Hi Livinit, I'm a really interested to know what you'll get from the Freezeland seeds from Bush Brother. There is few SD that offer FL or FL cross but they don’t always rely on the Original SSSC strain to make their seeds, since the association closed several years ago. It’s pretty hard to get the original cut or seeds. I used to grow their seeds when I was younger, but I didn’t realized the importance of genetic preservation at that time. Unfortunately, many of the Seeds Bank that offer FL do not use the original genetic…

I know that there is some other Canadian SC that are selling Freezeland seeds and Freezeland cross but, at my understanding, they didn't use the original genetic from the SSSC SB. Knowing that, I’m always sceptical about Company that offer FL seeds… Regarding the Bush Brother SD, they advertise their Freezeland Strain as an IBL, but it’s clearly not. It’s a Bx hybrid of a cross of M45 (Pluto 2 from SSSC) with a Freezeland Cut from Quebec (Canada). You may get an awesome strain, it all depend of when Bush Brother acquired their cut. There was a huge genetic drift from the SSSC Freezeland genetic found in Qc over the years. If the parent strain are the original SSSC strain (M33 - M45), you are a lucky guy, if it’s the Freezeland degraded genetic available in QC in the last decade… it’s a different story. Your next grow season will give us an indication. You should start a thread for your next grow, I’ll be watching.

I wish you the best of luck!!!

Bush Brother's claim to use an SSSC cutting to produce the seeds on the description.

I am very interested to see how it plays out. Even if these seeds grow well in my environment I will still need to climatize them to my latatude for a few generations hopefully that will bring the finishing date a little earlier aswell.

Depending on how busy I am this summer I will attempt to make a thread... just not all inclined to posting photos with fear of geolocation integrated in new cameras and smart phones. Maybe I will just buy an old digital with little technology and proceed with that.

Darpa you can PM me anytime during the summer I'll give you updates on the progress If you don't see a thread started.

Anyway good luck to you to sir. :tiphat:

Sounds like the BB freezeland is the same as the old Jaysprout line. It's a good and mold resistant outdoor line. Not super potent but has a good indica buzz and the piney phenos have an awesome aroma and taste that remind me of the good outdoor from years ago. Some phenos had a more lemon/soapy smell and taste that I didn't care for. From what I understand the original from SSSC was superior in the potency dept. That's one I wouldn't mind getting my hands on if it hasn't disappeared.

reading your thread about good malawi not being around , was disappointing . though the high on the killer malawi is better than boutique strains.

if you leave them long enough , they will be solid mostly . some do grow into spears though . i haven't grown many straight malawi , as its poor on terps . so i mainly grow the hybrids . from last season .

Looks good! Interested to see how the season goes for you. I might have to throw a Malawi cross in the mix for our next season. I grew a Malawi plant about 20 years ago that was really something. The seeds in the Malawi cobs we used to get were always big and dark, but times have changed out here over the years. Most Land Race is hard to come by.

Thats a ton of shit. I like to keep things minimal. Maybe 2-3 varieties per greenhouse. Seed vigor is important, but a good strong pre-tested clone, only a few generations from seeds, is more reliable. Can't afford watered-down phenos when you are growing 8-10lbers+.

not sure which post your referring too ?
you did,nt mention what strains , i,m interested ?

i hear you .... solid advice , i,ll be running one or two strain next season now i,ve seen whats what and nailed down strains , pheno variation is a big issue and stress tolerant plants i,m finding also for hot temps is important . i,ll also run about 30 /50 different strains as late starts when you can afford to have a few watered down pheno,s as you put it , i love variation if it doesn't effect income . i found a little gem this season that has potential that was a late start .
currently testing more atm to see pheno variation
