That's a pretty broad statement. It's more dangerous than MJ by far. I can think of many prescription drugs that have a higher LD50 (dosage for death rate) and are much more physically additive than alcohol.Alcohol the worst drug known to man.
Like anything, if you abuse it negative consequences are more acute. Be it for alcohol or the processed crap most American's eat that we call food these days. Drugs have no moral qualification. They are unliving objects. What people do with them is their choice. You can either make bad decisions (potential for etc, etc, death). Or make informed ones.
There is something to be said for nice glass of single malt scotch, fine bourbon, or Oregon Williamette Valley Pinot Noir at the end of a long day of work. Couple nice IPA's, maybe?
