Thanks for the positivity...
Waiting on the green tree frogs to come out. I'll know...They'll start barking.
I should be able get some good pics of them. LOL, I always saw them in the pet shops, I thought they were tropical until I moved here (zone 7b) and saw them...They're really cool!!

damn crazy you got those coons up in cages and everything, we have all sorts of coons and possums in my neighborhood but they are all crazy and live in dumpsters.

lol with those coons; you may be asking for some nasty shit. I've got an infestation after going a decade with none.

they've taken up sleeping in an outbuilding I have to use. Hot damn, do they stink! These darn things stink nearly as bad as a skunk. You see them washing their little hands all the time? That's why, they are extremely dirty/smelly creatures.

Neighbors had to poison them, then get a skid loader w/bucket just to load all them up for burial.

I got my live trap out, the smell/nastiness is sickening. Who knew??

Wow...I caught a Southern Black Racer and a Black Swamp Snake today, both move very fast...
I was out "protecting" the property,
We don't get along with the neighbor next door (POS), I was out firing a shotgun, mean while his dog ran away. He thought I was shooting it/at it...so he called the police.

I popped a klonopin and calmly walked over and talked to the COP,as I could not have him on the property:noway:
It may be a large area, but I have a little of this and a little of that all over...:joint:

Everythings cool (so far), goes to show you...you never know, and you can never be too safe...

I'm going to turn on the outside lights tonight, that attracts the bugs which attracts the green tree frogs...So hopefully I get some nice shots tonight...

So please check back...

We just had a nice rain...which brings out the reptiles and amphibians.
I caught this guy leaving my pond moving on...

Common Snapper

Nice sized...they get MUCH larger though...

Very meaty and STRONG...

These guys live up to their name, VERY nasty and very fast , If they get a hold of you, You must remove their head to get them to release...

BTW, The neighbor found his dog and came over to apologize. So no one should be in looking around the property...for now...

awesome thread amigo, i love wildlife in general but raccoons are my absolute favorite. i have loved them since i was a kid. the snapper reminded me of a recent encoujnter i had with an alligator snapping turtle. i was walking the dog down by the local swamp and i came across a monster of a snapper. from head to tail he was about 30 inches. i felt bad for him and was considering trying to help him out of the way as it is a very busy path and i didnt want him to run into trouble but first i wanted a pic. i crouch down flip phone in hand trying to get as close as i can when all of the sudden.. SNAP! the fucker went for me bigtime. luckily hit hit the phone which closed on my hand. it wasnt until i got home and did a wiki check that i realized how dangerous they are, and that when they are on land they are extremely tempermental and down right aggressive. it dawned on me that i could easily have lost a finger.

LOL, like I said they live up to their name...a snapper that size is worth big $$ Some people eat those nasty things...Glad you didn't have to learn the hard way...

Tree frogs are barking like crazy...so I just turned on the outside light...soon the frogs will come...

Finally...

First Tree Frog I Saw This Season.

Smaller Than Average

Never Touch Them With Your Bare Hands!!...Our skin oils are very bad for them.

They blend in VERY well when pray, when in predator mode...They stand out quite a bit.

Next I want to catch my first Blue Crab for the year...They are incredibly beautiful before they are steamed and covered in "Old Bay"!!

Those coons are bad to carry rabies also.......We also made sure our coonhounds had rabies vaccines before hunting.......kinda why I said be careful around the coons especially your childeren if you have any.....you know they look harmless and cute........I love the outdoors and wildlife and respect the animals that are around.....I'd like to see more wildlife/hunting outdoors topics on here

Thanks Lucky...

Today I went crabbing, Only found this...

Sad looking male crab...

However its the first I caught this year (A big deal to me)

LOL, he thought he was going to pinch ME?? You better do something about those deformed claw tips!! (happened when he peeled (shed)

I saw a Red Fox Kit (baby) but it was about 1/4 mile away by the time I got the camera out. I didn't expect to see a nocturnal animal where I was...

I'll get some real nice shots of a "Jumbo/Super" male Blue Crab that'll make this little guy look like shit. Sorry these aren't better pics...
Thread title is: "While scouting for outdoor grow" and thats what these are (I wish I could change thread title).
I'm sure Yah'll won't mind if I actually "look" for wildlife now....

I was trying to get some good pics of just some of the Dragon Fly species...
Tough, because they move so fast, a rarely sit still...

So I just ducked down and waited for them to come to me...

I realized a snake was right there, waiting for me :D (sorry its blurred, I was on the wrong end of him)

Then my Camera battery "died" "shooting" (like those quotations :D)a really neat dragon fly. (kinda like the one pictured, but black wings)

I saw a snapper today while shroom hunting. it was a baby so I thought it was a box turtle and almost reached out to grab it when I noticed the shape of the shell and recoiled quickly... glad i did even if he was small he woulda hurt.

Shit, I just had a male wild turkey in the yard...by the time I zoomed and focused, he flew off....I guess you can't "capture" them all...

Next I'd like to get some nice shots of our Great Blue Herons, quite majestic birds.

You got some nice wildlife in your neck of the woods Elite!
Lovin the tree frogs and the blue crabs.

I'm super arachnophobic, and will not hesitate to kill any spider (except daddy long legs, for some reason) on sight. I've been attacked by spiders a few times, and they always put me in the hospital, so we have a mutual hate relationship, I guess ;)

Anyway, keep up the great shots!

Thanks,
Thats odd, I was talking with someone yesterday about "Granddaddy Long Legs". I haven't seen/or heard about them in years...they used to be EVERYWHERE!!
I was told (I'll have to look it up) that the GD Long Legs are very poisonous, Its just they're fangs are to small to penetrate human skin. Similar to the male black widow...

I almost got another pic of a Huge Wild Turkey...again, right before I snapped the pic, it flew off...maybe next time...

Yup, that's what I've been told too..
Maybe that's why I don't kill them. I know they can't get me, so I'll let them live (they also eat ants and flies, and I don't like either, so it's a good thing)
