Whats up with this gunk?

Sinful Dreams thinks it could be the dye used in the nutes, turning the roots dark. Happens with alot of nutrients and additives on the market.

AN Seni A@B wont stain roots, but Voodoo Juice could.
Sometimes your roots stain, that glop is the Voodoo Juice working. THATS MY GUESS since I am not there and see it 1st hand.
If it starts to Stink, then worry.

its the rot, you need to get a biological additive in there ASAP, and by that i mean hydroguard or hygrozyme stat!

If your getting root breakage then it does sound like root rot setting in. I would get some Hydroguard, pretty quick. Just in case that is rot, cause it will get worse if left untreated.

no worries, just rest at ease once you start the hydroguard, your roots will love you and it will show. And you won't have to worry about root rot.

i would have to say higher res temps, i know you posted that your temps are in the 60's but when did you record that temp? (lights on, off, beginning or end of light cycle) also i was wondering how you keep your res cool in the first place

higher heat causes all kinds of nasties to grow in your res. That or bad water can also casue it by introducing bad bacteria to the water.

If you need help cooling off your res, you can do this.
Take 1 liter or 2 liter soda bottles (3 or 4) and fill with water, cap and freeze. Every day drop a new frozen bottle in the res. Swap out everyday. That will help keep your temps down if needed.

depending on your ambient temps of course, i have to change them twice a day when its hot outside because i use a passive intake that draws directly from outside.
