I am trying to save whatever good I have left in this old body, and am trying to quit drinking beer again. This song dances in my head when I want a nice cold refreshing beer. A broken rib, sore elbow from falling during the last episode have me in fear of the stuff now.

https://youtu.be/eoSn2Y-b6wI

Come down off your throne and leave your body alone
Somebody must change

You are the reason, I've been waiting so long
Somebody holds the key

But I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home

Come down on your own and leave your body alone
Somebody must change
You are the reason, I've been waiting all these years
Somebody holds the key

But I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
Oh and I'm wasted and I can't find my way home

Theres a pebble in a pond
Going on and on
Making waves and tides and ripples and rain
Theres a leaf in the wind
That don't no where to end
Chasing days and waves and wishes and dreams

https://youtu.be/IFvE2MPHDCA

Seems like everyone is out, looking for the sun
Singing rain and pain on he who hesitates
But it'll shine when it shines
You might think I'm wasting time
But I'm just a good old boy that's learned to wait

'Signs'

And the sign says, "Long-haired freaky people need not apply."
So I tucked all my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why.
He said "You look like a fine, upstanding young man - I think you'll do."
So I took off my hat and said, "Imagine that!
Huh... me, working for you!" Woah-oh-oh.

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs.
Blocking out the scenery. Breaking my mind.
Do this! Don't do that! Can't you read the signs?

And the sign says, "Anybody caught trespassing will be shot on sight"
So I jumped on fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey! What gives you the right... To put up a fence to keep me out,
"Or to keep Mother Nature in?
"If God was here, He'd tell it to your face. 'Man, you're some kind of sinner.'"

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs.
Blocking out the scenery. Breaking my mind.
Do this! Don't do that! Can't you read the signs?

"Oh, say now mister, can't you read?
"You got to have a shirt and tie to get a seat.
"You can't even watch, no, you can't eat. You ain't supposed to be here, heeere!"
And the sign says, "You gotta have a membership card to get inside." Hooh!

And the sign says "Everybody's welcome to come in and kneel down and pray."
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all,
I didn't have a penny to pay.
So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign.
I said, "Thank you Lord for thinking about me. I'm alive and doing fine."

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs.
Blocking out the scenery. Breaking my mind.
Do this! Don't do that! Can't you read the signs?

Signs, Signs, Everywhere there's signs.
Signs, signs signs!

I walk where the bottles break
And the blacktop still comes back for more
I walk where the bottles break
And the blacktop still comes back

I live where the neighbors yell
And their music comes up through the floor
I live where the neighbors yell
And their music wakes me up

Life beyond the playground fence
Is serious as Basketball
Life beyond the playground fence
Is serious

Four blocks from the steel mill blast
I paint my claim up on the wall
Four blocks from the steel mill blast
I paint my claim

From my end of the southside drag
Its a common thought to call the cops
Further west its been gentrified
They turned biker bars into flower shops

I kind of miss those Harley guys
How rarely did a body harm
They mostly liked to drink and shout
And flash the pictures on their arms

It happens wen the money comes
The wild and poor get pushed aside
It happens wen the money comes
The poor get pushed

The buyers come from somewhere else
They raise the rent so you can't hide
The buyers come from out of state
And they raise the rent

Buy low, sell high
You get rich and you still die
Money talks, people jump
Ask how high low life Donald what's his names
And who cares?
I don't wanna know what his girlfriend doesn't wear
Its a shame that the people at work
Wanna hear about this kind of jerk

These people aren't saints
No, people just are
They wanna feel like they count
They wanna ride in their own car

These people aren't saints
No, people just are
They wanna feel like they count
They wanna ride in their own car

I just want to make enough
To buy this town and keep it rough
I just want to make enough
To buy this town

Buy low, sell high
You get rich and you still die
Money talks, people jump
Ask how high low life Donald what's his names

I walk where the bottles break
And the blacktop still comes back for more
I walk where the bottles break
And the blacktop still comes back

I live where the neighbors yell
And their music comes up through the floor
I live where the neighbors yell
And their music wakes me up

Life beyond the playground fence
Is serious as Basketball
Life beyond the playground fence
Is serious

I walk,I live, My life, I hide

Where the bottles break
By the playground fence
Where the neighbors yell
Where they raise our rents

