Please, Unicorn. Where was that light intensity scheme. I can't find it, and would like to know how far from the 600w hps my widows tops should be?

looking very nice for sure

honestly the lighting distance chart is a good guide, but the back of your hand after the light reachs operating temps is a better guide. my 400w hps takes approx 1.5-2 hrs to reach full operating temp, i took the back of my hand and placed it under the light. close but not close enough to burn hand then i would lower hand till it felt good, now i hang a thermostat for fish tank the plain ole mercury 1's. i'll check in 30 min's to see temps then i adjust from there, ive found that sometimes just a reposition of a fan or 2 can also drop temps. that was for my old lighting now i have a air cooled hood and can touch the glass :) my temps run 78-80 at 6inch below glass on hood :)

Sounds nice, thx m8. I just don't have that feeling for the heat yet. So whenever i can hold my hand with comfort it should be okay for the plant also? That lamp sure sounds nice.
That scheme just tells me a lot of the importance of having the light a close as absolutely possible. I miss out on a lot of good lumens these days. I'll move them closer tomorrow - hell, i'll be moving them closer right now. Just have to go outside brrrr. middle of night.
Are the plants doing ok for their age u think? I find them a bit small, but since it's my first grow i wouldn't know.

By the way ... we had some talk about ph downs, and weather it would be better to use ph-down bought rather than making my own from battery acid (sulphuric acid) I bought the battery acid and just received the ph-down today. Ph-down contains only... lol sulphuric acid, phosphorus acid and water hehe. Battery acid is definately the waaaaay cheapest way to go. I bought my first and last bottle of ph-down. The 1l of acid will last for years. 6$ for the 1l.

Yes indeed.. I owe Sproutco a beer and a spliff. I moved the plants only 40 cm from the 600w hps now. Didn't feel too warm on my hand. What do you think. Could they go even closer?

Hi Guys. I think there's something wrong with the plants. They must have some kind of def. I'm gonna post this on the infirmery as well.
The Widows are about 40cm from the lamp.
The blower is on and of every hour.
There's just about 25 c and 50 hum in the room.

At firs sight they look pretty ok, but u can see the leaves are a bit curly and many colors.

Is this burning from the lamp's heat? It's the only one doing this "rise of leafborders"

Then we have these Jack Herers. The one to the right is waaay bigger than the others. I had on under the hps for 2 days, but forgot to mark it, since i couldn't see a difference of the once under the fluors and the one under the hps. Could the one under hps for two day's have had an advance on root growth or something that i couldn't see before now? Notice the camera angle. The one to the left is actually close to as far away of the camera as the right one;

Raise the light back up some and see if the new growth shows the same symptoms. If not, then it was the light/heat damage causing the problem. If the problems persist, then you may be looking at a mg deficiency. I am not an expert, so look into getting another opinion...

hi, a few ?'s in order to try and help you out. What kind of nutrients are you using? And how much of each nute are you giving them?

When you say your blower is off for 1 hour and then on again...is this while the light is on or off. I would suggest that while your 600 is on, you leave the fan on the entire time. Those 600's get hot, but if you can hold your hand under the light the plants should be fine. I'll stop back soon and try to help out! -xH

ps- on 2nd thought i scrolled back through to see what kind of nutes you were using...those bottles of GH look so old, im not sure how long they last because i always use my bottle within 6-12 months. If those nutrients were near heat or sunlight they may not work anymore.

I didn't think of the bottles might be too old. They are a couple of years old. Haven't had much heat or light though.

I'll be having it on when lights are on from now on.
TNJed. Tx guys. The problem seem to have been fixed. They look better now. Even put them closer to light, but they like. I'm gonna take some pictures tomorrow

The yellowing looks to me like a request for more nutes.

I wouldn't worry about this (and doesn't look burned) - here is a Cindy 99 whose leaf margins have since week 3 or so curled upwards slightly like your WW. Last week substituted Cal-Mag Plus for 1/2 of the flowering ferts and she still wants to curl. I believe it's in the genes. She's got the most bulk of flowers of the batch so far at week 2:

I think you're right about that pheno. Does look a lot like yours. I think you're right about the request for nutes. I only fed like half strength still. Just heard so many saying to be carefull with the widow, so thought it would be okay. I'm gonna give the full strength tomorrow and see how they'll take it.
They all yellow. But still look quite healthy;

Some Jack seedlings in the middle. Comparing them to the ones under fluors. Just to see which will be better. So far it's pretty the same.

A little Jack Herer. Doesn't look very happy

This is my favourithe. Pretty branchy and vigourous.

Okay - today everybody got full strengt nutes. The two week Jack Herer seedlings got it too, and i'll see what happens. I'll flush them if they weren't ready. I just had an idea, that the plants would grow perfectly, but slower when underfed, but it seems i was wrong, and the plants turn yellow and sad. Hope they'll be better the next couple of days (they're not completely sad, just a bit)
You can easily see how the entire garden is quite yellow. Think it'll be much better tomorrow. It will soon be cloning time. Im thinking of topping the widows, to stall their hight a bit, and the continue vegging till the Jacks can be topped, and then right after that put all 17 plants to flower at the same time. Would this be a bad idea?
Notice the 1 Jack Herer Seedling just exploding compared to it's sisters

I mean... would the plants be too big for the one 600hps with a wide screen? Remember that 11jacks will contain some males (most likely - if not :woohoo: )

Great thread and grow ya got here Mibri

I really like your veg area set up with the flouros.

Looks to me like your older Widows are lookin for some N :2cents: Seedlings will let you know when they need nutes, some start off yellow and light...nature has given what they need to survive on their own for a few weeks.

You're working with some potent strains. Jack Herer isn't my style of buzz (a little racy for me) but it is extremely potent. First weed in a long time to make me paranoid

Good Luck with the flowering :ying:

The plants are looking good Mibri. I am going to have to grow some White Widow out one of these days. Same goes for the Jack Herer.

If I am not mistaken, Jack Herer is one of the parent plants of C99.

You are going to have some great smoke here pretty soon. :joint:
