I wouldn't worry about the bridge trolls too much I have never felt uncomfortable walking around Amsterdam. I've gotten panhandled on pretty much a daily basis for the last ten years so I kind of expect it. Some of the outlying parts of the city are much sketchier than all the things we'll be wanting to see/do... i like the lack of rain in that forecast by velvet, this is going to be a lot of fun. i can't wait for the seminars i'm going to dork out and take notes hehehe

Imho forget the weather reports. pack for rain, wind and sun. All three often happen on the same day in Amsterdam.

I am bringing my black pajamas that I wear skiing. If it rains I will buy a cheap poncho to cover my leather but leather is meant for wet anyways. Ever see BlueVelvet in wet leather? BOG