Where the bottles break
By the playground fence
By the steel mill blast
Where they raise our rents

‘The Late Show’

Everyone I've ever known has wished me well
Anyway that's how it seems, it's hard to tell
Maybe people only ask you how you're doing
'Cause that's easier than letting on how little they could care
But when you know that you've got a real friend somewhere
Suddenly all the others are so much easier to bear

Now to see things clear it's hard enough I know
While you're waiting for reality to show
Without dreaming of the perfect love
And holding it so far above
That if you stumbled onto someone real, you'd never know
(You'd never know)
You could be with somebody who is lonely too
(Sometimes it doesn't show)
He might be trying to get across to you
(Words can be so slow)
When your own emptiness is all that's getting through
There comes a point when you're not sure why you're still talking
I passed that point long ago
(Long ago)

Now I'm so tired of all this circling
And all these glimpses of the end
(You know it's useless to pretend)
That's all the voices say:
"You'll go right on circling
Until you've found some kind of friend"

I saw you through the laughter and the noise
You were talking with the soldiers and the boys
While they scuffled for your weary smiles
I thought of all the empty miles
And the years that I've spent looking for your eyes
(Looking for your eyes)
And now I'm sitting here wondering what to say
(That you might recognize)
Afraid that all these words might scare you away
(And break through the disguise)
No one ever talks about their feelings anyway
Without dressing them in dreams and laughter
I guess it's just too painful otherwise

Look...
It's like you're standing in the window
Of a house nobody lives in
And I'm sitting in a car across the way
(Let's just say)
It's an early model Chevrolet
(Let's just say)
It's a warm and windy day
You go and pack your sorrow
The trash man comes tomorrow
Leave it at the curb and we'll just roll away

Kottonmouth Kings Lyrics
"My Garden"

(Life is good you know, plant your see and watch it grow, ya)

One seed two seed 3,4, and 5.
How many of these seeds can they keep alive so I'm singin (singin)

Here in my garden (here in my garden)
I'm harvesting everything with love
and it gets faster now
I'm planting my garden (planting my garden)
harvesting everything with love
the sun keeps shinning down

One seed two seed 3,4, and 5.
How many of these seeds can they keep alive and so I'm singin (singin)
do delong the fact my gardens sacred
Ain't nobody gonna come and rape it ain't nobody gonna come and take it
Its my whole life
Love and passion consumes the reaction
now feed them the feeling that grow them so high
we've been baby the blossoms partaking
what's awesome and spread out the world that's no lie

Here in my garden (here in my garden)
I'm harvesting everything with love

and it gets faster now
I'm planting my garden (planting my garden)
harvesting everything with love
the sun keeps shinning down

I love it when spring comes around
I love puttin seeds in tha ground
I love this piece that I found
could it be another piece of the puzzle looks like a baby tree
pass me a shovel
so I can dig it up and put it in a nice place
mite be trainwreck mite be silver haze well anyways Ima move it
to a better spot
so it can get sunlight and be some better pot

Everything gonna chronic always burnin on a bag[?]
Got the good budz even got a lil hash callin me a plane
always flying threw the sky
captin kronik I'm super duper high
I'm super dupper fly
I'm a super duper guy
never spill a bong always got a clean pipe

If you wanna come along stand by my side
take a hit of this get ready for the ride

I'm a take a hit of that and you take a hit of this
roll a fat fatter makes cannabis bliss cause
where I live everybody's got weed to give
so where I live cover up our eyeballs u dig
we get so high so cal
everything things always better cause we so smoked out
kottonmouth kings and we wont slow down
still blowing smoke rings bitch watch wat now

Snacks stay open like 711
I smoke my bud like 24/7 get a tight pack never dry in the bag
it was kinda blunt wrapped I'm high as the heavens
if I get goes pro then I won't fold
roll the swift man fire with the [?] Drop prop pop
now go poppidy pop pop

ma loo?

