I don't think you can go wrong with that combo. My 600's digi's consistently outdo my friends 1000 coils by a fairly significant margin all around.paq said:Hey guys, have been reading this thread for a few weeks now. Have done some research on the board and i went with the lumatek lt6120 600w digital hps, went with a ge lucolux bulb and a hydrofarm cordset. Should be receiving it soon and let you guys know how the equipment works. Peace.
the HIDHUT ballast is cheap seems well made but it uses a fan and you usually dont want a digital with a fan also a few people have reported them craping out. the lumatek seems to be the best on the market but its not perfect it seems that it can only run a few bulbs well. one being the GE. they are a bit hard to find but you can get them, just type it into google and a couple sites will pop up.Neptune said:Where is there a List of what bulbs can be used with what ballasts?
I was thinking of buying a bakers dozen of HIDHUT 600w Digital Ballasts. They are the cheapest on the market... BUT i just noticed that HIDHUT does not sell their 600w bulbs anymore? (they were pcied at like $35.00 a bulb!! WOW)
Now you guys are recomending Lumatek 600w digitals? (blue??)
And what is this GE Lucolox bulb? I have never seen one for sale anywhere.
info plz!!
guess i misread could of swore i read they had fans. my bad....clowntown said:jcsmooth is correct; HIDHut ballasts do not use fans. They're solid rectangular boxes with heatsink exterior, no fans. They're also considerably lighter than the Lumatek's. Quite a few Lumatek owners talk about how the Lumatek's are much brighter than the HID Hut's. For a minimal difference of only $50-ish for the warranty and performance, also seems like a no-brainer to me.
GE Lucalox bulbs are GE's standard HPS bulbs. They're pretty inexpensive. Many places sell them. Check eBay.
Which is yet another reason why I chose the Galaxy over the Lumatek. The Galaxy uses a wide range of bulbs.Neptune said:aye, but if there are only 2-3 bulbs that can be used with lumatek 600w, that eliminates a lot of cheaper bulb options.. potentially.
I enjoy buying and using cheap industrial 600w bulbs.
I have never paid the rediculous hortilux prices, infact I pay less than half normally.
