Thanks for all your replies, it really helped me out. I talked to BGH today and I am going to send back my model and they are getting the new lumatek 600s in next week and when they recieve the one i have they are going to ship me a new one when they arrive. I hope it goes smooth and it goes well. love n light...

That doesnt surprise me stretchpuppy, inline fuses on electronic equip should be 100% mandatory, one minor suge and your whole unit goes to shit. You'll never see a good stereo system or just about anything of quality electronics without an inline fuse on the line side.I'll get me electronic ballasts when my magnetic ones give out,if I live that long lol.Hell even a good flourescent lighting fixture will have an inline fuse

Did anyone else buy the mdhydro 600w digital? Im thinking it might be the best ballast out there given the price ($129) and the features. I had a hiccup at first but they fixed it very quickly and its been great since.

My 600 watt digi mdhydro just took a shit on me...its still under the 30 day store return policy...the ballast is making no sound at all...so i'm guessing its not the Bulb...Did they give u any shit bro when u had ur issues with urs if any at all? I'm pretty bummed out right now :(

Are you shittin me? They told me mine was the first to die out of 1400 sold! If the fan isnt spinning then yes its dead. Im curious to see if they give you the same 1400 line. Report back with what they tell you!!! But no they were very responsive to replacing it quickly as long as I gave them the UPS tracking number of the returned ballast.

Its been great since. Only a couple weeks have passed though. Id give the replacement a shot. It does have a 1 year warranty anyway (unless you went with the longer one at purchase). Maybe they are having a bad production run? Either way, still report back with what they tell you. If they give you the same 1400 line then thats bad news.

Well Maryland Hydro is taking care of me with no probems at all. There was no mention about my mdhydro ballast being the first of 1400 or anything...There allowing me to even upgrade to the Lumatek for the whatever the price difference is...cool people for sure

I have been wondering a while where to buy these digital ballast in Europe. I have been searching a few European shops without luck. So where European growers get these?

Bastards at MDHYDRO...I orderd my new Lumatek on Thursday last week and paid for 2nd day shipping....I got my package yesterday with everything minus the Ballast! I called them and asked them what was going on..they told me that the ballast will be here in a day or two...I was like WTF did i Pay 2nd day shipping for?...on top of that...when i got my RMA in and paid to upgrade my ballast they sent me the Silver 1st generation Lumatek ballast..instead of the Blue one....gggrrrr if the ballast i get tommarow is Silver....i'm gonna be heated

There are no 600w MH bulbs... All 600w system whether digital or not will be able to run MH... The only way I was able to get MH on my 600w Lumatek was with a 600w Conversion Bulb... yup thats right... If someone can find a 600w MH bulb, ide love to be wrong.... If your buyin it b/c it can run MH and HPS, go for the 1000 or 400's....

Actually Mdhydro has a couple of 600w MH bulbs. It doesnt mention conversion anywhere so I assume they aren't. Look for the Sunmaster and the Mdhydro Blue in 600w.

And dang, I just noticed they are sold out of their house brand 600w digis. I was going to order another one soon :badday:

Yup, they are conversion bulbs...

Taken from the discription of the Sunmaster 600w MH...
"This is a MH bulb that works with an HPS ballast."

Im guessing the other Bulb is the same deal.... On the flipside... lets see if you can find a 600w MH (only) Ballast : )

My first question it,do you think maufactures will start makeing 600MH bulbs now becuse of all the new idgi's on the market?

I just orderede a 600 watt galaxy from mdhydro, i will let you know how it works out, it should be here next monday, I am going see if anything interfeares with it, try soe different test. I have founf that the most sensitive equipment is low votage lines like phone lines. when doing electrical work it is agains code to put 120v in the same condit at say 14v telephone line becuse of the interfirence. I had some 120v lines next to the fax line and the machine did not work at all, so I assume this would quickly determine if the rf signals from the balest detectable, but I guss there may also be an issue with fequencies. I am kinda sceptical of all the stuff on on bghydros site stating that galixy is the best now but time to find out. anyway babbling on I will let yall know how it goes

Only based on information I've heard the word is running an MH type bulb in a digital ballast dramatically reduces the bulb's life span.

So i got my galixy 600 and did a few test on it. I first brought it to the office portion of the house, fax, wirless, ps3, multiple computers. and about 15 by 25 feet. I first test all of the stuff and it work fine, exept the am radio, i don't have the antana hooked up, but fm works fine. I them hang the light in the middle of the room turn it on and notice a faint buzz through the radio, berly noyicable. The PS3 could dowlnload just fine.

The test that I did that was surpizing was a cheap radio next to the light, even FM got prity bad when it was a few feet away, the AM was r4ealy bad for at least 15 feet.

another thing I don't like is that it seams to heat up almost as much as my 400 magnetic, but on the other side the my galixy 600 uses 5 amps and my 400 magnetic uses 5.2

I have just ordered a volt meter so I will be able to do beter test later with the light meter also
