Damn, but I just thought of a great topic for debate! You'll see, you'll love it... In addition to not bore those of the American continent, it is sure to please the geopolitical cultural level you spend...(You said me it was England, Scotland, Wales, and...I can't remember anymore): 3 VISIONS OF AMERICA : Differences and similarities sociopolitical and supranational structure between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and the Federative Republic of States of Brazil. ...and while we are at it, we show respect to homeless guy, and we comment and analyze what the possible "white privilege" means in those three nations... Or we comment on the differences and similarities, successes and failures, in the integration of minorities or coexistence, between the Dutch, French, British, Portuguese/Spanish, Belgian, American, Canadian, South African "models"...

Bad news for many: I have enough green and rum to go on all year....
But let's go back to analyze the play that has happened here....:
First Gypsy tells us that in his time the white working class youth had almost no other way out than soccer and music (as in the Congo); then comes this "destripaterrones" political geography professor, to tell us that then there was only 5,% of non-whites in the UK, but as the percentage increased, the education system focused on non-whites, with which now came the punch line = now the poor whites did not even learn music, and above many blacks played better soccer, he only needed to clarify (now, worse than in the Congo). ..

Of course, when you point out the great and interested distortion and exaggeration of their statements, it is not because they fall under their own weight, no .... It is because you are envious of their economic level (what the fuck are we talking about? weren't you telling me about an almost Third World situation, but it turns out that you see reasons for them to envy you from the 14th power of the First World?), or you hate white people, especially the English Anglo-Saxons?

Fortunately, by putting up with so much meat with eyes, one can always learn something... as it was...: England, Wales.... No doubt it will take me some time to assimilate so much enlightenment...

But let's focus again on the topic of debate proposed by homeless guy. Since it seems that GMT complains about the poor level of the debate, I will focus on the geographical area I mastered best, and try to make a historical analysis of the evolution of the concept and reality of a "white privilege" in Spain. I point out that I do not have a university education, so I may make mistakes or state facts that have been reinterpreted later: I await your kind corrections.

1°:

This idea/fact in Spain, I believe, does not begin to appear after the decomposition of the "Hispanic" Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba into Islamic Kingdoms of Taifas, and the following invasions of the Almoravid Emirate and the Almohad Caliphate. Prior to that, the black minority does not appear in the Spanish archaeological record until the Chalcolithic/early Metal Age.

In my next installment, I will try to give an overview of this presence from this date, up to the medieval invasions mentioned at the beginning...

2°:

2°: About this first appearance of black population in Spain (I do not know if also in Europe) there would be much to talk about, and maybe the future will bring us surprising discoveries. It is in an area and dates from a period in current archaeological revolution, with new discoveries every day: the geographical area of the Kingdom of Tartessos or Tarsis, from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age. This is due to the spectacular and antiquity of the new findings, which confirm what the discovery of Gobleki Teple in Turkey pointed out: we must move back several millennia the passage from the Neolithic to the "urban civilization" in Europe and the Middle East. These last discoveries in Spain are being linked to what the Egyptians and the Greeks would transmute into the myth of Atlantis: Jaen or Low Marroquines, was founded in 3,000 BC : 500 years before the Great Pyramid of Cheops was built, Jaen had about 35 hectares of walled city and another 100 outside walls, and an estimated 11,000 inhabitants. The walls were 5 or 6 concentric circles flooded with the contribution of drinking water from nearby rivers, with walls 2 meters thick (the wall or moat-ring 5 has about 11 kilometers perimeter)... And Jaén is supposed to have been a peripheral city in comparison with the possible capital, probably buried offshore, in what used to be the Atlantic coastline of Cádiz or Huelva...The last finding in the area speaks of the possible location of the colossal structure of the mythical and famous Temple of Hercules that guarded the mythical columns that separated Atlantic from Mediterranean and Europe from Africa, built at the same time as Troy, and object of pilgrimage of the Hellenistic and Phoenician world... So much more is expected from this first archaeological discovery of black population in Spain (Europe?). It is curious: it is a typical coastal town/small city, strongly walled for its defense and with as many signs of fearing those who lived outside the walls, as of owing its prosperity to trade with the outside population. Like a typical Phoenician colonial site. But the great majority of the human remains found in that archaeological site correspond to black population, with a small minority of mestizos with white and some isolated white; outside the walls, among the local people, no isolated black individuals have been found. It is perhaps speculated with a colony more linked to Egypt/Sudan, or a population of this origin integrated in the Phoenician colonization...
This black population was the economically and politically dominant one in the village.

