Broke out some of the John Allen strain psilocybin yesterday afternoon and ate what I'm going to guess was maybe .7 to .9 grams. (Didn't bother to get out the gunpowder reloading or smaller accurate digital scales to see precisely what the weight was) Only intended to eat a small enough amount to do a decent micro-dose. Went a bit beyond that, it seemed.
These were from my last crop well over a decade ago, perhaps 15 years or longer. They'd been dried quickly in a homemade desiccant chamber, then sealed in small custom-made Food Saver seals and the seals placed in a half-pint jam jar with the lid screwed on VERY tightly, and kept in an upright freezer that is typically between minus 15 f and minus 20 f.
I don't think they'd lost much effectiveness at all at this point. Longer lasting and still very potent.
If they'd been left unsealed and at room temperature for that period of time, it's my understanding that they'd have been worthless. Thankfully such was definitely NOT the case.
Still have a fair bit of them remaining; perhaps as much as just over 6 grams, I think. Then it'll be time to fire up the aquariums and jars again if need arises. If....
