I played this song (the live version on CD) every hour for 3 days as demo music at a hifi show in NYC on a big ass system. And while I put it away for 15 years since I was so sick of it listening to it, now it still sounds mighty fine. The dobro picking in particular is first class and Alison’s voice is always a treat.

Saw Jesse Winchester in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory during the Frostbite Music Festival during their Rendezvous celebration about 41 or 42 years ago.
Jesse W. was wearing socks on stage, no shoes, and we'd brought in a 'quilt' of various cannabis products and ONE hit of acid, with the 'quilt' of hash, oil, and ganja frozen into the bed of an early 1970s Chevy 3/4-ton pick-up truck in February.
The hit of blotter was inadvertently dropped into the melting snow water on the wet linoleum at Canada Customs in Beaver Creek. A rather tense moment. I'll stop there, lest it become a story unto itself.

You can hear some similarities to Lyle Lovette, though Lyle Lovette came along years later.
