to think before my emotions take precedance over my actions......and the statement means nothing more than the vast majority do not find that particular word particularly offensive......

Humans are naturally mistrustful of other humans, especially if they are different. It goes way back to our beginnings.

It's tribal. It's based in part in fear. That's why people gravitate towards people they feel are "like" them. They feel comfortable around their own "kind" and distrust those that are not.

Some people can get beyond that, some can't.

I haven't walked a mile in your shoes, so I can't say I know how you feel. But I do know how it feels to be ostracized and treated like an outsider.

Some people just suck. Some of us ain't so bad once you get to know us.

Sacred, that pic is just manky! lol, thats what not to do if you have dreads / long hair.

Also, if humans weren't so greedy it would be much easier to help the cannabis movement, to many growers and dealers out there do it specifically for the money, and they also help towards the votes of not legalising, they dont want there high paying growing jobs to be snapped up by big companys as soon as its legal.

If you were a well known doctor / scientist, and you were trying to speak out on the good of cannabis, and a no named "suit" comes up to you and sais, change everything you are saying about cannabis and tell a few white lies, we will pay you handsomly for this. Or you may lose your job... and credibility.

Alot of people cant say no to that. Its a hard world we live in :(.

Perhaps if our own slice of society thinks like this, the "movement" will never be taken seriously by mainstream society.

If we can't pull our own head out of ourselves, we cannot expect anyone else to.

Marley presented an image of peace and happiness... I don't see a burnt out loser, I see a cannabis enthusiast and human hero.

I've said my piece in regards to this subject and frankly I don't know how anyone could try to argue against the point that the most vocal proponents of cannabis are typically not the people we really want telling our story to "mainstream society."

....I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. :tiphat:

What do you see?

I see a musician who I grew up listening to, not much more than that. Not sure how Bob Marley came into this discussion, really...
