What do you do when someone rips you off and you know them?

im surprised there are peeps telling dude to call the leo on the thief. WHy would you ever mess with them? Im also really saddened that some of you guys are asking for pm's to find out who he is and where he is and with that info you are gonna do what?? Be a vigilante? cmon be real. That shit doesnt need to be on this site either. I may ave a jan 11' member date for this sig but I have been part of this site since the beggining and also was on OG and more and more this site has really negative people.

what about mexicans? im surprised you didnt mention vatos. cali is flooded with them.

anyway if your legal, its a crime. so i take it the amount you are growing.. i would hope you are legal, otherwise you have 2 options pay the guy back in whatever manner you feel necessary or do nothing and start planning for a recovery.

if you are legal and you have his credentials which you should... considering you said he is an employee, knowing people these days though they just hire anyone and dont check shit.. but if you hired him properly then your first thought should be taking him to court or filing a report or even visiting his house and letting him know it aint going down like that, he is paying you every dime he stole.

again knowing most they are doing it illegally and their so called "employees" are just friends they dont bother keeping check on.. in that case your SOL and need to think more next time around.

man if i had a penny for every time ive told people you cant trust a god damn person on this planet, no matter what... id be a damn billionaire. yes i know the math on that, over exaggerating but you get my point.

im not going to lie id be over his house right now with a registered fire arm and id get everything that day. i dont care if i had to kick his door down. straight up, i wouldnt do shit to hurt em well maybe just a little if he mouthed off.. but i would scare the living shit out of them and no way id be letting him chill on that thinking he got away with it clean.

im not one for violence but man you gotta take whats yours sometimes and sadly sometimes it requires a little force.

personally id go recruit a team give em some samples and be like i need a little help and that would be that. you would be surprised the amount of things people will do for weed even if it includes helping kick someones door down.

or hell id just chill outside his place, wait for him to be caught alone. done.

disclaimer: just saying.

I see a few things wrong here.
First, DAMN! your really only get 2k a pound out there?
Second you need to reevaluate the way you operate. This is not a business that you can afford to be mister nice guy and front the bill waiting for the other guy to do whats right. Don't buy people cars, don't give people equipment and last of all if you did don't let him disrespect you. If anyone that knows you where to read or hear this out of your mouth you better believe your going to wake up with nothing. They will take it all if you don't stand up for your self. Your mistake for letting him know so much about you. Get your shit back and lesson learned use your name always!

yea man that shit sells hella cheap in cali, some farmers will sell an ounce for $54... crazy huh.

i didnt say anywhere i was gonna do anything like that...i wanna know who this shithead is in case he shows up around trying to sell to anyone i know or maybe by some small stretch hes actually working with someone who may be a friend of a friend....get people aware to watch out for this scumbag.

im not telling SF to go do some dirt himself, that could just add to the shitstorm thats already been created....outsource the work if you have trustworthy strong people who can do that sort of thing....

the good thing about weed is you can always grow more...

Thank you everybody for the ideas

Thank you everybody for the ideas

Geez this thread might be epic! Thanks everyone for the well spoken and really intelligent ideas.

Marick23,,,,,thanks for stopping in

Yes4prop215,,,,,you are correct in your thinking. I introduced him to a few commercial growers and some breeders in the Oakland area. So yeah I mean I definitely dont want him calling any of those resources again. Word in the California especially bay area bud scene spreads pretty quick. This dude was my employee for like 3 years doing different things. After that amount of time they kinda get to know the people in your circle? He is now out of that circle

Spacekiller,,,,thats some good advice. Being trusting and taking on partners too easily just doesnt work in the long run a lot of times. This dude never lied or never stole on a consistent basis , this was a stupid random act on his part. Trust me he was far from underpaid. I dont know about you but it takes a while as a grower to get offered to do 8 grows and then you inherit a co2 6 light setup. Thats a pretty damn good offer especially if you are young and have jack shit to begin with.

Supermanlives,,,,,I get the feeling that I wouldnt wanna owe you any money lol. And thanks for the halloween costume idea!:tiphat:

Stickky,,,,,,,,I wont be calling leo, I just could never do that for just karma #1, #2 I dont need the dude telling the police things either. Forget the police what the fuck are they gonna do thats a pussy thing to do. Also I think this is a legit thread. I mean damn every grower broker I know has been ripped or had some kind of operation shut down. We have feelings too. This shit has really helped me to think things out .

Petergriffin,,,,,,Charge it to the game? I hear you dude but my charge card is maxed!

Bullfrog,,,,,,Oh god man make an anoymous call to the police you say? Jeez to be honest I just cant do that. I just dont believe in police and them being helpful plus then I would feel really guilty about being a snitch. Thanks for stopping in though.

Natagonnaworrie,,,,,,,Relocating is a good idea. The thing is I dont really grow big, I mean if we are doing like a greenhouse grow where there might be over 100 plants then we have collective paperwork and literally like 1200 scripts. Its not like we are doing anything close to even 500 plants. Now selling pot on the other hand and growing at the same time thats a full time different story. But a lot is done in the clubs and stuff so....but yeah i mean it is a good idea to put some space between us before anything happens.

