this threadis becoming the real deal! i have to say i really stopped listening to whats out there and started listening to my old stuff (bigL,nas, dmx, skills, roots) and some of the new cats that i know personaly. so these new names im gonna definitely have to take a listen, maybe i dont have to turn my ears off to what is concisdered new age rap, and go back underground where it all started. KEEP THE NAMES OF THE ARTISTS COMIN, SO WE CAN LOOK/LISTEN THEM UP AS WE GO!!! without you guys on here, i woudlnt have even known they existed.

good lookin out ya'll, one!!

I'm not trying to hate, but you know much of 'underground rap' are just jealous they don't have what it takes to make it mainstream. It's been favorites among certain peoples of songs that are like "mainstream is fake, underground for life." That gives me a chuckle. It's common understanding that the only thing that separates mainstream from underground is fanbase, and the money.

If everyone in the world started listening to Jedi Mind, then he would be mainstream. To make that distinction between mainstream and underground is like saying, "I just want to listen to whatever that's not popular."

Chiefinbud, rap was always about parodies, sampling, and reusing lines. Think about how many lines Jay-Z stole, in just about every one of his songs. I'd only call anyone a biter if they didn't add any of their own content.

The tupak myspace page does not even have tupak music. Now how ****ed up is that. He was the most creative talented rapper of our time. He had the flow the tone and the writing ability like no other. So many gangster loosers are still trying to make money off him. For people that liked biggie ,he was a tight flowing rapper but his tone was almost like fat alberts and I dont mean that in a mean way he really sounded like fat albert

As far as the rappers today it is almost like bad children nursery rhymes. They have no time meaning they cant even flow to the beat, their tone is wack and they are making millions. We had better rappers in 8th grade.