Once commented the first record of black population in Spain, I will jump to the time of the Invasion and Conquest of diverse Iberian peninsular Kingdoms (product of the Tartessian decomposition) by the Punic State of Carthage, in the frame of the Punic Wars against Rome. Here the entrance of another black minority takes place, which can be either free or enslaved. This, added to the fact that the native Iberian whites are below the Carthaginian free blacks, added to the fact that the Carthaginians have more Iberian white slaves than black Africans, prevents the existence of a concept of "white privilege"...

This is a perceptual problem. You shouldn't assume that in a country that has wealth and power, that wealth and power is distributed equally. Britain is not a communist country. Just because some white English people are rich and lead a comfortable life, doesn't mean Britain is the land of milk and honey. There are a lot of people smugglers, making serious money, telling lies to foreigners about Britain, in order to fleece these people out of their life savings. Getting an immigrant on a dinghy into Britain isn't hard, but their future in Britain is not a Rosey one. It will consist of a life of poverty and cold weather. Not an equal share of the riches. Most will end up living on the streets or sharing a house with 20 others. Throughout history, the wealth and power in this country has been concentrated between a few, the majority either made a meager living, or didn't and starved. The British poor, made this country, while the poor in other countries didn't develop their own countries. Now those poor want what our poor sacrificed their lives to create for their kids, and for some reason, think they are entitled to come here and get their share of it. Well the truth is our own poor don't get their share of it, and the British public are sick of people coming in illegally and draining what we do have. So life in the UK for illegal immigrants, isn't going to be that great. You can call that racist or what ever you want, but it applies to any race, any skin shade, if you didn't build it, don't claim it.

Precisely what went wrong when the Spanish, British, French, Portuguese and that Italian came to the Americas.

Ahora voy a saltar a época romana.

Ufff, I wouldn't have been able to survive even in your field : I'm not good at soccer, and I'm more into reggae and son than rockanrolll...

Now I'm going to jump to Roman times. GMT would have told you "I'm glad to have you as a fan" but I'll tell you that if I bother you, I'll leave the thread, that's why you're the boss here.
But if you want to continue learning, don't make a fuss and attend class, like your Chinese, Korean, Singaporean and Filipino classmates do, and then you complain that I have discriminated against you in my class for being white...

Thank you very much for your clarification on the problem of perception....: I tend to forget that south of Britain, from Corunna to Cape Town, the rest of us live in utopian egalitarian societies....

British wealth is not also due to the exploitation of slaves, nor to the exploitation of "foreign" (colonial) workers and resources?
Sure, that explains the British economic boom right after losing most of its empire: Indians and their cows generated nothing but expenses.

And of course I can see first hand the widespread suffering of the British middle, middle/lower and white working class: the beaches and hotels of my country are full of them.... I guess they come for political or economical asylum, and when they are denied it, the poor people have to get drunk until they have to be shoveled out, to forget their hard existence.
Or am I wrong and all the crowd that gathers in Magaluz are children of bankers or lords?

Socialism can only be successful after Capitalism has built up the private capital for the government to take. Those have nots let jealousy get the best of them and 'democracy' takes care of the rest when they see they can vote themselves money. Then sooner or later you run out of other peoples money.

And capitalism amasses 'capital' through theft disguised as earning.

Or if not, continue with the classifications of races by their intelligence as in another thread, or telling me historical nonsense about the Kalergi Plan where the current American economic magnate, the Prince of Viana of the medieval Crown of Navarre, appeared resurrected... How much I laughed my ass off then... You had no fucking idea who the Prince of Viana really was, you recognized me then... You had taken the information from an internet meme...

Worse is paying them to stay home and have more kids. We tried that in the UK, there are generations of people who seem to have children they can't afford as an occupation. The more kids you have, the greater your income and the bigger the council house you get. Be responsible and don't have children you can't afford and you get nothing.
I'm all for a universal income for everyone, rich and poor alike. Anything you earn on top is then what separates you. Any bad decisions you make, you pay for. Watch the rush for work then and the single parent family numbers will plummet.

The problem is the economy not being sustainable. It does not need to grow every year. It only needs to support community not boost select individuals to crazy pinnacles of wealth.

3°:

As I said:
It will be in Roman times when Hispania enters fully into a slave world and economy. Now a considerable amount of black slave population enters Rome. But as Rome has more white slaves than blacks, and in fact many Hispanics will start paying, in their relationship with Rome, with slavery for having been the seat of the European capital of Carthage (they will end up being the second most predominant party of the empire after the Italic and leaving 3 emperors), there can be neither a supremacist nor a "white privilege" feeling.

