i just usually buy a bottle of orange chronic or the other pipe cleaner they have at shops and it works well. I usually just poor the cleaner into a zip lock and put the pipe in, shake it around some, try to get the cleaner into the pipe and close the holes/carbs and shake away. i usually let it sit in there for like 1/2 hour then use warm-hot water and run it through the pipe for ever. CAreful though too much resin could probablyclog the sink or something

How much do those cleaners cost? If I remember correctly they're like $8 for a small bottle. Whereas a bottle of ISO alcohol runs you about $2, if you don't have salt on hand you can pick some up real cheap. On top of that it takes less than 5 minutes to clean the piece. It's really a method that can't be topped, economically and efficiency wise.

you can't go wrong with those fuzzy little "pipe cleaners" in the aisle that sells cigarettes at walmart and some 99cent ISO.

I prefer the >90% iso alcohol and not table salt, but rock salt. Table salt works fine too, but rock salt works better.

why the preference in the iso? i didnt even know they made 90%

the rock salt makes sense though. gonna have to pick me up some. i find salt with a little sand or a mentioned before, rice work great

I do a 24 hour soak in a plastic baggie of iso without anything else. Then rinse with the hottest water i can stand. Sometimes use a toothpic/paperclip for hard areas. Just cleaned up my bowl a couple days ago. I'll try a little salt or rice next time.

Holy shit dude. That is almost identical to the first glass piece I ever bought. Sadly I broke mine some months back, still have all the pieces...just can't quite bring myself to throw it out.

i also soak my hand pipes for several hours and then wash it out with warm water. sometimes i have to get the pipe cleaners out to get certain spots but not too often. my straight piece will wash right out with hot water and my bubbler gets the salt treatment because obv. you can't get the pipe cleaners in a one piece bubbler

I have a Pipe that I hav been puffing on daily since I won it on 4/20/06 and I have yet to clean it. I swear to gawd the thing is still showing design. I dont think I will clean it until it stinks. HA

Ewww. Nasty. To each their own....

And to anyone thinking of boiling their pipe, bad idea, it will weaken or crack it, seen it happen. Bad juju mon :joint:

I use glass and by far the easiest cleaning method is buying a bottle of Formula 420. Its alchohol and silica liquid that you pour in your pipe, no precleanig required, shake for 45 seconds and rinse with plain water. In less than 1 minute, your pipe is as clean as the day you bought it.

Yeah, if you don't mind spending the money, but really, all Formula 420 is: alcohol and silica (sand, basically) with a bit of food coloring in it. You'd be better off buying some 90% alcohol at Walmart for a buck, it'll work just the same and it's cheaper. Unless you WANT to spend 5 bucks on something that costs a buck. Not me. :pimp3:

haha nice.

I find nail polish remover works wonders on all of my glass peices. Just let it sit in them for a while, shake it around and rinse it out good.

iso alcohol - 99 cents
salt- 99 cents
pipe cleaners- 99 cents
clean glass piece that makes your buds taste great- priceless

the other cleaning agents people mentioned do work good but they get spendy....i tried a few different ones just to try them and i could clean 4-5 pipes for around $5-$8....if i spend $5-$8 on iso, salt, and pipe cleaners i can clean probably 50 pipes....you don't even need a toothpic or pipe cleaner for most bowls or if you aren't picky....but i like mine spotless just like i bought it...it's like getting a new pipe every week or two lol

Thats what I use for my glass bongs. For my pipes I use dry gas (yes the stuff for your car) works better than anything and is dirt cheap. But any mostly pure alcohol will work. :joint:

i personally buy the stuff at the head shops like 420 or bling or soemthing like that. I think it better than iso+salt/rice. works so fast, only takes like 30 seconds of shaking, cleans it better than Alcohol + salt/rice and dont mind the 8 bucks it costs, worth it to me.

like CF, T2U an all the guys before them, 70% iso + salt an shake a lil. I been soaking in iso and then using rice to shake about but it takes a good 12 hrs soak and 20 mins of full on shaking.

just now i tried this iso with salt .. couple tablespoons at least.. no soaking. just shake about for 5 mins and its clean as... its so quick its definately the way to go IMHO. uses less iso than i been using and even cleans inside the stem where it comes in contact.. cause I left it in place

works good, give it a try

I clean mine daily. The resin is too strong.

I use cotton ear sticks to clean the bowl with alcohol. On the cone part sometimes I gently use kitchen towel paper.

To clean the glasspiece I use I screwdriver long enough to reach *almost* everything, with some cotton at the end. Might do it 3 or 4 times.
Lastly, a paper clip to clean around the hole, with cotton.

Shake it with alcohol and salt and you're done.
Clean it on a daily basis.
