Whats swordfish? People around here would love that name.
Swordfish..... a creation of mine (OTLB Seed Collective)
It takes a super stanky fast flowering male Shiskaberry 3 f2 that was frosty all thru veg and crosses to a classic BC clone only, Black Tuna (herijuana x lambs bread).
Swordfish is the F1 in what will be an inbred line with the Black Tuna cut. I intend to follow the cubing process to hopefully end up with a stable seedline most resembling the Black Tuna parent cut. I released 500 beans to seedbay in 2016 and sent off 300 more to another outfit a couple weeks ago.
there is an ongoing thread in the seedbay forum section.
good call on the AOG for full season, i like your dep selections too. similar to what i would runSeeds are:
40 seeds of AOG from Motherloade gardens (full season)
100 pack of Lemon Og from Ganja Rebel (deps)
50 pack of Bruce Banner from Dark Horse Genetics (deps and full season)
10 pack(s) of South Fork Kush (deps)
7 pack(s) of South Fork Cherry Chem (deps)
Clones:
Killer Queen from Rez Dog (deps)
Ancient Og from Bodhi (full season)
Long Valley Kush x Legened Og (deps)
Goals for the year, find more breeding stock and narrow down my final flavors. With over a hundred strains grown last year, I need to narrow things down. Dispensaries don't like 31 flavors every time you come in.
seems like 2003 is when the kush craze started in socal. before that there were a lot of blueberry, white widow, purps, but after about '03 everyone started askin for kush. i think it got up to like 6 or 7k per lb for a while.
1996 not many knew what og was. definitely didnt control the market back then iirc although i didnt start smokin until '99 so wtf do i know
other avenue is to look at cali biggest market , Los Angeles, top strains down there are og sherbert cookies wedding cake etc , so if you want to feed that, hitting em with high quality batches of strains like that is where it's at.
If you're gonna grow 7 packs of cherry Chem out u should find a pheno real close to Zkittlez. Two different people have told me they came up on something that is VERY similar and they're growing more seed to find it again. They say it comes out late so clone them all
Texada Northernlight
Texada Skunk
Manitoba Poison
Guerrilla Gold
Early Nepalese Grizzly
Freezeland
Anyone else have experience with these strains?
Hi Livinit, as I can see from your strains selection you definitely grow in Canada... I personally didn't have grown these strains recently but some of my friends did. The real Freezeland (M33 - Friesland from the SSSC) would absolutely be my first choice. Cut from the early 90's are still circulating in Qc and On, if you're lucky you may be able to get your hand on it... The pink freezeland would be an alternative. The Manitoba Poison and the Guerrilla Gold also perform very good in short summer area (fast fast fast flowering...) but I doubt it could reach the quality of the Freezeland. If you can't find the real Freezeland, you should definitely consider Green Crack from HSO (1989 SSSC Skunk#1 and an isolated Afghani cut).... Awesome strain!!!
Thanks Darpa for your inputs, I ordered the Freezeland from bush brothers. I'm thinking this strain will preform... only way to find out is to pop them this summer and wait.
The strains that had very positive feedback along side freeze land is the guerilla gold. I have high expectations for both these girls.
I'm gonna have all them at about 50 latatude see who does the best. I'll make sure to let everyone know how they do this upcoming season.