Donald Mallard,,,,,,,I hear you we all take losses in life. Marijuana has taught me a lot of business skills and I really appreciate the plant for that. You get what you put in.

Jgrow,,,,,,,I hear you. I dont know when you make tons of money and a long term employee wants to do a room its like why not? Well actually now I know why not. Because any and all grow partners typically suck. I will say that some grow partners are amazing and awesome but some people are just really stupid and difficult. Probably like any business. I guess I would say the pds were worth about 2700 each but who knows?

Cravenmore,,,,,,,,thanks for stopping in!

SSO,,,,,,thanks you for your advice. Its kinda heavy hitting but makes a lot of sense. You do have to take this game seriously. Yup your right I have been chased by people with guns and shit like that. I mean look at the fuckers doing 9/11 fraud to all the victims, people will do anything for a dollar! I am going to try my best to stay away from people like that! Yeah I mean I guess ive met some serious people in the bud business but its not like im selling cocaine and doing 50k transactions. After awhile you do learn to watch your back or whatever. But also how can you go through life not trusting anybody?

Gonzo,,,,,,thanks for stopping in. I appreciate your advice.

Powerrobbie,,,,,,thank you for your ideas. Yeah I mean I guess I should be knocking his door down right now but the true fact is that im super super busy right now, I dont really like buying into all that negative energy. I literally dont have the time and yeah its a tough one I know.

Mjbadger,,,,,,,,thanks for stopping by:wave:

Useful idiot,,,,,,thanks! I guess I am a nice guy. Marijuana has been so good to me sometimes you have to share. People taught me how to grow. People taught me how to sell. Cant keep it all to yourself its just not fun. But I hear you. The growing alone part is also a great idea. Kinda lonely though but then again so is a jail cell because someone wanted to be dumb.

Huligan whats up?,,,,,,,I hear you but he wasnt owed anything at all. I was trying to show him the way, was way too generous and he fucked me end of story. It happens all the time out here. And confronting him its like I actually tryed its a 2 hr mountainous drive to his house and he wasnt there but his friend was. The fact that I did goto his house though prompted him to call me but obviously he did not have anything of value to say. Im not trying to bend over here and take it in the ass : ) lol oh god im cracking up right now. Thanks for stopping in.

BET,,,,,,yup it sure does occupy my thoughts just knowing I picked out the plants,,,,,,payed electric bills,,,,,fuckin did illegal shit to get it all going. It sure is hard to rub off a 10 or damn with the equip a 20k loss! I appreciate your advice. Thanks

Sorry I tried, but I just cannot read this entire thread and all the posts.

I understand what yer saying about being nonviolent, but damn a man has got to draw a line someplace.

There are a million and one different ways you could retaliate, that's just a no-brainer, even stoned. But there are many aspects that are working to your advantage in the situation if you don't show all your cards too soon...

Like you said before, you know most of the same people he knows and he is gonna have to unload the loot someplace. You know where he lives and it sounds like you know his routines also.
Thieves are paranoid by nature and continually looking behind themselves in fear, and
thieves that smoke weed are easily scared and manipulated thru fear and paranoia.

If I had to deal with a situation such as yours, I would go "Mission Impossible" on his ass and fuck with his head until he tries to unload the goods, and I would have him so paranoid that he becomes desperate to get rid of the evidence. I would also have a buyer ready to take it off his hands really fast.

Take a trip to Radio Shack and buy a few gadgets like a wireless camera or two and a wireless microphone. Work the outskirts of the people he knows and without actually saying it, subtly hint that the thief is being watched by DEA. You most likely already know who he will sell it too. You probably introduced them? so get there first and set it up. Plant the cams and mics someplace he will find em and when he goes to hook up with the buyer: Show up with a crew and repossess your shit. Accept the payment from the buyer and tell the thief he can keep the gear but he's done in the area because everybody knows he is a thief and a rat.

I'd even pay a couple guys to park and sit down the block from his place. I'd use a throw away cell or prepay calling card and call his home, work, girlfriends cell, and even a restaurant if I knew he was there. I'd never make a sound on the phone either, just hang up when he answers. It would only take a few days and he would be so paranoid that he be sweating blood.

And if you think for a New York second that he isn't a rat too? Cut your losses... Cause a guy who will rip off his partner for weed will roll on him even quicker to save their own ass.

Back around 1984 a guy ripped off a children's Christmas fund that a club I was in had gathered. It was my responsibility so I ended up re-paying the money, but I screwed his sister, his girlfriend, and his wife AND then I gave him pictures too.

I really don't understand it but when a guy finds a used condom in his shoe, he seldom has much to say.

So if yer gonna run in deep snow, always keep your privates covered.

well ok i see all your points obvoiulsy, i just dont agree with them. lol.

marick you make no sense.

yf215- i got respect for you youve been here a while have good things to say and such, much respect for sure, but i just hope you can see my point as much as i see yours. I grew up in the yayarea too!