Artículo de ARTEHISTORIA (Ed. Dolmen)
ROMA Y LA ESCLAVITUD DE HISPANIA:
"

Slave dependence became hegemonic as a consequence of Roman domination. Already in 214 B.C., all the Turdetans allied to the Carthaginians, when taken prisoner, were sold as slaves under the modality of sub-crown sale, that is to say crowned with garlands of flowers (Livy, XXIV, 4, 1). In 208 B.C., Scipio sold all the African prisoners obtained in the battle of Boecula, near Bailen (Livy, XXVII, 19). In 195, Cato sold all the Bergistans (Livy, XXXIV, 21). In 184, Terentius Varron sold as slaves the prisoners taken in Corbion (Livy, XXXIX, 42). And similar news are repeated referring to the following years. Among them, there are some outstanding ones such as the one referring to the year 141, when Q. Fabius Servilianus, after taking three cities (Iscadia, Obulcola and Gemella) that sympathized with the Lusitanian cause, seized 10,000 prisoners: he had 500 cut off their heads and sold the rest as slaves (App., Iber., 68). And in 98 B.C., the consul Titus Didius, having taken Colenda (in the Douro valley), sold all its inhabitants, including women and children, into slavery (App., Iber., 99-100). Many of these Hispanic slaves were taken out of the Peninsula. We have records of cases such as these: that Scipio the African returned to Rome with many prisoners (App., Iber., 38), that 50 prisoners from Numantia were taken to Rome to celebrate Scipio's triumph (App., Iber., 98), that Galba sold Lusitanian prisoners in Gaul (Liv., Per., 49), etc. In 141 B.C., a contingent of Sedetan prisoners being taken to Italy preferred death to slavery and were shipwrecked after piercing the ships carrying them (App., Iber., 77). But not all prisoners/slaves were taken out of the Peninsula. For the slaver and for obvious reasons, the important thing was to take them away from their communities of origin. This is what the Carthaginians did with the Saguntines, who were dispersed throughout the Peninsula (Liv., XXVIII, 39). Sertorius transferred to Lusitania as slaves the troops that fled the battle of Lauro in 76 (Orosius, V, 23, 6). There are frequent reports of prisoners who preferred suicide to a life of slavery. Several collective suicides are reported for such reasons: that of the inhabitants of Astapa, that of the Celtiberians of Contrebia, that of Bracaras women during the campaign of Brutus the Galatian and others. In spite of this, slavery was consolidated in Hispania. This global vision of the distribution of the population according to the legal statutes must be integrated into the analysis of the various economic sectors. Thus, craftsmanship, commerce and mining are the most productive sectors: the benefits they provided were not only derived from their own nature but also from the fact that they represented the economic activities that employed the largest contingent of slave labor, whether native to the Peninsula or imported. Pliny refers how there were Aquitanos working day and night in the silver mines of Baebelo (Nat. hist., 33, 96). And the figure of 40,000 workers in the silver mines of Cartagena, as told by Polybius, forces us to think that all or most of them were slaves, according to the customs of the time in mining operations. We lack complete information on the status of the field workers. While small landowners took care of their farms by themselves or with the help of other members of their families, as has always been the case in the rural world, large landowners were obliged to use the labor of free wage earners or slave labor. In the high imperial period and in the Guadalquivir valley, in the lower Ebro valley and in various areas of the Levante peninsular, the large landowners made use of both salaried and slave labor. The flexibility of use of slave labor, which could be used for any rural or domestic activity, suggests that many large landowners, those who were first Romanized, usually had at least a small group of slaves, as had been the case in the agrarian economy of Italy since the third century BC. As in any traditional society, the differentiation of the sexes generally marked the relationship with work and with the performance of political, administrative or military functions. War was a matter reserved for men, although, exceptionally, there are accounts of women who took up arms: this happened, for example, in the defense of Salamanca against Hannibal's troops; unable to resist the thrust of the Punic troops, the men left the city to surrender themselves and their women, but the women carried their weapons hidden under their sackcloth to be handed over to their men when the Punic defense was carelessly defended (Plutarch, Virt. Mul., 248e). The magistrates of the community, the senators, the components and commanders of the army were men. In addition to the fact that the management of all domestic affairs entrusted to women was a part of the productive process and in addition to the fact that women collaborated in many other directly productive activities (care of orchards, care of domestic livestock, etc.), there is clear news about the added work that many women performed in the care of the loom. A large part of the spinning and weaving tasks were performed in the domestic sphere. A fragment of the Vatican Paradoxograph tells how, among the Iberians, contests were held at certain festivals and prizes were awarded to the women who had woven the most beautiful dresses. And this tradition continued: an inscription from the Imperial period found in Torrecampo (near Martos, Jaén) records the praises of a lady who had shown, among other virtues, her excellent qualities for weaving wool, lanificii praeclara (CIL Il, 1699). While we have some precise information on the conditions of children and their relationship with the productive forces for the high imperial period, there is not a single study on children in Republican Hispania, although there are isolated references to their use as hostages, as components of part of the spoils of war and, therefore, as merchandise.