Here in my garden (here in my garden)
I'm harvesting everything with love
and it gets faster now
I'm planting my garden (planting my garden)
harvesting everything with love
the sun keeps shinning down

Its harvest time the moon was shine pure magic in the air
the universe so miracle like drum sticks on a snare
the cycling the seasons change the healing that repairs
We pass around the sacred pipe then hold it in the air,
we blow the smoke in 4 directions giving thanks each time
then nothing can reward the gods like fruit at harvest time
so plant your seeds and love the soil and let water it each day
and live your life with pure intention good things will come your way
(so they say)

Here in my garden (here in my garden)
I'm harvesting everything with love
and it gets faster now

I'm planting my garden (planting my garden)
harvesting everything with love
the sun keeps shinning down

One seed two seed 3,4, and 5.
How many of these seeds can they keep alive
and so I'm singin (singin) do delong the fact my gardens sacret
Ain't nobody gonna come and rape it ain't nobody gonna come and take it
Its my whole life

Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Ian Dury and the Blockheads

Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Is all my brain and body need
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Are very good indeed

Keep your silly ways or throw them out the window
The wisdom of your ways, I've been there and I know
Lots of other ways, what a jolly bad show
If all you ever do is business you don't like

Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Is very good indeed

Every bit of clothing ought to make you pretty
You can cut the clothing, gray is such a pity
I should wear the clothing of Mr. Walter Mitty
See my tailor, he's called Simon, I know it's going to fit

Here's a little piece of advice
You're quite welcome it is free
Don't do nothing that is cut price
You know what that'll make you be

They will try their tricky device
Trap you with the ordinary
Get your teeth into a small slice
The cake of liberty

Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Sex, drugs, rock, roll, sex, drugs, rock, roll

"Down By The Side Of The Road"

John Prine

Her Father was a failure
Her Mother was a comfort
To a doctor and lawyer and an Indian Chief.
The shirt ran out of buttons
He lost all his marbles at a baseball game
And they went on Relief.
The bank took away their diplomas
They locked them up inside of the chest
And she moved away to Oklahoma
And got a tattoo on the side of her breast
"God-Damn, My socks are still hard"
From lying on the sofa on the night she was over in my backyard
Yeah, We was shooting the breeze out amongst the trees
When a shot rang low
And left her standing down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road

Father have mercy, Whoo Whoo
Get her a nurse please
She's almost alone
I saw her hand reaching out for the telephone
We rather see her locked up inside a home
Than see her standing down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road
Headlights flashing on her skirt in the wind.
Yonder comes a truck it drove by two men.
Shotgun man leaned out and said do you want to take a ride?
Out in the pale moonlight Light light Light Lie Lie Lie lie

Too long in the hot sun
She could've been Miss Wisconsin a long time ago
Spent too much time inside of the early show
We'd bought her a ticket but she didn't want to go
She was standing down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road

Headlights flashing, caught a skirt in the wind.
Yonder comes a truck it drove by two men.
Shotgun man leaned out and said do you want to take a ride?
Out in through the pale moonlight

Her Father was a failure
Her Mother was a comfort
To a doctor and lawyer and Indian Chief.
The shirt made out of buttons
He lost all his marbles at a baseball game
And they went on Relief.
The bank took away their diplomas
They locked them up inside of the chest
And she moved away to Oklahoma
And got a tattoo on the side of her breast

God-Damn, My thoughts are still hard.
From lying on the sofa on the night she was over in my backyard

Yeah, We was shooting the breeze out amongst the trees
When a shot rang low
And left her standing down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road
Down by the side of the road

"Killing The Blues"

John Prine

Leaves were falling..Just like embers
In colors red and gold they set us on fire
Burning just like a moonbeam...in our eyes

[Chorus:]
Somebody said they saw me
Swinging the world by the tail
Bouncing over a white cloud.
Killing the Blues

I am guilty of something
I hope you never do because there is nothing
Sadder than losing.. yourself in love

[Chorus 2x]

Now, you ask me Just to leave you
To go out on my own and get what I need to
You want me to find..what I've already had

[Chorus 4x]

Run,run,run,run
You better make your face up in your favorite disguise
With your button down lips and your rollerblind eyes
With your empty smile and your hungry heart
Feel the bile rising from your guilty past
With your nerves in tatters as the cockleshell shatters
And the hammers batter down your door
You better run

Run,run,run,run
You better run all day
And run all night
And keep your dirty feelings
Deep inside
And if you're taking your girlfriend out tonight
You better park your car well out of sight
'Cause if they catch you in the backseat trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you home to mother in a cardboard box
You better run

Right up there with anything these ears have heard