I get why youd all be mad, but in all honesty, most things that start with stealing, violence, ect usually lead to jail, prison, a hospital or worse..............just saying. Be safe please.

this industry needs to learn that solving things with a gun is gonna put us all in the same category as hard drug people in the eyes of most,

saw a sad headline the other day "man shoots another man in head for marijuana"...cmon people whats up with all the violence?

Growing good pot is a long long process and to do it well it takes 1st and foremost a group of people/friends that you can trust.

other posters have pointed this flaw out for you already, but I will do it again.

1st and foremost, you need to get rid of this erroneous assumption that you need partners to grow great herb, because fact is that you do not need partners. listen and understand this, period, there are not buts, a fact is a fact, proved by massive quantities of growers who grow big, top shelf and alone.

if I were you, I'd move out, not tell a soul who is a friend to this ripper, and after some time, maybe think something up to get some type of closure if you know what I mean

good luck

Stress test,,,,,,thanks for stopping in. Your post seems well thought out and I appreciate that. Thats a pretty funny story too about the childrens fund thing. Ill never understand people that steal from those less fortunate.

Stickky,,,,,thanks for stopping in again. Your post makes sense too. Noone really wants to get violent but it is a different story when a fellow man that you tryed to help out puts you in a position where you cannot pay your employees and all the other people you owe money too. Its such a crappy feeling to not wanna answer the phone because you dont have someones cash especially after they worked hard for it.

Bombadil.360,,,,,,hello there thanks for your post. I definitely see your point about going it alone. I guess im in a position to do that now. It seems like the ultimate thing to do. In California it is a hard thing to accomplish if you have a busy lifestyle I guess what with renting a place and all that crap. When I first started out I needed to work with other people for different reasons. Thanks again bro appreciate it.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. Lots of good advice here.

Also sorry I can't lend advice for the present dilemma. I'm inclined to get physical with the thief, living in the same area is just damn brazen. But then I close my eyes and imagine him standing in front of the judge wearing a neck brace and full halo.

But for next time...

You may have to hire others to get future work done. Try to mitigate the extenuating circumstances this particular thief has over your head. In other words, be proactive. Never trust (sorry to say it) anybody any farther than you're willing to gamble and lose.

I don't have the link but there's a very interesting documentary on Youtube where a N Cali gringo grower takes in a Mexican helper. The hombre helped haul in the gear, establish the plot and cultivate, harvest and trim the entire crop. They both hung the harvest to dry and waited to tag and bag.

The day before bagging, hombre steels the entire harvest.

If you're religious, put your faith in God. Put everybody else on a leash. Limit your interpersonal relationships with future help. Think of one of those 150 bosses who wasn't necessarily an asshole but you knew you couldn't fool with false honesty.

Since it's hard to tell the good sociopaths from honest people, don't give a darn one the trust that could cut too deep.

Kidnap that mofo, if he won't pay you back you can at least get him to hand trim your entire greenhouse crop. Chain him to something and let him get to work....

Hey bro a so called friend invited me out & sent another to harvested my plants. It took me two seconds to work it out the next morning, after discovering my plants gone. I then arranged another night out of drink with the crew responsible. This time I reversed the cards & sent people to their houses two in fact. I recovered my stash, most of it any way plus some snow & cash. Then I received the phone call that all went well.
At this stage I confronted the prick that set up the rip & broke his face with my fists in the club car park. I then bashed the mongrel another 2 times over a two year period & robbed his stash at a party because I promised I wouldn't cause trouble in a good friends house. You reap what you sow. Never reap what others sow because some people can go nuts on your ass.
Bro use some of the 9 pounds he has to get him back I'm sure there would be lots of wise guys willing to get it back for a percentage maybe a couple of pounds.

Heay bro, that sux big time! I feel you, it's happened to me but not quite on your scale. I've had people burn me for a couple of lbs.

I just retired from 25 years working inside Folsom Prison. The inmates would run 'stores' out of their cells. Everything was 2for1 or 3for1 during lockdowns, or between paydays. I had one inmate tell me he couldn't let them get too deep in debt, because even though he could just write-off the loss, they didn't know that, & might kill him because they owed him too much to pay back! Kinda "too big to fail" sorta thing.

Well I think you let him get too deep in debt, some people have no intention of paying

Ask yourself "What are my options?" Does he have anything to loose?

Probably best not to push it at this point. Just cut your losses.

Good luck

When anyone has information on you that you have to do business with you are his property. If he is unscrupulous then you get what you should expect. So working with a partner in something illegal, well you have no way to get it back but to break more laws. You think it was bad for a guy to have information about growing or selling weed, imagine if they have information about using thugs to tune him up. And the thing is, you have to keep quiet about that for a long long time before the statute of limitations runs out. Some thug could get caught on this that or another thing and turn on you. You could face racketeering charges, felony assault, god knows what. As they bust you for that they find other things grow or sales related and you could spend 20 years in the slammer.

It sucks to get ripped off. It is an emotional ordeal and is humiliating, but you have to just eat that and move on. Live and learn. At least now you have a life to live. Locked up is total down time and you will lose a lot more. Just like everyone says don't ever have a partner and do not give up information to anyone that can deprive you of your life or liberty.

I know you are personally on the right track. This message is for others that want to take this to a thug level.
